#NearerMyGodToThee" is a 19th-century Christian #hymn by #SarahFlowerAdams, which retells the story of #JacobsDream. #Genesis 28:11–12
The hymn is well known, among other uses, as the alleged last song the band on RMS Titanic played before the ship sank.

"#DrunkenSailor" is a #SeaShanty, also known as "What Shall We Do with a/the Drunken Sailor?"
The #shanty was sung to accompany certain work tasks aboard #SailingShips, especially those that required a bright walking pace. It is believed to originate in the early 19th century or before, during a period when ships' crews, especially those of military vessels, were large enough to permit hauling a rope whilst simply marching along the deck. With the advent of merchant packet and clipper ships and their smaller crews, which required different working methods, use of the shanty appears to have declined or shifted to other, minor tasks.
"Drunken Sailor" was revived as a popular song among non-sailors in the 20th century, and grew to become one of the best-known songs of the shanty repertoire among mainstream audiences. It has been performed and recorded by many musical artists and appeared in many popular media.
Although the song's lyrics vary, they usually contain some variant of the question, "What shall we do with a drunken sailor, early in the morning?" In some styles of performance, each successive verse suggests a method of sobering or punishing the drunken sailor. In other styles, further questions are asked and answered about different people.
The song is No. 322 in the #RoudFolkSong Index. For more details see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drunken_Sailor

#WaltzingMatilda is #Australia's best-known bush ballad, and has been described as the country's "unofficial #NationalAnthem".
The title was Australian slang for travelling on foot (waltzing) with one's belongings in a "matilda" (swag) slung over one's back.

When I get the time I like to lose myself in #LogicProX and see what I can come up with. I have no idea why I titled this piece "Ce qui a fait ca" which in English translates to "What did this!" It's lost to me now!
For this piece I used a particular arpeggiator sound and then layered the same effect in multiple tracks... to me it conjures images of #BladeRunners or maybe #Tron like experiences. Having grown up listening to #Vangelis I'm not surprised that my subconscious would eventually churn out something like this.
If you are interested in learning a musical instrument please check out my other channel https://www.youtube.com/user/KerinGedge for Tune Basics, the popular music #education series created by #NewZealand based #musician/content creator Kerin Gedge. Tune Basics will typically avoid delving too deeply into technique or musical styles but will, where possible, provide the pupil with relevant links to professional musicians who can take the learner deeper when they are ready to move on from basic #lessons.
Generally speaking Tune Basics will focus more on popular songs that are in the #PublicDomain. This is to protect the channel, Kerin Gedge, from any complications that may arise due to copyright claims. But it also aids the musical student with the belief that most popular public domain songs are already deeply embedded in the player’s subconscious, which lends itself to the learning experience. For example tunes like #TwinkleTwinkleLittleStar, #HappyBirthday or even #ChristmasSongs like #SilentNight or #JingleBells are so entrenched in modern western minds that learning the songs is “easy” because you’re already half way there!
Although on occasion #KerinGedge will provide a lesson on a modern popular song without monetising the video. Examples include #TheCoffinDanceMeme which became very popular during 2020, #BillyJoel’s #PianoMan or #Snufkin the harmonica playing wanderer from the #Moomin series.
#TuneBasics also provides #HarmonicaTabs #TinWhistleTabs /#PennyWhistleTabs and #KalimbaTabs on the Tune Basics blog, link provided above. You're not as Powerless as you Might Think!
Hey guys, I don't normally do social commentary, I don't normally have much to say about anything outside of my interests, but I've been profoundly disturbed by the apparent mass censorship going on around the world right now. And I just wanted to remind you all that you aren't, yet, completely powerless. Mainstream Socialmedia has been programming you to believe that you need them to go viral. It's just NOT true. As little as 1-2 decades ago things went viral WITHOUT the use of Social Media, we have somehow forgotten that fact!
2000 years ago a small handfull of fishermen and tradesmen thumped the world with the message of the gospel, which spread through the ancient world like wildfire! Christianity went on to become the dominant religion in the West for almost 2000 years. This was achieved WITHOUT social media. 2 decades ago things like the Numanuma Dance, Star Wars Kid, Salad fingers, you name it, the viral videos of the good old early 2000s, these went viral because people watched them and enjoyed them enough to SHARE them with their friends. They didn't use a share button. They didn't pay for views. They didn't woke down their message to appease the SJW crowd, no they simply told their friends about it, or they opened up their emails and pasted links. If something was good enough or relevant enough it went viral. Whether social justice warriors liked it or not, things went viral simply because people shared them in the good old fashioned way of word of mouth.
I think it's strange that in society we're told that organic is good and yet no one applies that rule to sharing content. Organic growth, in my opinion, is real growth. Don't rely on Socialmedia platforms to make it possible for you to get the word out. Do it despite them!

