In 2016, she became a certified victim’s advocate for victims of sexual assault. In 2017, she obtained certification as a victim’s advocate for human trafficking victims and expanded her certifications to include victims of domestic violence in 2018. In addition to her advocacy work with victims of sexual violence, Bonnie has worked as a volunteer and community partner with the
undocumented immigrant population since the late 1990’s.
In 2018, Bonnie returned to full-time education and obtained a master’s degree in sociology from New Mexico State University (NMSU),
graduating with honors in Dec. of 2020. The focus of Bonnie’s coursework while enrolled at NMSU was on immigration and its impact on communities across the United States as well as the intersection of trafficking and illegal immigration.
Bonnie is considered by many in the sexual violence responder and service provider space as a subject matter expert on human trafficking and immigration.
Bonnie is currently in the process of starting her own for-profit training institute, as she believes that
education is one of the best tools we have to end the plagues human
