This September I have decided to do something different and upload rare films that have really influenced me as a creator. While I don't like to overtly pirate media, I do think it is necessary to do so when the media is otherwise impossible to obtain by the average person. It is crucial that art be available to everyone. N.Y., N.Y. (subtitled A Day in New York) is a 1957 film by director Francis Thompson. The film is a collection of scenes from New York City recorded through special lenses, prisms and mirrors giving it a Cubist-Dadaist look. Eight years in the making, Thompson shot the images with a Kodak Cine-Special. The film's original negatives sat under the director's bed for nearly thirty years. It won the Short Film Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

This is the last Townton music video I am uploading for the foreseeable future, which is a very melancholy moment for me. It has been an invigorating experience to do all of these edits for him, and I hope to work more with him in the future like this. Here's to the future.

It is crucial that art be available to everyone. A documentary video about the B.I.T. Suicide Box-a motion-triggered camera developed by the Bureau of Inverse Technology (a private information agency), and installed within range of the Golden Gate Bridge to capture a video record of anything that falls from the bridge, and provide an accurate measure of the suicide rate. The tape points to confusing roles for technology within contemporary culture.

This was a song I had how to turn into a music video, so I didn't bother having an idea.

Highlights several narratives revolving around video surveillance – not to reiterate the conventional privacy argument, but rather to engage the desire to watch surveillance materials, and society’s insatiable voyeurism. Tran T. Kim-Trang is a Vietnamese-American artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. She works across multiple media, including video, new media, and installation. Major themes in her works include visual dynamics, immigration, biotechnology, and relationships to technology. She has exhibited work at the Museum of Modern Art (1999) and the Whitney Biennial (2000). Tran is a Professor of Art and Media at Scripps College in Claremont, California.

A music video I made for the wonderful Townton, who doesn't get nearly enough love for what he does. Let's make the world a better place and send some nice feelings his way. I tried to make a simple edit that would still be evocative. Here's to hoping I did a good job.

Townton wanted to make sure more of his work is associated with wholesome and happy things, and I can't think of anything better than spreading some out-of-seasonal joy.
