I Drove Around California For A Month. It Was A Disaster.
Please Follow this Channel.
California has changed and NOT in a good way! Wow!
I sent a month driving around California on a road trip. I saw devastating homelessness, amazing ocean views and interesting desert communities. California has a lot to love, but this place sure has changed a lot.
It's been said that as California goes, so goes the rest of the nation. Well, that might be troubling if we all follow California's lead.
Here's an unedited view of my month-long road trip through California.

Is California Going To Ruin Tennessee?
Please Follow this Channel.
You would never know that this Tennessee city is going through so much drama.
It was my final stop on the Appalachian adventure. I’m here in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I had heard conflicting reports about what it was like here these days. Some say it’s an emerging tech hub with all these exciting things going on. But it also has a reputation as being one of the most dangerous, rundown cities in the country.
I wanted to know - which one was it?
So I came here for a couple of days to poke around and talk with folks and get a feel for the place.
I have to say - this place is on its way up. But I don’t think there’s too many people here who would want me to tell you that.

I Went To The Poorest Place In Kentucky: Appalachia Road Trip Day 1
Please Follow this Channel.
This is definitely one of the most tragic places in the country.
Your idea of poverty is probably different from mine. But out here is on another level. I’m not sure if they know or even care how poor they are, and the poverty of the place isn’t going to be the only focus. But it’s a big part of what we’ll see here.
It would be three weeks of criss crossing the tiny mountain roads in some of our most isolated communities. There are people back here who have never even left this region before. Some never will.
We’ll be some big cities too. Well, big for here.
As we’ll see, it’s a far different way of life in these twists and turns. The values, the culture and especially the way they view success. You could say it’s the most unique place in the country. And we’re gonna see it all during the dead of winter.
I guess this is gonna to be Appalachia without its make up on.

I Went To The Most Liberal Place In West Virginia
Please Follow this Channel.
You aren't gonna believe this part of West Virginia!
This is not your normal West Virginia. We’re in Morgantown, home to West Virginia University. It’s by far the most liberal place in this state. You could actually draw a circle for 500 miles and not find a higher concentration of Democrats.
People in Morgantown take pride in being ‘different’ then the rest of West Virginia. The liberals here’ll tell ya - we’re educated and a lot of us have good jobs. We have big world aspirations. We’re not dumb chew spitting inbred hicks.
I’m here because I wanted to see what it was like and talk to some of the people who live here in this mysterious, rare liberal land.
This was day 3 on my great Appalachian adventure, and the first stop in West Virginia - the only state that’s completely in the Appalachian region. We’re gonna spend the next four stops here in the mountain state. There’s plenty of time to see poverty and rundown and the effects of drugs. But we’re gonna begin in a different type of place. I think.

If I were to compare how the liberals live versus where the conservatives live in West Virginia, well, you watch and tell me what YOU think. Seems like red land is a lot more behind the times. The reality here is not uplifting.
I’m here because I’ve always found it interesting that some of the poorest places in this country vote the hardest red they can.

This doesn't even look like America anymore.
McDowell County is now the poorest place in the country. You could say McDowell County is West Virginia’s West Virginia.
It was Day 11 on my Appalachian adventure, and my last stop in West Virginia was the small town of Welch. It’s the biggest city in McDowell County. That’s where we’ll spend most of our time today.
Driving around this part of Appalachia land is kinda like exploring a real live ghost town in progress. This is not what the United States is supposed to look like. But, truth isn’t pretty, or always something you want to see is it?

I Discovered The Most Redneck Place In Tennessee
Please Follow this Channel.
Whoo whee this is America at its finest!
So I was looking around at interesting things to talk about when I was in the Appalachian region, and I came across an interesting article written by a hardcore woodsman who calls himself Ol Tennessee Ridgerunner. His article was called Considering Relocation to Tennessee Redneck Country?
In the post, he talks about the redneck culture of this part of Tennessee and how they’re filled with well-armed redneck hillbillies. He says the area is full of folks with too many guns. Apparently, this is the best place for a bugout location in case shit hits the fan. It’s wooded and rural and people live off the land and everyone has guns.
I was like - this sounds like a great place to me.
There isn’t much out here. Just thinly populated rural counties on the way up to the Appalachians. This is where folks made moonshine and jams and jellies and it all played a big part in the culture for people spreading out west as they left the Appalachian mountains.

