Sunday Song- Turn It Around
This is a wonderful song called “Turn It Around” by Jordan St. Cyr. You can find the full song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lr3-tQVpvZY
I really like the lyrics of this song. It’s easy for us to have the wrong perspective on things and/or focus on things that lead us in the wrong direction. Also, we tend to try to solve things ourselves, often making them worse, instead of putting things into God’s hands and following HIS way of turning things around.

Crummy Christians
Are all Christians just crummy?
What aroma are we giving others?
Do we feel crummy and just keep condemning ourselves?
Do we have a Philippians 2 attitude?
Check out my Substack post on this issue. I hope you will check it out and join with me on a little self-reflection.

Today we have another Maverick City Music song featuring Dante Bowe and Naomi Raine. The song is "Testify." You can find the full song here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrZXOkN3x3g
I highly recommend taking a few minutes to listen and watch.
What are we testifying to folks? We have so many praises we can speak and sing to God. He's done so much that we don't deserve!

God’s Word Can’t Be Imprisoned
"Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel, for which Isuffer hardship even toimprisonment as acriminal;butthe word of Godis not imprisoned. For this reasonI endure all things forthe sake ofthose who are chosen,so that they also may obtain thesalvation which is inChrist Jesusandwithiteternal glory. The statement is trustworthy:
Forif we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
If we endure,we will also reign with Him;
If wedeny Him, He will also deny us;
If we are faithless,He remains faithful, forHe cannot deny Himself."

Sunday Song - In Jesus' Name I Pray
In Jesus Name I Pray
I love this song because it is just like a prayer and reflects our daily walks. It’s appropriately titled “In Jesus Name I Pray” performed by the late, great Charley Pride.
Here is the link to the full song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7AwcPWSAFY
Full lyrics:
Father give me strength, to do what I must do
Father give me courage, to say what I must say
Let thy spirit move me, I'm nothing on my own
Father stand by me, I cannot stand alone
In Jesus' Name I pray
Father open up my eyes to your wonders all around
Father let me see the good & beauty of this day
Fill my heart with love for my fellow man
And if I'm tempted Father
Father stay my hand
In Jesus' name I pray
Father help me through the troubled days that lie ahead
Let your light shine before me, that I may find the way
Don't let me stumble Father, or fall beneath my load
Father guide my footsteps, hold me to the road
In Jesus' Name I Pray
Let not hunger be my guide, nor fear be my master
Father let not envy be a part of me in any way
Father search my soul, take away my fear & doubt
Any smallness that you find there, Father cast it out
In Jesus' Name I pray

Time For A Rhyme - Tale For Two, Which One Are You?
Everyday it’s the same game,
Find someone to blame.
No I don’t want to self-reflect,
It’s much easier to deflect.
Why should I forgive,
When folks affect the way I live?
In the mirror, that wretched guy I see,
He ain’t really me.
No, that’s not denial talking,
Perhaps you best be walking.
‘Cause if you don’t accept my words are true,
I really don’t have time for you.
————————
I realize that I messed up,
Guess it’s time I fess up.
Been thinking about what I’ve done,
I really need to seek the Son,
To forgive every sin and lie,
For which He was willing to die.
In the mirror now I see,
A way I can truly be free,
From the sinful life I’ve been walking,
It’s time for more than talking.
God, I know what you say is true,
I’d better make time for you.
—————
My way or Your Way,
What’s it going to be?
Am I going to follow You,
Or am I going to follow me?

Sunday Song - "Yes and Amen" by Maverick City featuring Chandler Moore
Song by Maverick City
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RVaiZlQIog
A few of God’s promises that we can count on –
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
-Philippians 4:6-7
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
-James 1:5
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
-1 John 1:9
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
-John 3:16
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
-John 3:36
There are so many promises in the Bible. God is faithful, even when we are not. As the Scripture says,
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”
-2 Timothy 2:13

