Korean Practice; first vocab sheet, "beginner", Part 2.5
I'm reading off the list that I got here, https://keytokorean.com/grammar-blog/beginner/full-beginner-class-vocabulary-list/ , as well as adding my commentary along the way. Been here in Korea a day and it's nice being better versed in Hangeul but that was from my time in 2020 that really solidified things haha.
Yeah, so I went back and read the phrases but I didn't do all two hundred. XD. I did 100 and called it quits since I'm tired. Was trying to guess the meaning of the phrases and... When it was obvious enough for me to guess, I think I was able to figure it out thanks to the vocabulary practice earlier. lol.
Still, if you stopped me in the streets using Korean, I wouldn't be able to really speak Korean at all. LOL. But I guess I'll be better, going forth, should I have more practice during the day!

Apparently the last one was supposed to be "true beginner" and now this would be "beginner" but, to me, the whole thing is beginner so... Not changing it.
I did see there are now phrases to go with the new words but, uh, I am not reading those just yet lol. Maybe I'll find a way to include them but, uh, maybe I'll read them by themselves. Or, perhaps, the next video will be reading the phrases and calling it Part 2.5 . And, after that, make videos where I do 100 words at a time instead of the current rate of 200 words at a time. Whatever.

Reading vocab 1-200 and, perhaps had I shut up about commentary, I would have gotten further. Regardless... Still a good start lol. Kinda tired. XD

Meh, I think I needed a longer break lol. Got to page 88 and was like... Yeah, I think I'm doing good enough but want a break lmao.
No commentary, really, on this one! lmao

German Practice, reading news article from DW
Practicing my German reading by just picking a random article on DW.com: https://www.dw.com/de/uganda-verfassungsgericht-best%C3%A4tigt-anti-lgbtq-gesetz/a-68728961 .
Broken ass website that has no search bar and, also, the damn thing wasn't in English either for when I wanted to check and see if I understood it.
Can't be that hard to say "gays be mad" when they forget what the British Muslim woman said to one guy recently at a Pro-Palestine protest: "It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve! Shame on you, you despicable people!"
If the Christians can't uphold their laws, then we shall go for "bismallah" and have a global jihad to return law and order to this world!

As like the other ones, I end up stopping to do commentary since, ya know, I'm doing this and it's getting annoying lmao. It's a first time actually going through everything AND it's recorded hahaha. But like, one day, it would be nice to have a fully polished version of all of this.
For now, at least the idea is being executed for others to try out for themselves and do a better job than I was able to at this moment.

Ended up getting into a decent rhythm and got through the first 65 pages lol. Sheesh, I guess I'll almost be done with this particular step of my project. Probably will be some rest time, soon, but... who knows. Rest, what is that? ... I still haven't found it and I don't think "rest" exists for me.

Stopped a few times while doing this so as to leave some social commentary... lol... XD
I'm still trying to process my feelings on particular opinions that I have which are informed yet not exactly settled. As such, at least I have what I have and... Maybe it's not nice but, ya know, it can be corrected if someone has a better argument for a different opinion. Whatever lol.

First Book, Part 2-22 "AHU245 - Sterotypes in the Movie Aladdin"
This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
Well, that was a fun trip down memory-lane in all sorts of fashions. lol.
Stereotypes are patterns. So what, lol. However, after trying to unpack everything, I think we can finally agree that Aladdin is an amazing movie and that we should stop trying to censor it or put disclaimers on it.
Totally showing to my kids, without qualms about it.
Whole hub-bub chaotic bullshit about "cultural oppression" was absolutely ridiculous, to begin with. But, hey, at least I got to make a decent paper about it and then correct the necessary subversive elements that were placed in here to protect myself despite thinking everything is retarded and to fuck off and leave me alone.
Maybe... It helped not just get the professor onto my side but also help them assimulate into American culture.
Heh.