Poverty And Drugs Are Ruining West Virginia's Capital
Please Follow this Channel.
YTHIS is the headquarters of the Appalachian Region?
So I was just cruising around Charleston one evening looking for some interesting things to film. It was actually kinda sunny and it wasn’t all windy and nasty out.
I saw a LOT of sketchy that night in Charleston.
It was day 6 on the Appalachian winter adventure, and for the first time on the trip, the skies parted. The gray clouds broke as if West Virginia was saying here's Charleston with the covers off. After being here for a few days, I wondered - how bad would the place look had the skies not been blue.
For the next few videos, we’ll see poverty and drugs and places that need a lot of help. I’ll try and point out the good here. But it’s West Virginia. From the surface, good can be kinda hard to identify.
Charleston is the capital of this state, and you could say the capital of Appalachia. If this is the head honcho for Appalachia land, that says a lot about the rest of Appalachia.

Louisiana! Named after King Louis XIV of France. This state is best known for its Mardi Gras and Jazz Music- as well as its beautiful blend of Creole and Cajun cultures. If you like interesting food and friendly people, you’d love it here. Although, this place is in the deep south, so there are lots of issues with health, poverty and crime. While a lot of this state is really neat, the fact is, lots of places here are in a bad place right now.
We’ve looked at a wide range of data, including crime rates, unemployment rates, poverty, education and more. Plus, we took into account YOUR opinion - that’s right - you Louisiana people have a lot to say about which places in your states are great and which are not so great. Let’s begin, shall we?

I Went To Springfield, The Most Dangerous City In Massachusetts
Please Follow this Channel.
It's saddening to see a once-great place look like this today.
Massachusetts. The most liberal state of all. Now, we’re not going to get into politics TOO much here, but there are some interesting dichotomies here. Massachusetts does excellent in education, and is actually one of the safest states you can live in. Some rankings (not mine) have called Massachusetts one of the top 5 BEST states you can live in. So, whatever liberalism exists here, things could be worse. I mean look at California.
However, there are some BIG problems here, too. If you asked someone in Massachusetts where the worst places to live are, some will say Lawrence, you’ll hear Holyoke and Brockton or North Adams. And, of course, there’s Springfield.
For this video, we’re going to drive through the worst parts of Springfield, so you can see what is essentially the worst area to live in this whole state. We’ll talk about why this place is so bad and talk with someone who lives here to get additional perspective. As we’ll see, Springfield has improved, but is still in a bad place right now. And there’s no optimism things will get better.
Every state has a bruise. Even the best places to live have bad sides to them. In the case of Massachusetts, it’s here. Springfield has a population of 155,000 people, but that number is down by 17% from its high in the 1960s. People are leaving here for various reasons - the poverty, the crime, for better opportunities. And word is out about how badly this place is doing. At a time when home prices are astronomically high, Springfield is one of 13 cities where home prices are going DOWN. That’s not a good sign.
Back in the day, this place was jammin. They still call Springfield the city of firsts. They made the first dictionary, the first gas powered car, and basketball was invented here. This place was home to many large manufacturers and inventors. They made bread, cars, motorcycles, guns, brass goods, chemicals, watches, toys, engines, books. A lot of stuff was created and distributed here. There were once big downtown department stores.
But like many of our other formerly great cities, things went downhill in the last half of the 20th century. Factories closed down, Springfield city made a series of poor planning decisions, and industries just left the whole northeastern part of the US. We’ve seen similar declines in other cities out this way - places like Rochester, Buffalo and Hartford.
By the mid 1980s, Springfield was known nationally as a place with high crime, political corruption and poverty. A lot of the factories and manufacturing centers here are decaying and have for lease signs up. Companies don’t need to base their operations in these large urban centers. They don’t need to even be in America anymore.
This place almost filed bankruptcy, though it seems to have recovered from near disaster.
The biggest claim to fame for Springfield’s attempt at a turn around came with the opening of the MGM Casino in downtown. But as you probably know, casinos usually bring in additional revenues, but also bring in their share of crime and blight.
Today, nearly 1 in 3 residents here lives in poverty. This is the second poorest city in the whole state.
Springfield certainly isn’t unique. Lots of our former great cities declined over time. And those with greater aspirations have moved into shinier, newer communities. A lot of people took their families into areas nearby - places like West Springfield, Agawam Ludlow and Longmeadow.
So Springfield’s stuck in a rut. And it can’t really grow, either. Much of New England has no unincorporated land, so it’s not like Springfield can absorb nicer nearby communities to springboard growth.
Crime is terrible here. Violent crime is three times the national average, and some of the worst offenders in Massachusetts live right here in Springfield. There’s lots of drugs and gangs and lots of kids roaming the streets without guidance.
Although things have improved here - I mean crime has peaked somewhat, though not in some neighborhoods like the one we’re in right now. Graduation rates are going up, and a new train manufacturing plant gives folks hope.