“Big Enough”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM4ej6G4niM&list=RDEMtcfWMHKft79vOrG1XPo8kQ&start_radio=1
Verse 1
I've got a heart that's full of faith filled helplessness
There are mountains ahead that I can't move by myself
But I know when I'm weak, he's strong
When I can barely breathe there's still a song
Even though it's hard right now, I'm not here on my own
Chorus
So when it seems it can't be done, I know God is big enough
I can run the race I'm called to run, cause I know God is big enough
He'll finish everything he starts
He'll meet us right here were we are
I can feel faith rising up, I know God is big enough
Verse 2
On the days that the shadows of doubt make me feel small, I declare that I don't stand in my strength at all, oh no,
Cause I won't live a day you didn't plan,
Every single moment is on your hands
Even if the whole world shakes, your the rock on which I stand
Chorus
Bridge
He's bigger then the fear that surrounds me
Bigger then the chains that have bound me
Bigger then the story my past can tell, oh
Bigger then the weight of tomorrow.
Bigger then the hurt and the sorrow
Bigger then the lies I've told myself
Chorus

What Makes A Man Of God?
If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last few months, you have no doubt heard of Saint Biden. You might know him as our new president. But, since he is such a down to earth kind of guy, you can just call him Joe.
The media has recreated Joe as a church-going man of God. I’m not here to build him up or tear him down with this post, so I’ll just leave you to draw your own conclusions. However, it does raise the question, “What makes a man of God?” Obviously, all the same questions could be asked about women, I’m just using “man” in the general sense.
Is a man of God someone who is a “good” person?
Is a man of God someone who goes to church regularly?
Is a man of God someone who simply believes in God’s existence?
Is a man of God someone who believes in the Bible?
Is a man of God someone who prays to the “big guy in the sky?”
Is a man of God someone who helps others?
Is a man of God someone who obeys the things God says in the Bible?
Is a man of God someone who advocates for things against the Bible?
Is a man of God someone who confesses his sin and repents?
Is a man of God someone who does his best, dismisses his sin, and goes on with his day?
What is a man of God according to you? Does your opinion even matter? Does your opinion hold more weight than mine or the dude down the street?
Should what God says about what makes a man of God count for more than all of us?

I'm a TERD
The acronym “TERF” has been flying around a lot more lately. For those unaware of what that stands for, it means Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist. There has been a lot of hatred and violence directed at TERFs for not allowing biological men to join in the causes that biological women are taking up for biological women. These TERFs have been accused of being trans-phobic, because they say that trans-women are not biological women. While to many that may seem like a statement of fact, it seems this has not quelled the anger within the “trans” community. Are you keeping up?
As a man, I must admit I feel a bit left out. That’s why I’m making an acronym for all the guys who are stuck on ideas like a man is a man and a woman is a woman. You know, those of us who are apparently full of hate. I’m going with “TERD,” which stands for Truth-Encouraging Rad Dude. For women you can join in the club by substituting “Dudette.” We are inclusive over here.
A few questions to consider:
What do you think about all the acronyms and name-calling that has become so prevalent?
What do you think about accusing those who disagree with your view of things of being full of hate?
How do you propose we have conversations about these things?
Does passing legislation that forces the majority of citizens to accept the premise of a tiny minority of citizens help or harm our society?

Making a Comeback
In a devotion I’ve been reading by Tony Evans called “Making Your Comeback”, he wrote the following intro:
“There’s something about a prolonged crisis that drains the hope out of you. It’s like sitting in an emergency room and waiting for your name to be called, only to watch everyone else go in one by one. If you aren’t careful, your feelings will soon dominate your faith, and you won’t have the strength to get up when it’s time to move. You will lie face down under a pile of unmet dreams and expectations.”
You can read the rest of this devotion here: https://bible.com/reading-plans/9305/day/3?segment=0
Are you losing hope?
Are you becoming impatient?
Have your feelings overtaken your faith and robbed you of your strength to move forward?
Have unmet dreams and expectations kept you down?
There is a way to make a comeback!

Sunday Song: My Worth Is Not In What I Own
Song by Keith & Kristyn Getty featuring Fernando Ortega
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MV5x6M38ea8
Lyrics:
My worth is not in what I own
Not in the strength of flesh and bone
But in the costly wounds of love
At the cross
My worth is not in skill or name
In win or lose, in pride or shame
But in the blood of Christ that flowed
At the cross
Refrain:
I rejoice in my Redeemer Greatest Treasure, Wellspring of my soul
I will trust in Him, no other. My soul is satisfied in Him alone.
As summer flowers we fade and die
Fame, youth and beauty hurry by
But life eternal calls to us
At the cross
I will not boast in wealth or might
Or human wisdom’s fleeting light
But I will boast in knowing Christ
At the cross
Refrain
Two wonders here that I confess
My worth and my unworthiness
My value fixed – my ransom paid
At the cross

