NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
Granny's Best Buttermilk Biscuits
2 cups Self-Rising Flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup whole buttermilk
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Preheat iron skillet on medium heat
Sift the flour and soda in a bowl. Add shortening and blend with a blending fork until shortening pieces are about pea size. Add milk and mix with fork. Sift the surface of counter and put the dough out on it. Sprinkle with flour and knead 8-10 times. Pat dough down 1/2" high then cut out with biscuit cutter. Place biscuits in greased cast iron skillet and bake 20 minutes at 450 degrees.
Take out of oven and melt butter on top of biscuits while hot. You can pat the tops of biscuits with flour before baking if you prefer, my granny always did.

Ham
INGREDIENTS
One - 6 to 8 lb Ham
3 cup of chopped pineapple
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon Garam Marsala
1 teaspoon chili or chipotle powder
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon turmeric (Turmeric)
2 to 3 cans of sliced Pineapple
How to prepare :
1. Thaw the ham and place it in a bowl.
2. Mix all the ingredients of the marinade and pour the mixture over the entire surface of the ham and refrigerate for 1 hour or more. Remove the marinade from the ham and place it in a saucepan.
3. Bake at 300F for 1/2 hours to soften the inside of the ham. If your ham weighs more than 8 pounds, bake it at this temperature for 1 hour. Increase the heat to 450oF and bake another half hour to brown the pineapple.
4. Add pineapple to ham holding with toothpicks if necessary.
5. Bring the leftover marinade to a simmer and cook over medium heat until you get a thick mixture. Spread the glaze over the ham and serve.

Package frozen grated purple yam
or boil about 2-3 cups of purple yams, peeled and grated
1 can condense milk
1 can evaporated milk
1/2 can of coconut milk
1 stick butter Leave some to butter the serving dish)

1-2 drops of purple food color
Optional: add ube flavoring if it is available in your area
In a nonstick deep pan, place the ingredients together.
Cook for about an hour stirring constantly to prevent from sticking to pan

SERVES 2
1 ½ CUP MILK
A PINCH OF SALT
1/4C. WHITE RICE
1/8C. RAISINS (I LIKE GOLDEN)

CINNAMON SUGAR
NUTMEG (OPTIONAL)
Put the milk in a medium saucepan and bring to a low boil. Add rice and raisins and stir then put on a lid and cook on lowest heat for 15 minutes. Open and stir well, put cover back on and cook another 15 minutes. Take off cover and stir. You will cook it until it is creamy, and rice is soft. It should take another 10 minutes or so making the total cook time around 40 minutes. Cook time can vary depending on the amount of heat used. Once the rice is creamy and soft, remove from heat and add 1 Tbsp. Sugar and 1 Tbsp. Butter. Stir well. Put in serving cups and top with a pat of butter and cinnamon sugar. Can use nutmeg if desired. Serve warm or cold.

NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE:
1 LB FRESH SUMMER SQUASH
1/8 CUP WHOLE BUTTERMILK
1 1/2 CUP SELF-RISING FLOUR
SALT & PEPPER
CHOPPED ONION IF DESIRED
Wash squash and snip off ends with a knife. Cut squash in 1/2 inch thick pieces. Cut circle pieces in half. Place in a medium bowl and pour buttermilk on it and mix well with your hands. Put 1/2 cup flour on the bottom of pie plate. Add half of squash. Salt and pepper generously. Using a sifter coat squash well with flour. Pour in remaining squash and repeat by adding salt, pepper and flour.
IRON SKILLET, WOK OR LARGE SKILLET
COOKING OIL (CANOLA, VEGETABLE OR CORN OIL)
Put enough oil in skillet to be about 1" deep. Oil must be HOT. Put a breaded piece of squash in oil and once it floats and sizzles WELL, your oil is hot and ready. It takes a good 20 minutes to fry up squash. DO NOT RUSH, Flip a maximum of three times. Let squash sit in hot grease until it is golden brown before turning it over. Add more oil after turning once if needed. You may have to rotate squash from edges to middle so all will brown. Fry until it is golden brown. Take out with large slotted spoon and place on a paper towel covered platter/plate