Is THIS Really The Best Place To Live In The Country??
Please Follow this Channel.
Why does everyone say this small North Carolina town is so amazing? Let's find out.
With the cost of living so high in major US cities and crime numbers going up, Americans are looking for better, cheaper, safer places to live. And with this whole new work from home concept being a thing - the question of moving for many of us isn’t WHY NOT anymore. It’s WHERE.
I spend a lot of time talking about what’s wrong with the country and point out the many problems in many of our major cities. But let’s look at a place that seems to be doing everything right to see what we can learn.
You can look at different lists online and there’s going to be a wide variety of opinions on where the best place to live is. Some lists look at affordability, some look at crime. Some look at everything to try and create a list with some reliability.
For the past 5 years, the small town of Morrisville, North Carolina kept showing up on these lists. Sure, Morriville is a really safe place that’s new and where you wouldn’t EVER see a bum or a tent downtown, and where a murder happens once every 20 years. But to me, it was puzzling. Is this place THAT great? If so, what makes it so? So I went there to find out.
It was a very pleasant day for a drive. The skies were bright blue and it was a chilly 53 degrees in late February of 2022.
Could this place be that great
There’s nothing here.
The town of Morrisville has just about 33,000 now people within it’s oddly shaped borders. But there are families moving here every day. The town has doubled in population since 2007. As you can see on this chart, Morrisville only had 1,000 people in 1990. And look at the growth rate since.
Morrisville shares a border with many other desirable communities in the greater Raleigh metro area - places like Cary and Apex that ALSO come up on lists of amazing places to move to. This whole area here on the western side of Raleigh is growing fast because there’s lots of room. Tech companies are spilling in, and brand new schools are opening up. Because it’s new and modern and still UNRUINED by Americans, people find it to be a breath of fresh air.
Most of Morrisville, though, isn't very interesting. In fact, it’s not interesting at all. It’s mile after mile of jam packed housing developments and nice, neat windy roads. The neighborhoods are all very pleasant and clean. To be honest, I saw more people walking around Morrisville than I do in MOST places I visit. But it’s very vanilla. It’s all very sterile.
Is THIS what America wants? Perhaps. If you live in a state that’s trashed and overwhelmed with police sirens, this would seem very welcoming, I suppose. I mean MORRISVILLE is proud of Morrisville. There’s banners hanging up along the byways and throughways all over the place.
The average house here in Morrisville has gone up a lot - it’s all the way up to $470,000. Many of the homes we’ll see on the drive certainly aren’t very large, nor is there a lot of land. But since the average household income is well over $100,000, the cost of a home is fairly affordable for the people who live here.
Being at the center of a technology and academic crossroads means a diverse international community. About 25% of the people moving here came from other countries. It’s about 54% white, and 28% Asian. Half of the community is between 25 and 45 years old, and more than half of the households are married couples with kids.
There’s a technology center here, which is one main reason so many people want to live in Morrisville. Microsoft has a presence here as do Oracle, IBM and Cisco. There are also several biotechnology companies here as well. Look at the list of tech companies who make Morrisville their home. Remember there are only 33,000 people here.
Why is Morrisville ranked so highly? The school system is ranked 29th in the state - not eye opening, but very good. I’d be willing to bet the kids rarely sass their teachers, and I doubt there are armed security guards and metal detectors here.
Morrisville has been called the best place in the state, the best suburb in the state, the best suburb to raise a family in the state. The job growth here is 3% a year, and the future job growth is expected to be 45% over the next ten years. Less than 3% of the people who live here are unemployed.