First Book, Part 2-19 "LAT101 - Mathematics in Daily Roman Life"
This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
As I ended this video, I had quipped "The Romans were better at mathematics than you are". Seriously, as we explore this last paper of mine in this book which I recorded (I skipped this and finished the rest of the book before coming to it so, while it is in the middle... I recorded this one last), just as it can be said that "Rome wasn't built in a day"... It may also one day be said that "Rome wasn't built without mathematics".
Amusingly, I had compiled this presentation and sent it in for the assignment to the professor and yet this was the first time I actually explored the "creating concentric ellipses" diagram and instructions graphic that I had included; holy crap, it works and despite looking complex it is actually quite simple. Like much of this other stuff which I had included in this presentation.
Like everything else here, I received an A. lol. I mean, like, shouldn't I have gotten an S for almost all of it? XD
This was a fun adventure of a presentation, though. Holy crap, just thinking of everything as I went along and then also tying it into recent history that I had become acquainted with...
Rome is fucking amazing.
It still exists, today; the form has just changed.

First Book, Part 2-21 "AHU245 - Reading the Writings of a Palestinian Author"
This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
I got choke up many times while re-reading my paper discussing having read a book for my Islamic Humanities course...
From the pen of one who has been in the desert of the Middle East to the eyes and heart of one who lived in the desert of Arizona... And just reread his reflections on that pen of Palestine... Yeah...
Technically... Palestine includes Israel since there are the Palestinian Arabs and the Palestinian Jews.
Why not name Israel as Palestine in Arab and live under the same government? Or, well, stick with the current name of Israel since it has been around for thousands of years whereas "Palestine" is about a hundred year old, or so, name.
I dunno. Still. I hope this helps in furthering peace in the Middle East, regardless of who is at fault or who is to be commended: it's just people, among people, trying to be peoples.
I dunno.

Reading aloud PHY241's "The Best Asteroid is the Asteroid Which Does Not Strike Earth"
Randomly found this paper that I wrote for my Quantum Mechanics course on Asteroid Day.
All governments have an obligation to protect us from asteroids and, if they fail this duty, should be overthrown.
However, the United Nations should be the primary organization to head this and, yet, it is a completely feckless organization and should be disbanded precisely because there is absolutely no confidence that they will ever be competently able to protect us from asteroids, even if the United States were to print $1 quadrillion to fund an initiative such as this.

First Book, Part 2-17 "COM263 - Intimacy and Love"
This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
For the COM263 papers, besides the last one, I wanted to just get the recordings done and then post them. Kinda just get the files uploaded and off my hard drive. As such, I came back to do a description, later. As in now. But that means that, unlike the other videos, it may not reflect anything like what I recorded. lol. Whatever, that's fine. Who cares? It's part of this whole process and, I mean, it's just interesting to have done and noted. Funny, given that "intimacy and love" is the last recorded video before I came back for writing these descriptions.
So yeah, it should be expected that, with a Christian, I see the terms "intimacy" and "love" in more of a neutral sense even if the mainstream culture implies a term of romantic or sexual concepts behind them.
It means more to me to be "intimate with a friend" as in furthering our friendship as people than... "oh we got intimate last night" in terms of saying that I got laid...
I never really understood why anyone needs to know about what me and a lovely lady got up to, besides to make sure that she doesn't have a husband who's gonna kill me if he finds out... LOL
I understand when other people use "intimate" as a euphemism, sure, but... I never have felt the need to use it in such a fashion.
It's weird how like, even in my periods of extreme doubt regarding my faith in Christ...
I have always been a Christian on the matter of "intimacy" and "love". Or, well, perhaps I have forgotten and maybe I was a horrible sinner that repented and God wiped my memory of it... Likely not, I just don't think I ever ... Thought about things in such a way. I dunno. It's weird, since I'm trying to remember things that used to be so fresh in my life and should be like yesterday, at the age of 35, and it's like ancient history if it ever even occurred. Maybe in a novel I was reading but that would be outside of me and not my heart, I guess? Dunno. lol.
People are weird.

