Yesterday, we got presented with an absolutely awful Doctor Who Children In Need special that completely ruins the iconic villain, Davros, creator of the Daleks. Russell T Davies has since confirmed that we will no longer see this character be disfigured or be attached to his "wheelchair" because it reinforces negative stereotypes around disabled people but the funny thing is, actual wheelchair users hate what he has done. As part of Doctor Who's 60th Anniversary, the show's second serial "The Daleks" will be airing once again but this time in colour. Having looked at all the images provided to us by the BBC, I have to say that this looks very special. However, I am afraid that due to the shortened runtime, key parts of the iconic story will be cut out and as a result, the whole plot will feel a little bit stitched together. Nonetheless, to be able to finally watch an official colourised William Hartnell story has me excited beyond belief.