To Whatever Happens Next - Original Music by Kerin Gedge
It's my birthday so I'm being creative. This one is quite a bit different to "42" which celebrates my age. This one is a salute to whatever happens next. Made completely on the fly as I completed "42", it's more electronic in nature which I suppose could be indicative of how different the future, my future will be, as we move into what we used to call "Science Fiction"

All my music is created using #LogicProX. I usually do instrumentals and like to experiment with a range of sounds from electronic to acoustic. I’m particularly fond of the Chinese #ErhuViolin and the various electronic leads that are available on Logic Pro/Alchemy.
If you are a content creator and would like to use my music you are most welcome to it, but I do ask that you contact me and let me know that you have used it so that I can share your work with my own subscribers. I’m a big believe in share and share alike! I also ask that you remember to credit me in your work and provide a link to your subscribers so that they too can find my music! I also don’t mind if you monetise your project BUT if you are a commercial operator and it is likely that your material is going to make a significant amount of revenue then I gots to get paid, so please ensure you contact me in that regard. I define commercials as any project such as a movie, TV show, mass produced commercial music project or game that is likely to make a consistent revenue stream over and above $10,000. If that is you then please contact me so we can negotiate royalties. I like royalties.
A little bit about me.
I am the creator of the #YouTube #tutorial series #TuneBasics which aims to teach budding musicians the very basics of the #harmonica, #tinwhistle and #recorder. But occasionally I get the creative urge to actually make music too. Based in Auckland #NewZealand where I work as a #projecitonist / #DigitalTechnician for a #cinema as my day job while plotting to take over the internet with my #creativity one day. I love books, history, music (obviously) and movies.
And now I’m totally running out of things to say. I find it hard to write about music because I can’t really express with words what I’m trying to convey in music. Music has always been a very deep part of my person. Since as long as I can remember there has always been a tune in my head, and I can’t tell whether they were my tunes or things I picked up along they way. In my mind I composed my first real piece of music when I was 3-4 years old. Or did I? It came to me in a dream and I have never forgotten it. I play a bit of piano and guitar, I sing, and at the age of 12 performed in the hit musical #LesMiserable when it toured #Auckland in 1991. Performed in multiple plays as a teen, particularly Shakespeare. What more can I say? No idea. If you read this far then well done. Apparently it’s good to have an awfully long description with a bunch of key words in it but as I said before, I don’t know what my music is about, except that it some how chronicles, without words, what is going on inside this head of mine.
My favourite #Bible verse is “Our minds are full of evil and there is madness in our hearts while we live.” and while my music is not a conveyer of “evil” I would say that it is, to me, like a vessel upon which I navigate the madness of my heart. There is certainly some madness in there. Sometimes I don’t know up from down or inside from out. Music is the anchor that keeps the madness in my dreams the the sanity in my soul.

