This is an overland back country trip using the old pioneer roads to get the to Ghost town of Bodie in the eastern Sierra's that is North of Mono Lake, off of Highway 395. Weston Platinum Oval Nerf bars / Side Rails / side steps fill with water over time and rust from the inside out. These were on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma. This video shows how the water gets in and how much water I found in my rails after drilling a whole in them to dry them out. Some side rails manufacturers treat the inside of the tubing to prevent rust and also seal the tubes to keep water out. Apparently Weston does not. A poor design in my opinion. Automatic Shift lever in 2005 Chevrolet (Chevy) Corvette stuck in park because transmission lock solenoid will not disengage. Video was made to prove this was happening to get warranty work done as it was intermittent and would not happen when I took it to the dealer. Update: I took this video to the dealer to prove it was happening because they could not duplicate it. I had an extended warranty. The video got them to fix it. They replaced the shift lock solenoid have not had the problem since. Thank you for subscribing to my channel.
