Harvesting Red Pontiac Potatoes Grown In 10 Gallon Grow Bags
Red Pontiac potatoes are one of three types of potatoes that we grew this year. The other two were Purple Majesty and Kennebec. In this video, I'll show you the harvest from two ten gallon grow bags. Overall, I was happy with all three types.
Several of my favorite types of grow bags.

Does Cutting Banana Leaves From A Plant Harm It? Let's Take A Look See.
Even though we are in zone 6b, we grow banana plants. Our Musa basjoo banana grows to about 12 to 13 feet tall every summer, even though we cut it down every fall. Bananas grow pretty fast, and for that reason, they have lots of leaves. After a bad wind storm, some of those leaves can be shredded by the wind. In this video, I'll show you what our banana looked like before I trimmed a whole bunch of leaves off of it. Then I'll show you what is looked like after I trimmed it. Finally, I'll show you what it looked like by the end of the summer.

Fall Garden Update and Six Types Of Garlic Planted - Zone 6b
Here were are nearing Thanksgiving, but we still have some things growing in the garden. Some crops are fairly cold hardy, and others can last after it starts freezing with a little protection. In this video, I'll show you what we still have growing, and I show you now I plan to extent our growing season a little longer. We had a true test this week, when the temperatures were in the 30s and 40s F. during the day, and 20s and upper teens at night. Let us know if you still have anything growing. Thanks for watching!

Indoor Pepper Plant Update - Carnivorous Plants Too
In this update I'll show you most of the pepper plants that we have growing indoors. I grow peppers 365 days a year to shorten the time it takes to stabilize a new pepper. Right now I have quite a few crosses that I did myself, and a couple that the bees did for me. Let us know if you grow peppers indoors. Thanks for watching!

What A Mutant Pepper Plant Looks Like
Mutations are a normal part of nature. Sometimes they happen in animals, and sometimes they happen in plants. This time it happened to a pepper plant. The original mutation happened about a dozen years ago or so. I plan to cross these peppers with some of my own pepper plants.

A Look At A Mattapeno Pepper Plant - Variegated Jalapeno
Here's a look at our Mattapeno pepper plant. It's a variegated Jalapeno pepper. The heat is the same as a Jalapeno, but the foliage is very different. They can have varying amounts of variegation, with some of them being almost white.

October Gardening Update - Before and After Our First Freeze
It is always a little sad when the first freeze of fall comes. It's part of gardening though, so we just learn to deal with it. Part of the whole process is harvesting as much as you can before that first freeze hits. In this video, I'll show you what we harvested, and give you an update on our fall crops. Thanks for watching!

F2 Pepper Taste Test - Oda Sweet Pepper Crossed With Hot Pepper
This is an interesting pepper. It's a cross between an Oda purple sweet pepper, and a hot pepper. The pepper start out purple and ripen to red. When ripe, they have some sweetness with good flavor and mild heat. They are also very productive.

Feeding Butterflies By Hand At The Butterfly Palace - Branson MO
This was the very first time in my life that I had butterflies eating out of my hand....literally. On a recent trip to Branson, Missouri, we visited the Butterfly Palace. The 4 of us really did enjoy our time there. If you love butterflies or enjoy nature, you probably would enjoy the Butterfly Palace too. The coolest part about the Butterfly Palace for us, was the artificially flowers that had nectar in them. Many times there were multiple butterflies trying to eat from the flowers at the same time. There were many different species of butterflies to see, and they were all exotic species that we had never seen before. Thanks for watching.

Tasting And Reviewing Pippin's Golden Honey Pepper
Pippin's Golden Honey Pepper is an edible but ornamental pepper. It starts out purple, then changes to yellow, and finally to a deep orange color. We are able to grow this pepper thanks to Folk artist Horace Pippin, who died in the 1940s. In our garden, it grew to about 3 feet tall, and about 3 or 4 feet wide. I did not stake this one.

Banana Toes Dwarf Tomato Taste Test and Review
Banana Toes Dwarf Tomato is one of many dwarf type tomatoes produced by the Dwarf Tomato Project. I've grown more than a dozen tomatoes from the Dwarf Tomato Project. Some of the rival some of the best heirlooms in taste, but they grow on plants that are a much more manageable size. In this video, I'll taste the tomato and let you know what I think of the taste and how it grew for us.

Tasting And Reviewing Shimofuri - Variegated Tomatoes
This is one of several variegated tomatoes that I grew this year. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. The growth habit of this tomato is different than most tomatoes. It grows more outward than upward. For that reason, this would make a great tomato to grow in a container, grow bag, or even a hanging basket. As well as being an attractive plant, it is also a very productive plant.

Saving Basil Seeds To Plant The Next Year and Years After
Saving Basil seeds is very easy to do once you know how. The whole process takes only a few minutes. When you are finished, you will have enough basil seeds to last for several years, at least. All you need to get started are some mature dry basil flower heads, a paper plate, a kitchen strainer, and an envelope to store you seeds in.