Ingredients:
All-Purpose Flour: 120 gm
Sugar: 70 gm
Baking Powder: ½ tsp
Baking Soda: ½ tsp
Eggs: 2 pcs
Salt: ¼ tsp
Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: 2 tbsp
Milk: 2 tbs
Vanilla Essence: 1 tsp
Oil: 50 ml
For Ganache:
Amul fresh cream: 100 gm
Dark Chocolate: 200 gm
Unsalted Butter: 10 gm
Method:
Step 1: For the ganache, take 100 gm cream in a non-stick pan. Bring it to boil on medium flame.
Step 2: After one boil switch off the flame and add chopped dark chocolate and butter. Mix it well. There should be no lumps.
Step 3: Transfer chocolate ganache into a bowl. Let this ganache rest and with time it will thicken.
Step 4: To make a cake sponge, in a large mixing bowl take two eggs. Start whisking them.
Step 5: Add sugar, vanilla essence, and oil. Continue to whisk until sugar dissolves.
Step 6: Take a sifter and sieve all-purpose flour, Cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Step 7: Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients using the cut and fold method.
Step 8: Use milk to make the batter of pouring consistency. For this recipe, I have used 2 tbs of milk.
Step 9: Meanwhile, keep the oven for preheating at 180 °C.
Step 10: Take a greased (or lined with parchment paper) baking tin and pour the batter into it. I have used an 8” round pan for this cake.
Step 11: Bake it in a preheated oven for 25 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.
Step 12: After the baking is done, remove the tin from the oven. Let the cake rest for 5 minutes before you de-mold it.
Step 13: To assemble the cake, cut the cake sponge into two horizontal halves. Place one layer on board and spread some ganache on it. Add chopped and crushed chocolates.
Step 14: Place the other half layer on top of it and smoothen it with chocolate ganache. Cover the sides of the cake with ganache and smoothen it too.
Step 15: Cover the top of the cake with your choice of chocolates. Finally, drizzle some chocolate sauce on it. Let the cake rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.

5-6 Leftover Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits
Spray a 9x9 or 7x11 pan with cooking spray
4 eggs
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 can evaporated milk
1/2 cup water (water and milk should total 2 cups liquid)
2 cups of whole milk can be substituted for evaporated milk and water.
1 stick salted butter (melted)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Add eggs, sugars, milk, water, spices to batter bowl and whisk well. Crumble biscuits in the bottom of pan then pour the liquid mixture over the biscuits. Let this sit and soak for 20 minutes. Place in oven and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until set . If cooking in small toaster/convection oven bake at 300 degrees for 40 minutes or until set. Enjoy warm or cold!

Mix sugar and softened butter until smooth. Add one egg at a time. Mix until smooth. Add flour...mix. Add 7Up slowly until smooth. Mix in lemon extract.
Preheat to 350 degrees.
Spray or grease and flour a two-piece tube pan. Pour in batter!
Line the outside bottom of the tube pan with foil to prevent spills while baking.
Baked for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

o me, the thought of being able to actually cook Instant Pot Ribs in an hour is still unbelievable. Not only cook the Ribs but cook them to the point you really want to eat them because they are the right texture and truly fall off the bone goodness.
Update: Things I've learned since this video was uploaded on July 19th, 2019
1) Removing the membrane is the gold standard, yet when cooking under pressure the rules can change. Removing the membrane risks the ribs just falling apart when removing them from the Instant Pot.
2) If you would like to remove the membrane you could reduce the cooking time. Try for around 25 minutes.
3) Using less liquid? This works very well, too. You would add enough liquid to come up to the Instant Pot rack insert, then place the ribs on top of the rack. Cook for around 25 minutes.
4) The method in the video results in very very tender ribs that fall of the bone. So good!
