The Truth About Class Action Lawsuits
So many class action lawsuits are SCAMS. Look at this $62 million Google settlement.
The lawyers handed out millions to leftist advocacy groups. They awarded themselves $18 million. $0 went to the victims.
“That’s just not right!” says Hamilton Lincoln Law Institute President Anna St John.
Her firm challenges class action settlements where lawyers make money, but the victims get nothing.
“It’s a huge conflict of interest,” she explains. “Six of the attorneys or Google employees involved in the case sit on the boards or sat on the boards of the recipients getting millions of dollars.”
Like the ACLU and other leftist organizations.
But you know who got NOTHING? The victims!
Lawyers win. Left-wing advocacy groups win. Most everyone else loses.

Classic Stossel: Campaign Moments and Message
What goes on behind the scenes of a presidential campaign?
Veteran campaigners like Bob Beckel, Mark McKinnon and Patti Solis Doyle share their war stories and reveal what really happens inside campaigns. They tell Stossel how campaigns try to micromanage the “message”, telling the story that THEY want told. Campaigns are often won and lost based on “moments” the public remembers.
A Classic Stossel from 2012.

The FBI and Media Don’t Tell You How Many Lives Guns SAVE
Hollywood portrays civilian gun owners as fools, more likely to do harm than good.
The FBI confirms defensive gun use is rare.
But researcher John Lott says the FBI data is wrong, that civilians SAVE lives all the time.

Let Charter Schools Teach
Government-run schools often fail kids. In Philadelphia, 29,000 students apply to escape to a charter school.
But only 7,000 get in, largely because the education/politician establishment won’t allow enough new charters to open:

Environmentalist Calls to Tear Down Dams Won’t Save Salmon But Will Waste Your Money
“End fossil fuels!” shout the environmentalists. They tell us to use “clean” energy… like wind, solar, and hydro power.
But now politicians and activists want to DESTROY hydroelectric dams!?
Yes, activists targeted four dams on the Snake River in Washington State.
They say the dams are driving, salmon extinct.
That’s just nonsense.
“All you have to do is to go and look at the actual population numbers to know that’s absurd,” explains Todd Myers of the Washington Policy Center.
The environmentalists plans would waste billions and destroy tons of clean electricity.
“We keep doing dumb things,” says Myers. “It’s more about feeling good than environmental results.”

The Fight Against Food Trucks
Politicians call food trucks "unfair competition" for restaurants—smother them with regulations.
For some entrepreneurs, they're a great first rung for entering the food industry.

The Nuclear Option
"Climate change is the existential threat!" warns Bernie Sanders and others. But if he really believed that, he should support nuclear -- the only technology that has a track record of rapidly replacing fossil fuels.
50 years ago, the fastest decarbonization ever happened when France successfully switched to nuclear power.
But environmentalists in the U.S. rarely support nuclear. Some even protest against it.
"I live in terror of the next accident," Harvey Wasserman, who runs the group Solartopia, tells me. "It’s a virtual inevitability that we’re going to have another disaster."
But NO ONE died from the one serious nuclear accident in the US, 3 Mile Island.
Fukushima was overblown, too.
Chernobyl was terrible, but that was a bad plant sloppily constructed to please Soviet dictators. No nuclear facility like that will be built again.
Nuclear is better than the alternatives.

Kamala Harris’s Track Record: Big Spending, Wokeness, Equity and Flip Flops
Kamala Harris appears to be “unburdened" by her past positions. She flip-flops on things like fracking, guns and healthcare...
Thursday, she'll speak at the Democratic convention. If history is a guide, there won’t be much clarification.
That's why I reveal her record here:

Let Them Gouge
Kamala Harris is set to propose a ban on price gouging Friday.
Sad her first big policy announcement is economically illiterate.
"Gouging" didn't cause inflation, Biden's spending did.
Her naive staff could learn from these Stossel in the Classroom students why “gouging” is good.

What Your Teacher Didn’t Tell You About Native Americans
Americans are taught that the native people were stewards of the environment.
Movies like Pocahontas sell that message.
But Wilfred Reilly’s new book, “Lies My Liberal Teacher Told Me” debunks this and other myths about America’s history.
Government guides for teachers say, “Native Americans lived in harmony with nature… They did not kill anything they could not use.”
I believed it!
But Reilly points out the Natives took slaves, set big forest fires to clear land, and often were just as cruel as white Europeans.
Our new video looks at myths American schools still teach.

Let Them Compete
Want to start a business? Imagine having to get your competitors’ permission first.
In 35 states, laws block certain types of new businesses from operating unless they get their competitor’s permission. One such law prevents Phillip Truesdell from operating ambulances in Kentucky.

If elected, this time will President Trump cut red tape? Last time, the “de-regulator” ADDED regulations when in office.
But he also reduced the EPA's control of people's lands, stopped dumb "Net Neutrality” rules, and much more, says Grover Norquist:

I also fear meddling might make things worse, like prohibition did.

Anti-racist?
It's no longer good enough to be "not racist", we're told.
You must be "anti-racist"!
Kmele Foster points out that same activists demanding "anti-racism" have re-defined racism. Now it even means things like supporting a tax cut.
