Waves newest plugin Space Rider features a rather rudimentary chorus, delay, and reverb and they don't offer too much in the way of versatile effects racks so there are a variety of other VSTs I would highly recommend researching before you decide. Links to all:

The ultimate vector synth engine // In-depth review of CUBE by Lunacy Audio
Reviewing CUBE, the 3D morphing synth engine by Lunacy Audio.
â–¶ Download CUBE: https://bit.ly/3t4tZOq
CUBE is a very interesting engine which reimagines vector synthesis and sample libraries. The sounds in this VST are absolutely stunning and can work in a wide range of genres. It has bass booming synth sounds, expressive strings, huge impacts/percussions, and VERY cinematic pads and textures. I haven't quite heard (or even seen) anything like it!

The most powerful drum synth I've ever used // In-depth look at Opal by Fors
Taking a deep dive into the rhythm machine & drum synthesizer, Opal by Fors. This Max For Live device for Ableton Live is insanely powerful!
â–¶ Opal: https://opal.fors.fm/
It's been a while since I've come across a plugin that oozes with such creative potential as Opal. The interface of this device is so minimal yet each sound engine is so powerful. And the sequencer for each engine is packed with about as many features as you'd want in an in-the-box sequencer. This truly is one of the top drum synthesizer and sequencer VSTs (or Max For Live device, at least) you can get for Ableton Live.

I made a probability sequencer for Ableton Live // Melodizer Black Max for Live Device
â–¶ Buy Melodizer Black: https://www.gourlierecords.com/store/p/melodizer-black
Melodizer Black is a probabilistic melody generator in the form of a Max For Live MIDI effect which can be used in Ableton Live. It can generate notes in any scale you desire and has a rich feature set including 14 built-in scales, polyphonic/monophonic modes, individual note probability sliders, external trigger mode and note/velocity range sliders. The end results is a rather expressive stochastic melody machine with a ton of power!
This is a great tool for a variety of creative explorations including ambient synthesis, drum sequencing, accompaniment to instrumentation, performance tool, and a chord generator. It is my first of hopefully many Max For Live devices to come!

Making your own sound panels // A comprehensive guide to sound absorption and acoustic treatments
Dealing with reflections in your study can at first seem like a huge headache, especially with the myriad of expensive solutions to add sound absorption to your studio or home theater. However with just some basic knowledge on the principles of sound absorption including NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) and knowing the benefits of each material such as mineral wool, fiberglass, and cotton batts, you can easily create a solution for your studio and hopefully save some money in the process as opposed to buying pre-made acoustic panels.

Creating an orchestra with a Casio SK-1 // KZO-LINA and KEYS Decent Sampler and Ableton Instrument
Using the synthesizing function of the Casio SK-1 to make an orchestration Decent Sampler library.
â–¶ Buy KZO-LINA: https://www.gourlierecords.com/store/p/kzo-lina-decent-sampler-library
â–¶ Free KZO-KEYS: https://www.gourlierecords.com/store/p/kzo-keys-ableton-instrument
In this video I demonstrate the unsung feature of the SK-1 that I think makes it more special than it already is which is the synthesizing function. A lot of videos demonstrate its capabilities to use the onboard 8-bit sampler to create really short lofi clips, but I think the ability to use the onboard engine and envelopes to make unique sounds is its strongest feature.
I used this engine to create the KZO-LINA Decent Sampler library which is a synth ensemble similar to the Solina synths from back in the day (later became the ARP Solina and now Behringer even has a version coming out). Arturia also has an emulation of the Solina but one of the main limitations of the hardware was its inability to mix, tune, or pan the sounds so I made a rather detailed Decent Sampler library to do just that.
â–¶ Download Decent Sampler for free: https://www.decentsamples.com/product/decent-sampler-plugin/
I also created a free Ableton Live instrument called KZO-KEYS which is an electronic piano pulling inspiration from Rhodes and Whirly keyboards, amongst others.
Thanks to Robert for testing these instruments! Be sure to give him a follow:

Exploring MPE with the Embodme Erae Touch
MPE (MIDI-polyphonic expression) is a great way to get an expressive amount of control while playing. Here I'm using the slide feature to effective "pitch-bend" 2 separate voices, which isn't possible with standard MIDI.

Making a Neutron do Dune (kind of) / Behringer patching with Oversynth, Waves Tune, and Crystalline
The Behringer Neutron is a dope little semi-modular synth... but can it Dune?
â–¶ Stream Fever Dream: https://www.gourlierecords.com/discography/fever-dream
This video is a quick tutorial on some advanced Behringer Neutron patching techniques. This patch is made easier thanks to the labels on my overlay which is by Oversynth. These extra labels make it easier to program some of the more advanced features of the Neutron without having to have the manual nearby. I can't recommend these overlays enough!
I also utilized Wave Tune Real Time which is a pitch correction software in order to ensure this patch stays in tune as opposed to the out of tune CV generated by the Sample & Hold generator. This actually work surprisingly well.

