Do you immediately think about how it was during the days that Jesus walked the Earth with His disciples; or do you think about what “Church” looks like in the present-day culture? As John Fenn puts it, the Gospel has changed dramatically since it was birthed in Israel compared to what we see today. Christianity started as a relationship in Israel when God came to man. It went to Greece to become a Philosophy; to Rome to become a Religion; to Europe to become a tradition and part of the culture; and then to America to become an Enterprise.” Think about that! Jesus came to spend time with people, introducing God as the Father. As it leaves Israel it goes through all these changes to become what we see today in America. Of all the entities, Corporations are conducting studies to find out that in order to maximize results and productivity, you must first focus on relationships. Larry The Cable Guy Stand-Up Comedy at Liberty University & His Awesome Testimony -http://GregLancaster.org When Daniel Whitney takes the stage, applause and cheering are sure to erupt from the crowds. Some may not recognize that name, but they are sure to recognize the name that Whitney has made famous speaking on stages throughout America, “Larry the Cable Guy”. He’s known for his southern style of comedy and his well-known phrase of ‘Git-R-Done’. When Whitney recently visited Liberty University, he shared about his life that brought him to where he is today. Some may not be aware but Whitney actually grew up on a pig farm in Nebraska, loading cattle trucks. He had always wanted to be a comedian. Amidst the many characters that he had created, one seemed to catch the attention of others, “Larry the Cable Guy”. As he shares, “When I did it on the radio, it struck a nerve…” He never thought anything of it when it started. But, as he describes, “I ended up getting syndicated on three stations. I used to call in and do social commentaries…I called 27 stations, 5 days a week for 13 years.” Some may perceive Whitney as an “overnight success”. But his story reveals this was hardly the case. He points out how he never did drugs or alcohol, but in this area of work, as he describes, “you get in the entertainment business, it just pulls you in.” As he points out, two years ago, he rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. His heart begins to pour out as he shares his thoughts and concerns about so many of the things that he has done in his life. “I just feel horrible about some of the things that I’ve done; and unlike other people, everything that I did and said, is on tape for everybody to see. I’m proud of some things that I’ve done…but there are things that I’ve done onstage, now that I’m back in the fold, now that I’m back with my Savior, there’s things that I look back on and I wish I wouldn’t have done it.” Whitney continues to point out this important truth, “Men don’t forgive you, and I don’t care if men forgive me, Jesus forgives me.” As a man who has lived and experienced the wealth and success that entertainment and Hollywood offer, he continues to share that his happiest and most fulfilling moments were not when he was in the fullness of Hollywood, but when he was in the fullness of Christ. “I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life, and it has nothing to do with money. It has nothing to do with fame; because fame and money, and all the glitz never makes you happy…five years ago, I wasn’t as happy as I am now.” It is so powerful to witness Whitney being so open and truthful about his life, about his journey, and about where his true happiness comes from. It is so beautiful to witness God’s restoration and healing in someone’s life. Breakthrough is not simply financial breakthrough, but breakthrough in our spiritual walks with the Lord. There are many who are about to be brought into the Kingdom, and we need to be there to demonstrate the love and compassion of the Lord to each and every one of them.