The Light On The Hill
What is light? Can we find it? Can we be it? What’s the hill we need to climb? Can we save ourselves by climbing that hill?
Here are some of the words of Amanda Gorman, the young poet who read her poem “The Hill We Climb” at the inauguration yesterday.
Opening line: When day comes, we ask ourselves, where can we find light in this never-ending shade?
Closing Line: For there is always light, if only we’re brave enough to see it.
If only we’re brave enough to be it.
Many people found her words to be beautiful and inspiring. They praised her. But are those words true? Are they hers? Does she deserve the praise? Those are all good questions to ask, right?
Many people recognize that Jesus proclaimed himself as the light. He said following him is the way to have the light of life (see verse below). It is also historical fact that Jesus climbed up a hill where he was subsequently crucified. Some say Jesus was THE light on the hill that he climbed for us because he knew we could never climb back to God’s side on our own.
That’s the choice we all face. Do we put our hope and faith in the words of fallible humans or in Jesus who claimed to be the savior of mankind? Our answer to that question reveals where we will focus our praise. God says ultimately that determines whether or not we are eternally in the light. Choose wisely.
John 8:12 - When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,“I amthe light of the world.Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

I Like Free Speech And I Cannot Lie
I like free speech and I cannot lie
You don’t have to reply
To the words that I say
And go on with your day
But some of y’all get TRIGGERED
By opinions
That are different from your own
Call your buddy on the phone
Like “Can you believe what he said?!”
“He probably wants us dead,”
Riiiight?!!
So, then you make a plan
About how to silence this man
Cancelled by the mob?
Get him fired from his job?
Nah, let’s just report him to Twitter
Get him thrown out like some litter
Yeah!!!
Are you proud of what you’ve done?
Is this some victory won?
Why not try grace?
Can you see past race?
Where does it end?
Are you helping us mend?
Is this the unity of which you speak?
Thanks for giving us a peak….

A Little More Like...
I’ve made a point to post at least one song to social media on Sunday mornings going on a few months now. Since I started these videos, I wanted to continue the trend. Today’s featured song is Zach Williams’ “Less Like Me.” The lyrics of the song are fantastic all around. Here’s the chorus:
“A little more like mercy, a little more like grace
A little more like kindness, goodness, love, and faith
A little more like patience, a little more like peace
A little more like Jesus, a little less like me”
There are plenty of Bible verses that encourage us to grow in our faith and become more like Jesus. Here are a couple verses to encourage you today:
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;andwalk in love, just as Christ alsolovedyou andgave Himself up for us, anoffering and a sacrifice to Godas afragrant aroma.”
-Ephesians 5:1-2 (NASB)
I don’t know about you, but most days I’m more like me than I am like Jesus. If I’m honest, I’m not knocking it out of the park when it comes to things like mercy, grace, kindness, goodness, love, faith, patience or peace. Good thing God doesn’t keep score and make us earn our way to heaven huh? If that was the case, we would definitely be on the losing end. Thanks to Jesus giving Himself up for us, however, the battle is over. When this game of life comes to an end, if we’ve chosen Jesus as our captain, we will find that we are on the winning team. Jesus is the all-time saves’ leader and for that He deserves our endless praise!

Give Them Enemies Some Love Today
Who are your enemies? What makes them your enemies? Why do you hate them? Can you love them? What is stopping you? Do you regularly think about these questions?
Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr and his legacy, we often share one of his great quotes. That’s a great habit, because he had a lot of wise things to say. Today I’d like to share an excerpt from one of his sermons. Please read it with me:
“Now there is a final reason I think that Jesus says, "Love your enemies." It is this: that love has within it a redemptive power. And there is a power there that eventually transforms individuals. Just keep being friendly to that person. Just keep loving them, and they can’t stand it too long. Oh, they react in many ways in the beginning. They react with guilt feelings, and sometimes they’ll hate you a little more at that transition period, but just keep loving them. And by the power of your love they will break down under the load. That’s love, you see. It is redemptive, and this is why Jesus says love. There’s something about love that builds up and is creative. There is something about hate that tears down and is destructive. So love your enemies. (from "Loving Your Enemies")”
―Martin Luther King Jr.,A Knock at Midnight: Inspiration from the Great Sermons of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.
It seems like Jesus and MLK Jr may have been on to something…