Generating random melodies with Ableton Live Suite // Melodizer free MIDI rack
â–¶ Download Melodizer for free: https://bit.ly/melodizer
Ever wanted an easy way to create generative ambient synthesis tracks or maybe just add some sweet accompaniment to some piano chords? Well I made an Ableton Live MIDI rack which allows you to do just that. Inspired by the Vermona Melodicer, I've created a rack in similar spirit which can be inserted into any Ableton MIDI track and can be used in similar instances when you'd user a sequencer. Because this uses Live's Random Rhythm Generator, you must have the suite version of Ableton and v11 or greater.
This is the first Ableton rack I've made available in my store and it's free. Be on the look out for more Ableton racks by subscribing to this channel and hitting the bell!

Cherry Audio Dreamsynth Sound Demo (No Talking, Galactic Pads Preset Pack Preview)
â–¶ Download the Preset Pack: https://bit.ly/galactic-pads
This is a demo of a preset pack I designed for the amazing Cherry Audio Dreamsynth DS-1. The sound design for entire pack is inspired by the Galactic reverb algorithm within the effects are of the plugin. Almost all of the sounds are large, spacious pads which are great for ambient or epic cinematic soundtracks. The total pack contains 46 presets and this video is a demo of 37 of them. I just demoed the sounds in order until I ran out of batteries. Check out the chapters below to listen to each. Enjoy the performance!
The reverb algorithm used in Dreamsynth was also turned into its own plugin which I also made a review on called Cherry Audio Galactic Reverb. I'd highly recommend checking it out: https://youtu.be/wrVbtjbXVQs

FEVER DREAM / Behringer Pro-1 & Neutron Ambient Synth Jam / Cinematic Soundtrack Concept
PATCH DETAILS BELOW. As always I'm experimenting to see what type of content you all resonate with and this is a bit of a shot in the dark. I filmed this improv last week which was initially to just log the idea and patches made on the Behringer clones but wanted to throw it here to see if people like this kind of content (let me know below if you do). This spawned the idea of SCENE, a series where I mess around with synths to create large ambient patches and soundscapes with the hopes of inspiring cinematic scenes. Future videos might have some visuals in them if I explore this concept more and I'd also collaborate with visual effects artists to create something beautiful..
This exploration is more of an ambient synth vibe created at a time when I've been studying Hans Zimmer's Dune soundtrack.

PATCH DETAILS
â–¶ Behringer Neutron:
This patch idea really spawned this whole thing. My Assign is set to my mod wheel which I am controlling with a foot pedal (which I learned how to do thanks to my Oversynth overlay.
- Assign OUT to Sample & Hold Clock IN.
- S&H OUT to Attenuator 1 IN
- Att 1 OUT to Osc 1+2 IN
What I thought this would create is as my mod wheel goes up my S&H clock speed would increases but instead it functions as more of a gate so everytime I turn my mod wheel (pedal) up it generates a new random CV from the S&H generator which sends that to my Osc pitch, generating a random note. So every time you see my right foot bounce, it's me sending a random CV to my Oscillators. Now obviously a random note is useless when trying to play in key so the audio signal is then run into Ableton where it hits Waves Tune Real Time to pitch correct it into key. Combined with some glide time this leads to some interesting sounds coming out of the Neutron which almost make it sound like some distorted arabic stringed instrument than a synthesizer. It's also hit with some Baby Audio Crystalline reverb.
â–¶ Behringer Pro-1:
This is a very simple patch with Osc 1 as sawtooth and Osc 2 as triangle with a bit of noise and an LFO sweep on the filter. I'm using this as a drone so the click sound you hear at the beginning is the sound of me activating the drone. The drone notes are controlled using my Launchpad Pro MK3 which you can see me tapping every now and then. It too is hit with some Baby Audio Crystalline reverb which gives it some huge space and almost a brass-type sound.
â–¶ Ibanez Guitar:
All audio from this comes from United Plugin's Electrum with a simple patch I made which uses a pretty clean signal but runs it through some modulation, delay, and reverb.
â–¶ Room Mic:
I've been keeping active room mics on as their own tracks to record me hitting switches and picking up the ambient guitar sound. This is mixed almost entirely wet with huge delay and some Crystalline. This just adds more ambience and also picks up some of the natural picking sound from the guitar which blends in nicely with the processed guitar signal.
Let me know below if you enjoy this Vignette and if so I will produce more!

Best way to make any sound LoFi - Tape Saturation
Who likes my new lofi plugin? I know this isn’t anything new but wanted to hear for myself what it sounds like running some clean drum samples through a tape recorder. Ultimately I’ll be making my own samples and processing them through this and doing the same for some decentsampler instruments. You can scoop one of these recorders for $20 on eBay with tapes. Drum sample here is the Dead 1975 pack from Circles Drum Samples
My Free Music Theory Cheat Sheet - Quick Guide to Scales & Modes

If you're like every other musician you probably are (or at some point) struggling to grasp music theory. No problem! I have made a cheat sheet to make this concept simpler! Click the download link above to scoop this sheet for yourself. Print it out and keep it wherever your instruments are so you have it handy at all time!
I've been using a dumbed down version of this for a few years but I finally designed one that has as much theory as I could possible pack on a small sheet!