But, this is hardly the truth. “…it's the one place on planet earth where nations get together and attempt to speak with one voice that's why their resolutions can make a big difference.” According to the Jerusalem Institute of Justice’s research, “approximately 40% of the UN Human Rights Council resolutions were against [Israel]”. This is taking place while nations like North Korea, Syria, and Iran carry out their daily actions of oppressive leaders, terrorism, and outright evil. The world looks at the United Nations as a defining factor towards world situations. “…with these repeated resolutions against Israel, it's easy to see why so many in the international community perceive Israel as a major cause of world problems.” As the Jerusalem Institute of Justice further explains, Communist nations teamed up with Islamic nations for the sole purpose of discrediting America while also crushing any Pro-Israel outcome during votes. “So, in 1975 the new-found communist Muslim voting bloc spearheaded the passing of a UN resolution that officially stated Zionism is a form of racism.” Ironically enough, according to Wikipedia, Zionism is the national movement of the Jewish people that supports the re-establishment of a Jewish homeland in the territory defined as the historic Land of Israel. To understand the outright contradiction this is, the Jerusalem Institute of Justice uses these words; “Which is kind of like saying the civil rights movement is racism and Martin Luther King is a racist.” Since the moment that President Donald Trump has taken over the Presidency in America, new leadership has been sending shock waves throughout the International Community. This includes his appointment of Nikki Haley as America’s Ambassador to the United Nations. After her first United Nations Security Council meeting, Ambassador Haley saw clearly through the smoke and mirrors. “The Security Council just finished its regular monthly meeting on Middle East issues. It’s the first meeting like that that I’ve attended and I’d have to say, it was a bit strange.” To her surprise, she points out a multitude of topics that were NOT discussed, “…but, in our meeting on the Middle East, the discussion was not about Hezbollah’s illegal buildup of rockets in Lebanon, it was not about the money and weapons Iran provides to terrorists, it was not about how we defeat ISIS, it was not how we hold Bashar al-Assad accountable for the slaughter of hundreds and thousands of civilians…” No. None of these. As Ambassador Haley addresses, this is what the United Nations Security Council discussed, “…instead, the meeting focused on criticizing Israel; the one true democracy in the Middle East.” As shocking as it was for those listening for the Ambassador to speak such blatant truth, she continues to highlight how America would no longer be repeating the decisions in previous occurrences. “I’m here to say, the United States will not turn a blind eye to this anymore. I’m here to underscore the ironclad support of the United States for Israel. I’m here to emphasize the United States is determined to stand up to the U.N.’s anti-Israel biases.”

Less than a year later, the city of Pensacola suffered over two feet of rain in less than a 24-hour period leaving many parts of the city in devastation, and some neighborhoods completely ruined. Regional, State and governmental leadership responded to the crisis. Governor of Florida, Rick Scott shared, “People are being evacuated from attics and areas never flooded before.” Florida Congressman Jeff Miller said, “We’re talking about, not a 25-year, not a 100-year storm, but probably a storm that may never have been seen a may never be seen again.” The same Biblical proportion of flooding then hit areas of South Carolina. When describing the aftermath, Governor Haley commented, “We haven’t seen this level of rain in the low country in 1000 years, that’s how big this is.” Not only was the weather greatly impacted, but the level of terrorism was soon to be on the rise as well. From the Boston Marathon Bombing, suicide bombers in Paris, France, the shooting in San Bernardino, terrorist shootings in Tel Aviv, Israel, the Orlando shooting, and the shooting of Dallas police officers. This is a country so entrenched in economic ruin, that the average citizen may spend 10 hours a week simply waiting in line for food. “From 4 o’clock in the morning, I’ve been standing in line,” a woman exclaims, “I am number 900. 900! ... There is no food. There is nothing.” In this country, with food trucks being hijacked and stores looted, the Venezuelan President, Nicholas Maduro, put the food supply chain under the army’s control. One mother expresses the struggle to feed herself and her children, saying, “Now we eat only two meals a day. If we eat breakfast, we don’t have lunch. If we have lunch, there is no dinner.” While possessing the largest proven oil supply in the world, the Venezuelan people are starving. Despite this reality, we can be very quick to forget the pain and suffering of others. As one tragedy after another takes place, we must remember to keep our empathy alive and not fall prey to compassion fatigue. It is too easy for us to disconnect from the reality around us, like witnesses of the attack in Nice, France, who recorded the brutal violence on their phones, as individuals were being run over all around them. We need to feel for these people as if it were ourselves, our own friends and families, experiencing it. We can’t think that, because we’re Americans, because others have to convert their currency into our own to purchase oil, that we are untouchable. Neither can we assume that we’ll be safe from financial collapse by dumping cash for gold. It has been observed that “there is not enough gold in the world to sustain the lifestyles Americans are living.” In a country where even its poorest people are richer than 70% of the rest of the world, widespread scarcity has yet to be seen. But our economy is shifting, and so many are unprepared for a world-altering collapse. In an ever-changing society, where digitized money is on the rise, we cannot depend on the dollar forever remaining the global standard.
