Jobs vs. Machines: The Rise of Artificial Intelligence
AI eliminated thousands of jobs last year. That’s what innovation has always done. Most Americans once worked on farms; today, only 1% do. That was a good thing, because people found other, better, less dangerous jobs. This will happen again because of AI.

Minneapolis adopted most every "progressive" law: $15 min wage, housing subsidies, "green" goals, lots of school spending, and on... Despite all that, the city's racial inequality is about the worst in the country. Government makes it worse by dis-incentivising work, says Jason Lewis:

Socialism Myths: Part 1
Socialism is now as popular as capitalism among young people. They’re told that disasters like Venezuela and the Soviet Union aren’t “real” socialism. It’s time to set the record straight. Here I debunk socialist myths:

You Paid For My Beach Home!
Government insures beach houses! That’s just reckless. As I reported years ago, it encourages idiots like me to do foolish things-- like build homes near rivers and oceans. Finally, one senator, Sen Rand Paul, wants to limit this handout:

The ESG Scam
Popular "socially responsible" investment funds advertise: “Make money AND help the world!” But they often do neither. Investing in “socially responsible” or “sustainable” funds usually means you pay higher fees to invest in feel-good nonsense. Even worse, "socially responsible" funds can backfire. Some green funds oppose fracking -- but the U.S. led all countries in reducing carbon emissions lately, mostly because fracking’s natural gas reduced demand for dirty coal and oil. Watch the video above for more about how "socially responsible" funds cost you more to accomplish nothing good for the world.

The Evil Rich?
Bernie Sanders and others on the left want higher taxes on "millionaires and billionaires." Would that be a good idea? Most rich people became prosperous by creating wealth. Jim Caruso took over a bankrupt brewery and turned it around by inventing creative craft beers. He now employs more than 100 people. The company he runs, Flying Dog Brewery, is worth millions. Caruso had a good answer when I asked him about the “unfairness” of some Americans having so much more money than others. The top fraction of earners does now own almost half America's assets. Caruso pointed out that Steve Jobs was worth $10 billion when he died, but since Apple sold more than 2 billion devices, Jobs collected just $5 per device. "I think Steve might have been underpaid here," he says. Most on the left don't see it that way. "The feeling tends to be that somebody like Steve Jobs took something away from everybody else," Caruso says. "But... what did Steve Jobs take? He had this idea, wouldn't it be great to have a thousand songs in your pocket... one of the most massively important tools for productivity and communication in life.”

The Skeptical Environmentalist
Environmentalist Bjorn Lomborg says we waste money in the fight against climate change. Governments spends trillions to fight climate change, but Lomborg says many of these policies are “not an efficient way of spending.” For saying this, Lomborg has been called "the devil." The Danish government even targeted him for his views on climate change. "I'm not trying to do something that's immoral or anything," he tells me. "I'm simply trying to make sure that we get it right." Lomborg says there are better things society should spend money on. He says we should spend on the “best things first,” things like maternal and newborn health and improving education, rather than squandering billions on pointless gestures toward stopping climate changes. You can watch the full interview above to learn more.
