Checking valve clearance for the 2nd and 3rd time since the rocker assembly was removed and reinstalled I wanted to confirm it did not affect the clearance. If it did it was only minimal. Oil flow appeared to be lacking to 2 of the rockers, but after inspection found no reason for this, it was re-installed and after a time the oil flow did show up to those rockers. Is this common for delayed oil to some rockers? Finally after re-assembly, a visual and audio check.

Quick check that the turbo is working. The "D" turbo is much quieter than the "C" "Whistler Turbo". 1st short test drive after the cylinder liner repair.

Continuing reassembly after the cylinder liner repair. Radiator, Coolant lines, turbo oil leak...

Preparing for and completing final head bolt torquing. Running the engine to ~180F, stopping the engine, completing the torque sequence.

This is a long sequence of many video clips, mostly in order of date and time documenting the repair. This makes the topics jump back and forth. This is not a how to video, but simply what I did.

M35A2 new injector nozzles installed and tested and adjusted.

M35A2 Injector Tester Setup and Testing. Fittings required, demo of working and defective injectors. UPDATE: the brass fitting that connects to the injector is all that is needed but should be replaced with a stainless steel version as brass may not be rated for the pressures involved.

M35A2 Cyclinder Head Wrench Build. This tool allows reaching in the the recess under the fuel injectors for torquing the head bolts. The alignment of the drive and wrench head remove the requirement for a torque offset calculation.

Removing valves, inspecting valves, cylinder liner cleanup.

Continuing disassembly, removal of piston 1 and inspection..

Investigating M35A2 and beginning disassembly around the engine. Oil pan removed. Inspection of broken parts in oil pan. Inspection underneath engine.

This was the first sign something was wrong. Seconds after the video, the noise got much worse.

M35A2 driving from the Hardware Store to Home

M35a2 icy road drive with some stops, accelerating, shifting, ect. Time stamps of interest: 0:34 Turn on to highway and accelerate. (Vehicle not accelerating normally for unknown reason) 3:04 Close door after mirror adjust, then accelerate. 7:45 Turn around and accelerate. Nice shifting sounds on this one. 9:30 Slow and pull over on some ice. 9:55 Accelerate again. 11:00 Bumpy ice then pull over and stop. 11:40 Go again with slight skid. 13:21 Go again 14:26 Camera exposure adjusted for better road/outside view. Go again. 15:58 turn off highway arriving home.
