Will Taliban surge in Afghanistan hurt Biden politically? Or are Americans done with the war?
As Afghanistan's provincial capitals fell in astonishingly rapid order to the Taliban this week, President Biden made it clear he has no regrets for withdrawing American forces from the country after two decades. A politician known for his deep reserve of empathy, Biden has offered surprisingly little solace to the Afghan people: "They’ve got to fight for themselves," he said Tuesday.
There is no doubt that Biden's decision is rooted in deep personal conviction — and a calculation that Americans no longer see a rationale for continuing "the forever war" to stabilize Afghanistan's fledgling democracy. Nevertheless, ending the two-decade U.S. campaign has allowed the Taliban to reassert its power with an onslaught far more swift than what Biden predicted just last month — a devastating denouement that could put the president in political peril.

Biden's Broken Border – His Policies Fuel Crisis. Here's Why We Must Uphold Rule Of Law
Biden's Broken Border – His Policies Fuel Crisis. Here's Why We Must Uphold Rule Of Law
The United States of America has historically welcomed millions of immigrants to its shores, given them boundless opportunities to achieve the American Dream, and provided their descendants with even more opportunities.
As a first-generation American, I understand the beauty of America’s immigration system that gave shelter to my family from communism. I was given opportunities that my parents could never have imagined when they began their search for freedom and a better life. My daughters have been granted even more opportunities.
Yet, for decades, the federal government has failed in its responsibility to maintain law and order at our borders. This has compromised the integrity of our legal immigration system and opportunities for those seeking the blessings of freedom.

Cuomo Resigns Amid Scandals, Ending Decade-Long Run in Disgrace
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York said on Tuesday that he would resign from office, succumbing to a ballooning sexual harassment scandal in an astonishing reversal of fortune for one of the nation’s best-known leaders.
Mr. Cuomo said his resignation would take effect in 14 days. Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, will be sworn in to replace him, becoming the first woman in history to occupy New York State’s top office.
“Given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to governing,” Mr. Cuomo said in remarks streamed from his office in Midtown Manhattan. “And therefore, that’s what I’ll do.”

Biden Takes Victory Lap After Infrastructure Bill Vote...Trump is mad
President Joe Biden hailed the Senate’s passage of a $1 trillion infrastructure package as a sign that the Senate can work together on a bipartisan basis.
The Senate passed its bipartisan $1 trillion infrastructure bill with 69 votes on Tuesday, setting it up to be sent to the House of Representatives.
Biden noted that when he first announced his candidacy for president, his desire to work together with Republicans was seen as a relic of the past.
“I know compromise is hard for both sides, but it’s important, it’s necessary for democracy to be able to function,” he said. “Today, we prove that democracy can still work.”
The bill passed on a bipartisan basis, with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and others such as Sens Roy Blunt of Missouri, Bill Cassidy of Missouri and Rob Portman of Ohio, joining in.
“I know it wasn’t easy, for the Republicans who supported this bill, you showed a lot of courage,” he said.
Mr Portman, who is retiring at the end of his term, praised the passage of the legislation ahead of the vote.
“Today is infrastructure day,” Sen Rob Portman of Ohio, who is retiring at the end of this term and was one of the key negotiators on the legislation, said.

Time’s Up Chairwoman Resigns Amid Backlash Over Role Advising Cuomo
New York governor Andrew Cuomo is on the brink of being impeached by the state legislature and, if he doesn't resign first, he could lose the job he has held for a decade.
FILE - New York's Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul attended a May Day pro-labor and immigration rights rally, May 1, 2018, in New York. Gov. Andrew Cuomo faces possible impeachment following findings from an independent investigation overseen by state Attorney General Letitia James. If the governor resigns or is impeached, Hochul stands poised to become New York's first female governor in a state whose last three male governors have been marred by scandal.
An investigation by state attorney general Letitia James concluded that Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women and violated federal and state workplace laws against harassment and retaliation. Criminal have investigations since, separately, got under way.
If Cuomo is impeached, it will be only the second time in New York state history. Governor William Sulzer was impeached less than a year into office in 1913 and ousted, accused of financial impropriety and perjury, while he blamed a political conspiracy against him.

