When you don't know how you want to paint a figure for the Miniature Showcase, you turn to your friends for help. In this case we opted to leave the Exterminator in Comstar, but paint an effect that would imply that it was activating or deactivating the Chameleon Light Polarization Shield. I think this is one of my favorite figures so far to make it to the Miniature Showcase. Danai Liao-Centrella's mech was probably the most intimidating. Between the bright blue color, and the tiny detailing, it was a challenge that worked out. They're vampire bats. Seems like a simple model to put in the Miniature Showcase, but honestly, DON'T over think this. They're board game pieces, not museum display pieces. So the Witches featured in this Miniature Showcase were a bit more of a stretch than I was expecting. I wanted sort of a grey undead tone to them so I took a moss green and mixed it with gray for the dress and hood, and then mixed grey with some pale flesh for the skin. After drybrushing that over a neutral gray base, I washed them with Army Painter Dark Tone. It worked WAY better than I was expecting. Probably the largest figure to grace the Miniature Showcase, the King Crab is a veritable beast of a mech at 100 tons and full of hurt.
