what is a metronomes, why you need a metronome, the choice of metronomes
This video answers questions like what is a metronomes, do I need a metronome, do I need to practice with a metronome, what type of metronome is best for me. In the video we will take a look at the choice of metronomes and which metronome would be best for you to buy.
This is the second lesson in a GCH Guitar Academy short beginners guitar course that has been especially put together for absolute beginner guitarists to get you through the first few important steps you need to cover to start playing the guitar. Lesson 1 and 2 can be watched even before you start playing or you own a guitar. If you learn the basics of how to play the guitar correctly, you'll be far less likely to develop any bad habits.
For this lesson you don't need to be a guitarist or own a guitar as metronomes are important to all musicians and if you are learning to play any instrument you should be practicing with a metronome. Practicing with a metronome helps a musician develop fluency in your playing and makes it far easier for you when/if you start to performing with other musicians.

The Donner DST-152 is a Fender Strat copy described by Donner as being for an expert guitarist, however it is also the ideal electric guitar for a beginner learning to play the guitar on. This is the best Donner instrument I've every played and it is a very cheap electric guitar kit for the quality you get. The quality of build is extremely good and the sound is very good as well, with lots of options to change the sound. This Donner electric guitar comes with a padded case, a lead, a strap, an amplifier, a tuner, a capo, some picks, and some spare strings. Donner even get you started with some easy to follow lessons.
This guitar kit is part of a whole range of guitars and guitar kits that Donner have released this year, you can find out more about these guitars and kits in the video. Here's the Amazon link to the kits;

Lesson 26 of the GCH Guitar Academy fingerstyle or fingerpicking guitar course, how to play Estudio in C major by Fernando Sor (Op. 31 No. 1). An estudio is a study or a lesson and therefore this is a perfect guitar study to improve your technique and playing ability. However being a study it might take you a few weeks to get it perfect

This fingerstyle guitar lesson is part of a guitar course that teaches you how to play the guitar fingerpicking style, and whilst fingerstyle is most commonly used on acoustic guitars you can also play this style with electric guitar. Hopefully if you watch each of the guitar lessons in this course and practice what you are learning you will become an accomplished fingerstyle guitarist.
Fingerpicking style guitar is used in virtually all styles of music and therefore is really useful to learn. Whilst finger picking guitar is most associated with acoustic guitar you don't need to learn fingerpicking guitar on an acoustic guitar as it can sound just as good on an electric guitar. Fingerstyle guitar is used in classical guitar, folk, bluegrass, rock, blues, jazz and virtually any style of guitar you can mention.
This is a series of carefully designed progressive lessons that will carry you through from an absolute beginner on the guitar to a good level of proficiency in fingerstyle guitar. The GCH Guitar Academy guitar lessons are published to YouTube on a weekly basis just as if you were having private lessons but with the advantage of having the guitar lessons exactly when and where you want them. This gives you time to practise the lessons on your guitar between lessons so that you get the most from each guitar tutorial and achieve your goals as a guitar player.
You will need some basic knowledge of guitar chords to do this course and basic knowledge of how to read guitar tablature so therefore I recommend you view the following 2 videos before starting on this guitar course.

This left handed fingerstyle guitar lesson is part of a guitar course that teaches you how to play the guitar fingerpicking style, and whilst fingerstyle is most commonly used on acoustic guitars you can also play this style with electric guitar. Hopefully if you watch each of the guitar lessons in this course and practice what you are learning you will become an accomplished guitarist. This is lesson 25 and it teaches you about walking bass lines on guitar and then you will learn the song Only You by Vince Clarke (Yazoo) and later it was covered by the Flying Pickets.

Ibanez PIA review part 2, things to look out for on the Ibanez PIA3761 (SDG)
Ibanez Pia review part 2, a follow up to the original PIA review, to give you my thoughts after playing the Ibanez PIA for a few months and seeing how it performs in day to day use.
This is the follow up to the detailed review and tests of the Ibanez PIA3761 SDG I did over a year ago. Here's the original video if you want to watch it;
https://youtu.be/V_lzZlo0u9I
After seeing several reviews of the Ibanez Pia where the reviewer was just trying to show off and talk about themselves I decided to make a proper Ibanez pia review where the guitar is the star and I go through the Steve Vai signature Ibanez PIA3761 in detail looking at every component of the guitar. I review the Sun Dew Gold version of the Pia which is one of the limited edition first year coloured versions available. The review had an unhappy end, so it became necessary for me to make a second part to the video.
The Steve Vai signature series Ibanez Pia is the updated version of the Ibanez Jem 7V which was an excellent guitar. Because of the similarities in the Jem and the Pia I will be doing some comparisons between the 2 guitars using the Ibanez Jem as a base line. The Ibanez PIA3761 is an expensive guitar at over £3000 here in the UK, but you will have to decide if it's actually worth the money or not yourself. I have to point out that I have owned and used daily as a professional the Ibanez Jem 7V for over 15 years and it still looks great and plays great, the frets are just starting to ware out.
00:00 introduction
00:45 Ibanez PIA questions, answered
02:35 the Ibanez PIA vs the Ibanez JEM 7v
07:12 the PIA cut-outs
08:02 Ibanez Pia detailed pickup tests
11:53 The only thing I'd change
12:25 The sound of the PIA
