The Same Drugs: Debunking myths about gender identity with Colin Wright
How irrational is gender identity theory, really? How do arguments against binary sex stack up? In this episode, I speak with Colin Wright, an evolutionary biologist and Managing Editor of Quillette. We address common claims about gender identity, the reality of biology, and why the truth matters.

The Same Drugs: The thought police are here for Harry Miller
Harry Miller is a former police officer from Humberside who was investigated by the police in 2020 over tweets. Although the officer who contacted him confirmed no crime was committed, one of the tweets, which included a poem Harry did not write, was recorded as a hate incident.
In February 2020, he won a landmark ruling against Humberside Police in the High Court. In his judgement, Mr Justice Knowles said that Harry's tweets were “not even in the foothills of harassment,” and compared Humberside Police’s actions to the Cheka, Stasi and Gestapo.
Knowles however found in favour of the College of Policing, ruling that its Hate Crime Operational Guidance (HCOG) was lawful. Miller is now appealing this element of the judgement on the basis that HCOG is not compatible with existing legislation, including the Equality Act and the European Convention on Human Rights.
Harry is taking his battle for free speech and against police harassment to the Court of Appeal, which will hear his case on March 8-10.

Why I was banned from Twitter
Lots of misinformation is going around online, thanks to liberal media and gender activists. I want to clarify exactly how and why I was banned from Twitter (spoiler: it wasn't for 'transphobic comments' or 'harassment' or the targeting of trans people).

The Same Drugs: Heather Heying on gender identity, Twitter, and the lab leak theory
Heather Heying is an evolutionary biologist who was a professor Evergreen College until she and her husband, Bret Weinstein, were pushed to resign in 2017, after Bret was subjected to a social justice-style witch hunt.
I spoke with Heather early in January about gender identity, evolutionary biology, Twitter, the algorithm, the Covid lab leak theory, and more!

The Same Drugs: Ani O'Brien on the problem with modern feminism
I spoke with Ani O'Brien last week about why feminists have failed on free speech, her experience of fighting for women's rights in a world that wants to erase biological sex, the problem with hate speech laws, and the challenge of dealing with intra-movement attacks. Like, me, Ani is fond of heterodoxy, and guilty of wrongspeak, putting her at odds with many feminists, and the left.
Ani is a political commentator and spokeswoman of Speak Up For Women (SUFW), a non-partisan organization that exists to protect and advance the rights and interests of women and girls in New Zealand.
In unrelated (but relevant imo) news, I live in Mexico currently, where it is very humid and therefore purposeless to attempt to straighten it, so this is the current situation with my hair. idk, I'm working on it. It's an adventure.

The Same Drugs: Do Trudeau's new travel restrictions violate the Charter?
Hello friends! I am still out of the country, and therefore not in my home and in a less than ideal set up, tech/audio/visual-wise, so while I am doing my best to improve on sound/set up, I am still working on things. Thank you for bearing with me! Please ignore my messy clothes shelf in the background of my Air BnB.
On Friday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced new travel restrictions in Canada, including forcing Canadians returning home to quarantine in a government-designated hotel, on their own dime, which Trudeau promises will cost at least $2000.
This is despite the fact that international travel accounts for just two per cent of COVID-19 cases in Canada.
https://globalnews.ca/news/7607191/covid-canada-international-travel-restrictions/
The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) is fighting back, having already mounted a number of challenges in response to Covid-related restrictions, and recently announced that immediate legal action is being prepared against the Trudeau government over the declaration that Canadian residents will be subjected to mandatory quarantine, at their own expense, after returning from international travel, regardless of their negative COVID status: https://www.jccf.ca/federal-government-faces-imminent-lawsuit-over-unlawful-confinement-of-returning-canadian-travelers/
I spoke with Lisa Bildy on Sunday about The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the lockdown measures across Canada, and Trudeau's travel restrictions.
Lisa Bildy graduated from Western Law school in 1993, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1995. She practiced for a number of years with a small litigation firm, where she did considerable trial work primarily in the areas of family and personal injury law. Lisa has worked with the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms since 2019.

The Same Drugs: Matt Taibbi wants a better media channel for a less polarized America
Matt Taibbi is an American author, journalist, and podcaster. A longtime contributor to Rolling Stone, Matt recently made the move to Substack. I spoke with him last week about Donald Trump, Joe Biden, the attack on the Capitol, domestic terrorism, and how American media can (and must) do better.
I apologize for my terrible, echo-y audio (luckily Matt's is good and he is the important one). I'm still working on my tech setup in my new digs, and obviously got it wrong this time around. I promise it will return to better quality. For those nosy parkering, my dog and I abandoned Vancouver for Mexico. I've been struggling with WiFi and other tech issues, so have not been able to upload as much as I aimed to, but am working towards getting a better system going around here, in order to maintain quality content and regular production.
Matt is the author of: "The Business Secrets of Drug-Dealing: Adventures of the Unidentified Black Male," "Hate Inc.: Why Today's Media Makes Us Despise One Another," "I Can't Breathe," "Insane Clown President," "The Divide," "Griftopia," and "The Great Derangement."