King Barack' Birthday Bash Was A Huge Success
The term "scaled back" is all relative, because Barack Obama's 60th birthday bash was still a bash, with what appeared to be several hundred party revelers on hand to celebrate.
There were tons of celebs who showed ... including Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Bradley Cooper, Don Cheadle, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Erykah Badu, Steven Colbert, Bruce Springsteen and more.
The former Prez hit the dance floor under the massive tent ... without a mask. As you know, the CDC, Dr. Fauci and many other experts have urged people to wear masks inside because of the Delta variant, and it's already drawing criticism.
The party looked super fun ... but the plan to keep things under wraps crashed and burned early on, as Erykah Badu and others posted photos and videos of the event.

After the parties' blame game, COVID 19 is still a threat in U S
After the parties' blame game, COVID 19 is still a threat in U S
Democrat Joe Biden defeated Republican candidate Donald Trump in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. Former President Trump's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic was debated by members of both parties.
Here's a review of how Biden criticized Trump in various public speeches.
Biden questioned Trump administration's coronavirus containment measures, saying they only focused on testing and ignored many follow-up measures.
He said on June 30, 2020, in a speech in Wilmington, Delaware that Trump's measures were not working and his promises and predictions were "pulled out a thin air" and making people "lose even more faith" in the government.
Turned out what Biden said is true. When Trump left office in January 2021, the U.S. had lost more than 400,000 lives to COVID-19, data from Johns Hopkins University showed.
Biden, now the U.S. president, also accused Trump of lying to the public.
"For too long, the administration said the threats were 'under control,' 'contained,' 'like the flu,'" Biden said in a recorded speech published on his website on March 23, 2020.
More than a year later, it's obvious that the COVID-19 outbreaks evolved into a pandemic and have never been contained in the country.
After failing to control the spread of the deadly disease, Biden said, Trump essentially gave up.
"He's given up. He's quit on you. He's quit on your family. He's quit on America," Biden said in a speech in Wilmington, Delaware on October 23, 2020, one day after the final presidential debate, while laying out his COVID-19 response plan.
Will Biden's plan now work when he is already in office and the U.S. is still facing threats from the pandemic?
After Trump's departure, another 200,000 people have lost their lives to the disease and the number is still increasing, as the Delta variant is spreading faster than the original virus strain and causing a new wave of outbreaks.
The U.S., seeing a slowdown in vaccination rates, is having a hard time persuading people in the south to take the jab.
At the same time, easing of lockdown measures, which traded people's safety for freedom, is helping the virus to spread – number of new daily cases rose from 4,063 on June 20 to 122,674 last Friday. The trend is not so optimistic for Biden's reopening policies.

Biden And The DEMS Are Floundering
Biden And The DEMS Are Floundering
US President Joe Biden doesn’t know the population of the country he is president of after the latest gaffe by the elder statesman makes global headlines.
In his latest press conference addressing America’s response to the global pandemic, Biden claimed that 350 million Americans had now been vaccinated, or “vaxated” as he calls it. The only problem with that statement is that it’s 20 million more than the entire population of the country he is president of.
Reporting on the error, Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi commented: “350 million people vaccinated in the United States, Joe? The population is only 330 million! Surely given he has notes, an autocue and probably advisors in his ear, he’d correct that glaring falsehood. He certainly wouldn’t repeat it, would he?”

Biden, Harris Hold Ceremony For Capital Police
Biden, Harris Hold Ceremony For Capital Police
President Joe Biden on Thursday offered “profound gratitude” to law enforcement officers who responded to the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection as he signed legislation to award them Congressional Gold Medals for their service. The president thanked the officers for saving the lives of members of Congress during those “tragic hours” of the attack seven months ago.
The medal is the highest honor Congress can bestow. Joined by members of Congress, law enforcement officers and the families of police who died following the attack, Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris held the formal signing ceremony in the White House Rose Garden.
Many officers were brutally beaten and injured that day as the violent mob of then-President Donald Trump’s supporters pushed past them to break into the Capitol and interrupt the certification of Biden’s victory. Many of the insurrectionists repeated Trump’s false claims about widespread election fraud as they hunted for lawmakers and tried to beat down the doors of the House chamber with lawmakers inside.
Some of the officers, including four who testified at a House hearing last week, have spoken openly about the lasting mental and physical scars.
“My fellow Americans, let’s remember what this was all about,” Biden said of the siege. “It was a violent attempt to overturn the will of the American people, to seek power at all costs, to replace the ballot with brute force. To destroy, not to build. Without democracy, nothing is possible. With it, everything is.”