Tune Basics is the popular music #education series created by #NewZealand based #musician/content creator Kerin Gedge. It is designed to teach anybody who wants to learn the fundamentals or very basics of how to play #MusicalInstruments which includes #DiatonicHarmonica, #TremoloHarmonica with 24 holes, Tremolo #Harmonica with 16 holes, Tremolo Harmonica with 20 holes, #ChromaticHarmonica, kalimba with ten keys, recorder and #PennyWhistle (also known as #TinWhistle).
The aim of Tune Basics is to acquaint the student with clear graphic based #instructions for how to play simple and recognisable songs.
Please be sure to browse our #TABS list as often we will provide TABS that are yet to be animated into #Tutorials. In other words you may find TABS for songs that aren’t available on the channel.
TuneBasics believes that ANYONE can learn to play. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what your musical background is. If you can follow the simple instructions provided in these videos then you’re well on your way to becoming a musician. But don’t expect to “get it” right away. Practice will always make perfect. Sometimes you may need to watch these tutorials a few times to get the hang of it. Most songs on Tune Basics are broken up into simple manageable phrases so learn one phrase at a time! Pause, practice and then continue. And when you’re ready to move onto more complicated lessons check out #LiamWar at #learntheharmonica.com or #TomlinLecki at #tomlinharmonicalessons.com.

#ForHesAJollyGoodFellow is a popular song that is sung to congratulate a person on a significant event, such as a promotion, a #birthday, a #wedding (or playing a major part in a wedding), a wedding anniversary, the birth of a child, or the winning of a championship sporting event. #StreetsOfLaredo also known as the #CowboysLament, is a famous American #cowboy ballad in which a dying cowboy tells his story to another cowboy. Members of the Western Writers of America chose it as one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time.
Derived from the traditional folk song "The #UnfortunateRake", the song has become a folk music standard, and as such has been performed, recorded and adapted numerous times, with many variations. The title refers to the city of Laredo, Texas.

This tutorial is for a Recorder.
Tune Basics will typically avoid delving too deeply into technique or musical styles but will, where possible, provide the pupil with relevant links to professional musicians who can take the learner deeper when they are ready to move on from basic #lessons.
#TuneBasics also provides #HarmonicaTabs #TinWhistleTabs /#PennyWhistleTabs and #KalimbaTabs on the Tune Basics blog, link provided above.

This tutorial is for a Kalimba with 10 Keys Harmonicahttps://tunebasics.blogspot.com/2019/09/harmonica-tabs.html
“#BellaCiao" (#Italian; "Goodbye beautiful") is an Italian protest #folksong that originated in the hardships of the #mondina women, the paddy field workers in the late 19th century who sang it to protest against harsh working conditions in the paddy fields of #NorthItaly
Tune Basics is the popular music #education series created by #NewZealand based #musician/content creator Kerin Gedge.
For #AllSaintsDay, about 5 years ago, my then seven year old daughter had to choose a #Saint and do a small but interesting presentation about them.
So together we made this short animation about this amazing generous man who would go on to become known in modern times as #SantaClaus.
My daughter drew the pictures and narrated while I did a very rushed job at animating it with Adobe Animate.
The music is my own arrangement of #JingleBells which is in the #PublicDomain. It was performed and recorded by me using #LogicProX and I retain full copyright of this particular recording. Any company who tries to claim copyright will be contested against.
#SaintNicholas of Myra[a] (traditionally 15 March 270 – 6 December 342),[3][4][b] also known as #NicholasOfBari, was an early #ChristianBishop of the #AncientGreek city of Myra in #AsiaMinor (modern-day Demre, Turkey) during the time of the #RomanEmpire.[7] He is revered by many #Christians as a saint.[8] Because of the many #miracles attributed to his intercession, he is also known as #NicholasTheWonderworker.[c] Saint Nicholas is the #PatronSaint of sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves, children, brewers, pawnbrokers, and students in various cities and countries around Europe. His reputation evolved among the faithful, as was common for early #ChristianSaints, and his legendary habit of secret gift-giving gave rise to the traditional model of Santa Claus ("#SaintNick") through #Sinterklaas. #TuneBasics also provides #HarmonicaTabs #TinWhistleTabs /#PennyWhistleTabs and #KalimbaTabs on the Tune Basics blog, link provided above.
