In in this video we go looking for brecciated "blood jasper". This Jasper looks like chunks of the best steak money can buy when it's all wet and or polished! It has a high metal content and this gives it a great deep red coloration.

Not all gun cleaning brushes are made the same. They can of course be made out of the same materials but the trick lies with the construction of the actual bristles themselves. The bristles need to be sitting neatly in a spiral form around the wire of the brush head so that when inserted and removed from the gun barrel the entire brush is allowed to rotate as it follows the path of the barrel rifling; otherwise the brush elements (which should be phosphor bronze) will skip over the lands and grooves instead of maximising contact with them. Neatness in construction is key.

What to think about when solar charging a watch. They are not indestructible, especially when it comes to constantly overheating the battery beyond the manufacturer's specifications for operation. This is the primary cause of failure of a solar watch to maintain it's charge.

I Made an Atomic Battery from a ROCK!

Here we visit an old uranium mine and see if we can not find something radioactive AFTER 32 years since closing. Nothing above ground save for probably concrete leaching tanks/troughs are left. All mine shafts have been concreted over. Radiation levels (on the ground) around the site are very low but just above background levels. No radiation levels above background could be measured anywhere in the air. Radiation levels above some of the filled in leaching structures show elevated background levels 12" above the ground (see the very end of the video). Instead of new concrete being poured into the leaching structures to cover all radioactive residual materials, only waste concrete building/construction scrap was dumped into these areas. No radiation above background could be detected above these areas, however, we did not attempt to lower our detector into any of the large crevasses to get reading closer to the bottom of these concrete pits. All structures supplying electricity to the mine and any buildings have all been removed. There is evidence of extreme sport being conducted in the mine area (pretty stupid really) and no doubt creates much dust. Don't do this at home kiddies!

Shooting 23gr slugs from a REXIMEX RP 0.22 Cal PCP pistol. Yes, It can be done. We tested this without cheating, just out of the box, no regulator adjustment and it grouped within a 4cm circle at 25m. This is pretty poor but remember the rifle/pistol was handheld and it was untuned for slugs.

I will show you one technique for soldering We will use a small torch which uses a Propane/Butane mixture. it is NOT a jeweller's torch. A jeweller's torch will be the best best in many circumstances as it uses a Propane/Oxygen mix. It is possible too to use a Propane/oxygen torch for plumbing if you are careful, I have used such equipment many times with good effect, however, such torches will not e suitable for fine silver work as the just is usually too course in size.