Biden's Failure: Total Collapse At The Border
Biden's Failure: Total Collapse At The Border
More than 18 percent of migrant families and 20 percent of unaccompanied minors who recently crossed the U.S. border tested positive for Covid on leaving Border Patrol custody over the past two to three weeks, according to a document prepared this week for a Thursday briefing with President Joe Biden.
Some flights scheduled to deport migrants had more than 25 percent of passengers test positive before departure, leading Immigration and Customs Enforcement to remove those migrants from the flights for quarantine in the U.S., according to the document.
The Department of Homeland Security document does not give precise dates or say how many migrants were tested.
Migrants are not tested for Covid in Border Patrol custody unless they show symptoms, but all are tested when they leave Border Patrol custody, according to DHS officials. Immigrants who are allowed to stay in the U.S. to claim asylum are given tests when they are transferred to ICE, Health and Human Services or non-governmental organizations. Deportees who are scheduled to be put on planes out of the U.S. are tested for Covid and other infectious diseases by ICE.
As of Wednesday, more than 15,000 migrants were in Border Patrol custody, according to Customs and Border Protection data obtained by NBC News.

Cuomo Sues Lawyers For Sex Offenders Claims Letitia James Had An Ambush
Cuomo Sues Lawyers For Sex Offenders Claims Letitia James Had An Ambush
He’s not going to go quiet.
Governor Andrew Cuomo hid in the Executive Mansion on Friday, but sent out a team of lawyers to attack some of the 11 women he accused of sexually harassing in public – claiming that Letitia James’ investigation was directed against him is.
“The governor deserves to be treated fairly, and he should be,” Rita Glavin, Cuomo’s personal defense lawyer, insisted during a Zoom press conference that was also broadcast on the governor’s official state website.
“It did not happen here. It was one-sided and he was in an ambush. “
In a prepared statement, James’s press secretary said that “the governor himself requested that Attorney General James oversee an independent inquiry” amid the spate of allegations against him earlier this year.
“Attacking this investigation and trying to undermine and politicize this process takes away the bravery of these women,” spokesman Fabien Levy said.
‘There are 11 women whose reports have been confirmed by a mountain of evidence. Any proposal that attempts to undermine the credibility of these women or this investigation is unfortunate. ”

President Biden's extension of the eviction moratorium is unconstitutional and he knows it
Biden was elected to restore norms to Washington, D.C., but his eviction decision is one of the most egregious acts of executive overreach in decades.
Charles Cooke
Opinion Contributor
On Tuesday, the President of the United States stood before the nation and announced that he intended to break the law.
Up until that point, Joe Biden had confirmed repeatedly that he did not possess the constitutional authority to extend the eviction moratorium that the Center for Disease Control promulgated last year under President Trump, and that the CDC had renewed back in June. Asked on Monday whether the White House could restore the policy, Gene Sperling told reporters that “the President has “not only kicked the tires, he has double, triple, quadruple checked,” and he has found each time that he cannot. Moreover, Sperling confirmed, Biden had “asked the CDC to look at whether you could even do targeted eviction moratorium – that just went to the counties that have higher rates – and they, as well, have been unable to find the legal authority...” Speaking at his press conference Tuesday, Biden reiterated these findings. “The bulk of the constitutional scholarship,” Biden conceded, “says it’s not likely to pass constitutional muster,” as, he noted, did the Supreme Court, which ruled in June that the scheme “exceeded its existing statutory authority” and could not be extended without explicit congressional approval. But, Biden said, he had decided he was going to do it anyway – if just to exploit the time it would take before the judicial branch struck it down.

