In this video I will show you how to replace crack, worn, or failed lower control arm bushings. Control arm bushing failure on R32 and all MK4 Volkswagens is common. You can press new bushings in to the control arm with either a shop press, or use the tool loaner program from your local parts store. Failure of a control arm bushing can cause noise in the front of a car and poor tire wear. On paper the 2019 Golf R is better in every way than the R32. More power, better tech, more room, advanced 4motion and so on. However, that doesn't tell the whole story. The R32 actually wins out in many ways that are hard to put on paper. The biggest one being those sweet R32 exhaust nosies from the VR6 engine! In this video we dyno my 2019 Golf R. The Golf R is 100% stock and rated for 288HP and 280FtLb Torque. This is a baseline dyno reading to know what improvements any future modifications may have. I love doing modifications to vehicles, I also love to truly see what the modifications do to the vehicle. The 2019 VW Arteon has replaced the VW CC. Today I am reviewing the Volkswagen Arteon R line. The R32 check engine light is on. Today we walk step by step on diagnosing a VW check engine light. Why does a check engine light come on? A system in the vehicle fails a tests, and causes the light to come on. There are tons of reasons why a check engine light can come on. Are wheel spacers safe? Does the wheel spacer you use matter? What is hub centric? Today I will show how you how to install wheel spacers properly and safely. We will be installing 10mm Spacers in the front of my MK7.5 and 15mm Spacers on the rear. In addition to the right spacers, we look at using the proper length wheel bolts when installing spacers. I picked up a new 2019 Golf R Spektrum. VW has 40 special order colors for the 2019 Golf R. The Golf R comes with a 288hp Turbo engine, all wheel drive, Upgraded brakes, and tons of technology. I am super excited to add this to the fleet of the R32 and turbo vr6 Golf. We will be doing a more deep dive into the tech like Park Pilot, Dynamic Chassis Control, and Race mode. The automotive industry has it's share of issues. One I see is mechanics saying they are working at bad shops. This drives me crazy. Good mechanics, good technicians owe their talents to good shops. This really hit home for me during a talk with students at UTI. I told them as they go throughout their career, to never settle and work for a bad shop, bad dealership, bad boss. Worn motor mounts, or engine mounts can cause noise, vibration, or harshness. Today we are replacing the engine mount and transmission mount with "performance mounts" The goal of the engine mount replacement is to reduce engine movement, but not create any engine vibration. Today we find and fix the water leaking inside my car. The carpet was soaked due to water leaking on the floor. This is due to clogged sunroof drains. In this video, I will show you step by step how to dry carpet, and padding, clean and flush sunroof drains, modify the drains so they wont clog, and leak test the sunroof drains. Why p0221 can be stored in the ECM. This fault is for the throttle pedal, but actually is fixed by repining the TVCM, or throttle body. This trouble code is a common TSI issue. There are many other faults that can point to this repair such as p1545 p0121 p0123 p0221 p0222. Today on the R32 we replace a bunch of broken interior trim. Must of the plastic on the R32 has not aged well. We will replace: Center console, radio bezel, lower dash trim, hatch struts, dash vent, battery box, and sunroof trim. Sadly this is a silly amount of parts to replace and they are not cheap. Was it dumb to replace all these parts new? Probably...