First Book, Part 2-18 "COM263 - Movie: Day Without A Mexican"
This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
For the course, near the end of the semester, we were to watch this on our own time and then discuss it a bit as well as give our thoughts on the movie. I mean, it was a pretty decent execution and I loved the idea that ya make the bastard students do it on their own time, hahahaha. Yes, sure, I don't particularly like the whole concept of how universities are run and all that but, like, it's being run in the way which it is so we may as well play to it. ... We already have to do things such as read the chapter assignments before hand, like I had returned to high school or something, but... I thought it was a nice touch. lol.
Yeah, it's a movie and not reality. Even a documentary or a really decent simulation isn't reality, either. Still. It's trying to portray a particular political side of the debate and, ya know, it does help bring forward the emotional aspect even if it may not be completely accurate of the issue, itself.
The thing which I specifically called to mind in my commenting on my paper, six years later, is... Were the Mexicans illegal immigrants or legal immigrants? Even if, and I did note that something said that the economic impact of the Mexicans in California actually is positive... But while the economic impact is positive, potentially at least by the statistics and how they were argued... It life purely economic, like the Marxists would argue it is?
I guess that this paper of mine went towards a leftist bent. Oops. But like, ya know, you only have so much input and ya gotta go with that from time to time. It would be a waste of my time, for so little gain, to try and have a whole dissertation on the entire issue and pick apart the whole movie when, ya know, that's not the purpose of the assignment.
The assignment was a good and fun assignment to help us students group together, talk with each other, and then present to the professor our thoughts and findings.
"Intercultural communication" is the course that this assignment was for. As such... It was a decent assignment so, ya know, it doesn't particularly matter the paper's political seeming leaning when, ya know, it wasn't an assignment to solve all of the world's problems.
...
I commented about numerous things, as I have in all of these readings of my academic work. I dunno. It was a learning experience and, ya know, I am thankful for it. It was hilarious having the struck out "forced against my will" regarding why I was doing the assignment... XD The professor was slightly offended but it was at the end of the semester and like, hey, gotta have some fun. Why are we always so serious?
It's college. It's not the military.

First Book, Part 2-20 "LAT101 - Why Latin Essay"
This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
Make the pursuit of knowledge great again!
Amusingly, I felt the first part of the paper was just like a passion project, only, regarding looking up Latin arithimetic discussions but... Maybe we should and that would be the best use of the people of these times. lol. It may actually be those very discussions, which everyone thinks they know, which allowed for the Arabs to later symbolize and produce Algebra about 1000 years later which we use today. I have always felt that Arithmetic, "basic math", is the most difficult part of mathematics to understand and that, while we think of it as "basic" today such that it is only in "elementary" (foundations) school... The production of the elementary maths probably took for forever given how fundamental they are whereas we would have been focused on doing the projects and other things that "advanced" topics like calculus allows us to do.
Calculus is essentially advanced summation, given that Integrals are "Riemann Sums" named after Riemann who standardized that form of integration... Maybe that's how the engineers did the amazing things of then which engineers of today are surprised by and unable to replicate: they couldn't do "quik maths" or basic math like we could, sure, but they sure as hell knew the essentials of calculus and they discussed it all the time such that there is a plethora of arithmetic discussion available for the modern reader, in Latin, and no one cares because it's merely arithmetic so it's basic math that the retards should have learned in First Grade!
...
We modern people think we are so excellent in the time frame of human history and, yet, it feels like the ancients look at us as an upside-down people which wouldn't even be worth letting tie their sandals. lol.
Regardless, then the rest of the essay on "Why Learn Latin?" continues onto what I would expect have been the true potential of learning Latin but... At this point... It looks like the passion project is the essential project, and the essential projects are the passion projects...
What a weird world after the Coronavirus catastrophe.

First Book, Part 2-7 "PHI103 - The Wanderings Of An American Student Through The Supreme Leader'
This is me reading my first book. The PDF is available at https://www.linktr.ee/hackingcovfefe .
So I just finished this and, as I say at the end, I had a message from DJ Gandalf to attend to who is from the college I went to for making these papers and was from the TV Studio classes. ... I just told him, "maybe I could be the Ring Of Invisibility" and... I didn't realize it since I hadn't seen the message... And I just went through this whole story and describing everything that pops to mind and how it's all me except for, like in Dante's Inferno, the lady I have my eyes set on (I mean, maybe it's the one I think it is, now, but it's at least who I always eye: the image of the perfect feminine, as Jordan Peterson would say regarding archetypes).
"You are too mysterious to be anything but" is the response, lol. And that was after having recorded this video. ... I respond, maybe I'm just the wearer of the Ring Of Invisibility and... Christ is the true Ring. The Ring Of Rings.
Anyways, I don't know of anything necessarily prudent to discuss, more, than just recommending you watch this video like all other videos.
I don't care.