DESANTIS IS DOING IT RIGHT, WHO'S THE DICTATOR?
DESANTIS IS DOING IT RIGHT, WHO'S THE DICTATOR?
U.S.-Mexico border not ‘wide open’
In a statement, DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw focused on the migrants who make it across the border without detection. She acknowledged that migration is not the only factor in COVID-19 spread.
"We know tens of thousands of migrants cross the border illegally every month," she said. "Officials don’t have a precise number, because the border is porous, and it stands to reason that many people enter undetected. ... Some of those countries where a significant portion of the migrants hail from, such as Haiti, have extremely low rates of COVID vaccination."
Still, it is wrong to say, as DeSantis did, that the southern border is "wide open" for everyone to just come into the country. Most people who are encountered are turned away under a public health law invoked by Trump’s administration and continued by Biden.
Border officials — at and between ports of entries — recorded more than 822,000 encounters with migrants from February to June, and most of those people were expelled under the public health law. These individuals don’t get to stay in the country to request asylum or other immigration protection.
Nicole Hallett, a professor and director of the Immigrants’ Rights Clinic at the University of Chicago Law School, told PolitiFact that the apprehension numbers reflect that people trying and failing to cross multiple times.
"Apprehensions have increased because of the strict COVID restrictions, not because restrictions have eased," Hallett said.
The Biden administration has allowed certain groups of migrants to file for immigration protection, such as children arriving alone at the southern border and some families with young children. The Department of Homeland Security, however, said it had recently resumed expedited removal flights for certain families who recently arrived at the southern border.
Officials in February began to let in asylum seekers who were waiting for a resolution of their U.S. immigration cases in Mexico under the Trump-era Remain in Mexico program. (Biden ended that program in June.)
The United States is also temporarily limiting inbound land border crossings from Mexico; non-essential travel is not allowed.
Customs and Border Protection told PolitiFact in April that personnel do initial inspections for symptoms or risk factors associated with COVID-19 and consult with onsite medical personnel, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or local health systems as appropriate.

‘Governor who?’ Biden jokes when asked about war of words with DeSantis
‘Governor who?’ Biden jokes when asked about war of words with DeSantisc
President Joe Biden was asked Thursday about Gov. Ron DeSantis’s criticism of the President as part of an ongoing war of words between the two.
“What is your response to Governor DeSantis, who is using your words about ‘don’t be in the way’ and he’s saying ‘I am in the way, to block too much interference from the federal government.’ Your response, Mr. President?” asked a White House reporter.
“Governor who?” quipped Biden as onlookers laughed. “That’s my response.”
In his coronavirus briefing earlier this week, President Joe Biden criticized Republican governors like Greg Abbot and Florida’s Ron DeSantis who have made moves to outlaw mask mandates and other measures to slow the spread of COVID-19.
“Worst of all, some state officials are passing laws or signing orders that forbid people from doing the right thing,” Biden said. “I say to these governors, please help. If you aren’t going to help, at least get out of the way of the people trying to do the right thing.”
DeSantis fired back on Wednesday.
“Why don’t you do your job? Why don’t you get this border secure, and until you do that, I don’t want to hear a blip about COVID from you,” he said at a press conference.
President Biden said Florida and Texas account for one-third of all new COVID-19 cases in the country.

BIDEN ACCUSED of OVERREACH ON EVICTION BAN
BIDEN ACCUSED of OVERREACH ON EVICTION BAN
Now, in case you didn't notice, Democrats love shutdowns and COVID mandates as much as they love, I don't know, high taxes and climate regs. Now, in fact, I think it's safe to say that many liberals were never happier than when Americans were forced by their government, out of the workforce, out of school, away from church, and even away from friends and family.
Now, not only was there all that interrupted time to finally catch all see six seasons of Downton Abbey, all that time for YouTube yoga and planting herb gardens, it presented them a golden opportunity. The viral emergency could offer a stealth way to change America forever. A fearful public, they wagered, would also be a complacent public.
Now, interestingly, anti-lockdown demonstrations have drawn massive numbers abroad, in France, in Greece, Australia, and the UK. But here, even when the COVID dictates made zero sense, like limiting restaurant capacity or masks on student athletes playing outside, there was shockingly scant public protest here. Now, this was much to the dismay of Dr. Scott Atlas.

