Zelensky may mobilise 500,000 Ukrainians against Russia: The Frontline with Jerome Starkey
On this week's episode of The Frontline with Jerome Starkey Russian President Zelensky has hinted he may 500,000 more Ukrainian men in a move to continue the fight against Russia as the war moves into it's second year.
At a rare end-of-year address, the defiant leader admitted it has been a "difficult year" - but vowed Ukraine will fight on to victory.
Zelensky kicked off his address by stating: "This is a difficult year that is coming to an end."
However, he told Ukrainians never to lose "our resilience", adding: "We are fighting for a future to be chosen by ourselves not the Russian Federation."
This suggestion comes as winter starts to set in and both sides look to bolster their reserves or men and ammunition.
There is some suggestion Putin is unable to call on a second mobilisation before his election next year as it would damage his support before March.

Turkeys vs. mailman: Hilarious moment feathery friends follow postman 📬 🦃
This is the funny moment four wild turkeys closely followed a postman on his round. Eric Setunsky was driving through Marinette, Wisconsin, USA, on November 20 when he spotted his friend Todd Wiegmann on shift for the US Postal Service. Hilarious footage shows the USPS worker being shadowed by some unusual friends as a group of wild birds kept close to his pocket. Turning to see Eric, Todd was clearly confused by why the turkeys were following him as they circled him when he stopped near his van. Eric said: “I thought it was so funny not only because Thanksgiving was so close but because they were so eager to follow him. “They followed him right across the busy main road of town. “When I asked Todd later on he told me the turkeys were following him for a while and he was dodging in and out of different businesses doors to try to lose them. “Marinette is a small town where we are all familiar with each other and the local wildlife.”

Rescued sea lion refuses to go back in water after set free #shorts
A baby sea lion found on a busy road outside San Diego on Thanksgiving remains in professional care after refusing to go back in the water when brought to the beach by officers who responded. The Coronado Police Department (CPD) said on Instagram that the sea lion was seen crossing southbound lanes of SR75 near Leyte Road. Officers were able to get the animal safely into a crate and transport it to the shoreline. But when offered the chance at freedom, the little guy had other ideas. Police said the sea lion went to the water’s edge, took one look in the ocean, and promptly turned back to the comfort of the crate it had been put in. Workers from SeaWorld San Diego arrived shortly after and took away the sea lion, which has been named Gobble.

IDF exposes massive Hamas' Elite Quarter tunnel network in Gaza Strip
#israel #gaza #palestine
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently unveiled a comprehensive view of the tunnel network employed by Hamas' senior leadership in the "Elite Quarter" of the Gaza Strip. This revelation sheds light on the strategic infrastructure used by Hamas terrorists, providing valuable insights into their military operations in the region.
The Elite Quarter has been a focal point for Hamas' top leadership, and the intricate tunnel system uncovered by the IDF underscores the group's commitment to establishing secure and concealed communication and logistical channels.
IDF troops have secured Hamas' "Elite Quarter" in the center of Gaza City, including the area of the ‘Palestine Square’, from where Hamas’ administrative and military leadership operated.
The complex includes a large network of tunnels that connects terrorist hideouts, bureaus, and residential apartments belonging to Hamas’ senior leadership. This complex, both above and below ground, was a center of power for Hamas’ military and political wings.

Ukrainian Military asks Zelensky to mobilise half a million people to defeat Russia
#ukraine #russia #worldnews
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday (December 19) that the military had asked for an additional 450,000-500,000 people to be mobilised into the army, "a very serious number," he said addressing a televised news conference in the capital Kyiv.
He said he would need more arguments from the military to support the request and that top military and government officials were due to discuss the issue before it is put before the parliament.
Amongst the considerations, Zelensky said, was finances. Funding for Ukraine has been held up recently in both the U.S. and European Union amid political tussles as Ukraine fends off a full-scale Russian invasion.
However at the same news conference the president said he was certain that crucial U.S. and European financial aid would continue and also that he expected the European Union to approve a 50 billion euro aid package soon.
Zelensky said that conducting a mobilisation at such a scale would require additional financing.

Hamas play recordings of kids crying ‘save me’ to lure troops into booby traps
ISRAEL has claimed Hamas is using recordings of children screaming "save me, save me!" to lure IDF troops into death traps.
Government spokesman Avi Hyman spoke to The Sun about the particularly heinous methods used by the terror group and how Israeli troops are "struggling psychologically".
He said: "There's a lot of psychological warfare being waged by Hamas against our soldiers.
"We've heard reports of them setting up scenarios by which the soldiers would think that there's hostages in a specific area to then ambush them.
"So we've heard reports of them playing Israeli toddlers saying, 'Save me! Save me', you know, from within buildings that are booby trapped."
He even revealed shocking video evidence seen by Israel that shows the true extent to which Hamas are willing to go.

Israel topples sick Hamas statue with bulldozer in Saddam Hussein-style moment
#israel #gaza #palestine
The IDF has destroyed a Hamas monument that was built to glorify a deadly attack on Israel by the terrorists during the 2014 Gaza War.
Troops from the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion captured "Palestine Square" in the Shejaiya neighbourhood before toppling the sick statue.
The sick monument was pulled down by Israel's famous Caterpillar D9 which is known as the world's most indestructible bulldozer.
Famously called "The Teddy Bear", the 62-tonne monster bulldozer is almost impenetrable to guns and explosives and has mine-proof armour that can deflect rockets
The "Palestine Square" is the same place where Hamas terrorists paraded the released hostages a few weeks ago during the "fragile truce".