America's Richest City Won't Let Poor People Move In
Please Follow this Channel.
They way these liberal elites are acting is crazy! They even look down on a part of Atherton they call "Poverty Pocket" where homes are ONLY $2 million. Haha!
Well for most of us, that’ll never ever happen. So the question is very rhetorical. Here in Atherton, that’s just status quo. That means if you make $450,000 a year, you’re below average. Tech billionaires live here. The head of Google, the head of Facebook and the founder of Microsoft have all called Atherton home.
And you thought you felt pressure to keep up with your neighbors my god.
But all these people need to be close to where the action is. As you probably know, Silicon Valley has all the world’s biggest tech companies.
Homes here average close to $10 million each the day I drove through here, but by the time you watch this video, they’ll probably be worth more than that. The rich keep gettin richer. This is the first time in our nation’s history that an entire city’s population earns on average a half million bucks. And there’s 7,000 people here.
Driving around Atherton, there isn’t a lot to see. A lot of people are on their walks. There are a lot of Teslas instead of Lamborghinis. You see lots of contractors in front of homes, undoubtedly doing significant upgrades. I saw a lot of food trucks in front of homes to feed the hordes of contractors that you see on every street. All those landscapers and marble layers gotta eat somewhere.

10 Places in Kentucky You Should NEVER Move To
Please Follow this Channel.
Wow there are some really terrible parts of Kentucky, I'll tell you that!
Kentucky, the state known for its fried chicken, bourbon, and for being the first state to serve cheeseburgers! There’s a lot of reasons why one might want to move to this midwestern state, as the cost of living is 21% cheaper than most US states! Though, 20% of Kentuckyans are also living in poverty, so it can’t be all sunshine and rainbows here! There’s a lot to unpack with Kentucky, and today we’ll be taking a visit to the absolute worst cities to live in, so you don’t have to!
Today, we’re going to talk about the worst places to live in Kentucky. Most of the places we’ll talk about aren’t backwoods places on the eastern side of the state, though, that part of the state is troubled as well. It’s real cities. Despite the fact that Kentucky is a great state, there’s trouble spots just like anywhere else. And we’re gonna talk about those right now.
Okay so that was the worst places to live in Kentucky. I hope you learned something. Kentucky is a great state - and it's so sad that a handful of people can ruin it for everyone else. But that’s the way it is.

23 Reasons Why The Midwest Is Absolutely Ridiculous

What is GOING ON in the midwest?? I never thought I'd see some of this stuff anywhere!
Here is a collection of just some of the weird, cool and unusual things I saw when I drove around the midwest for a month last August. I started in Kansas, went up into Nebraska and Minnesota, and wound up in South Dakota, Iowa and Missouri. I wanted to see all of this in the summer. That’s the best time to drive around this part of the country.
You'll never see any of this anywhere else in the United States.

I Went To The Worst Ghettos In The United States: Part Two
Please Follow this Channel.
Parts of America are falling apart literally before our eyes.
Now I’ve seen a lot of this country. I go out of my way to see bad things because that’s what you YouTube people want. And a lot of the rundown cities I’ve seen are places most people don’t want to go into.
You can call em ghettos if you want, although that word might be a little strong. But every place I’m going to show you has large parts of town that are poor, dangerous and rundown. Many have been all but abandoned.
I did a previous video on this, but I’ve been to a lot more places now.
I think it’s important for us to see what’s happening to our communities. If we don’t know about these tragedies, how do we fix em? And for a lot of us, looking at this puts our own lives into perspective.
As we drive through these areas, you'll notice many of the streets are empty. Sometimes the scariest movies are when you don't see the monster at all.