Ron Johnson suggests, without evidence, FBI had advance knowledge of January 6 riot but did nothing
In an interview with WISN 12 Tuesday, Wisconsin GOP U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said he had no regrets after recently saying he may have been more concerned if the rioters during the Jan. 6 violence at the U.S. Capitol were members of Black Lives Matter or Antifa.
"There were no racial undertones in my comments," Johnson said. "So I know the left is exploiting that. But there weren't. This is about riots and comparing the rioting we saw throughout the summer."
Johnson has come under increasing scrutiny after making the comments on a talk radio show Thursday.
"Of course a racist is going to say that they’re not racist," State Sen. LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee) said. "The fact that he’s defending his comments and playing the victim shows he is who he is."
Johnson, the Republican from Oshkosh, has accused Democrats in recent days of "using the race card."
"I’ve condemned the people that have breached the Capitol," Johnson said. "I want to see those folks prosecuted and pay a legal penalty, whatever the judgment’s going to be."
Johnson, who is up for re-election next year, hasn’t decided whether to seek a third term.
He did tell WISN 12 he is not interested in running for governor.
"Target somebody, isolate them and try to destroy them," Johnson said of Democrats. "I’m seeing what's happening here. I don't have a persecution complex. I honestly don’t take this personally because I know who I am. I know what I say. I know what I mean, and I know how it’s being distorted, twisted and lied about."
When asked whether he can win re-election, Johnson said, "If I decide to run, I would think I could win. Sure."

Trump Estimates 100 Million Dead From COVID 19 Without His Vaccine Efforts
Former President Donald Trump estimated up to 100 million people would have died from COVID-19 without his administration's efforts to spur the development of vaccines.
If not for Operation Warp Speed, which was the name of the Trump administration’s initiative to develop vaccines quickly to protect the public from the coronavirus, Trump said the health crisis death toll would be similar to that of the Spanish Flu pandemic more than a century ago.
"I think if we didn’t come up during the Trump administration with a vaccine you could have 100 million people dead just like you had in 1917. You take the Spanish Flu, 100 million people — up to 100 million people died. I think we’d be in that territory," the former president said in an interview with Fox News host Dan Bongino that aired Saturday night.

Hungarian Prime Minister (Viktor Orban) Hits Back At Biden Calling Him A 'Thug'
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a prominent right-wing voice in Central Europe, fired back at U.S. President Joe Biden for his remark on the campaign trail that grouped the leader in with autocratic strongmen like Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and North Korea's Kim Jong Un.
During a town hall in 2020, Biden accused then-President Donald Trump of palling around with "all the thugs in the world":
"You see what’s happening from Belarus through Poland and Hungary and the rise of totalitarian regimes in the world", Biden said at the time. "Our current president supports all the thugs in the world."

Cuomo faces calls for resignation from powerful Democrats in wake of AG report
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's remaining political support among top Democrats crumbled on Tuesday in the wake of a report that found he sexually harassed multiple women. Cuomo has insisted he did nothing wrong and made no indication in a video response that he will step down. But the investigation -- which detailed the allegations of 11 women and found that Cuomo engaged in "unwelcome and nonconsensual touching," among other allegations -- not only reawakened calls for his resignation from familiar foes within the party but led others, including President Joe Biden, to issue fresh ones for his departure from Albany and propelled talk of impeachment by the state Legislature. In all, the public outcry from Democrats amounts to the most serious challenge yet to Cuomo's 11-year grip on New York state politics, and it was far from certain Tuesday night that despite his defiance, he will be able to withstand the pressure to leave office

New record number of people crossing the border illegally Trump soon back to WH
New record number of people crossing the border illegally Trump soon back to WH
In the physics of illegal immigration at the U.S. southern border, the long, sweltering days of June and July usually bring traffic to a cyclical ebb. But this June — and now July — the number of immigrants who have entered illegally has apparently defied all such physics.
Each day of July, authorities encountered an average of 6,770 people, he said. Families and unaccompanied alien minors drove much of the influx, but so did single adult “runners”, who have strained Border Patrol resources as agents struggle to push them back into Mexico again and again. Over and above the 210,000 aliens CBP encountered, an additional 37,000 illegal immigrants reportedly evaded Border Patrol entirely, likely a significant undercount.
The epicenter of the ongoing border crisis is the Rio Grande Valley region of South Texas. For perspective, agents stopped 51,149 illegal immigrants there in May, 59,380 in June — and 78,000 last month, Shahoulian explained.
