Vintage Car Rally ride Light water Valley
Enjoy the open road before you've even taken your driving test? The Vintage Car Rally puts youngsters behind the wheel of their very own vehicle.
Themed around the Yorkshire countryside and coast, this is a great opportunity to let the kids practice driving their very own car and, best of all, Mum and Dad don’t have to worry about the family saloon coming back with a large dent in the bonnet.

We’re proud to welcome The Flying Cutlass to the shores of Skeleton Cove as she drops anchor after a treacherous coastal voyage from Scotland.
Part of our landmark Skeleton Cove development and located adjacent to Skull Rock, The Flying Cutlass provides traditional pirate-themed family fun for guests of all ages. Whilst not as hair-raising as The Black Pearl , this ride still gives a good amount of air time and plenty of ‘butterfly in the stomach’ moments.

Flamingo Land Zoo Hippos
The common hippopotamus or hippo, is a large, mostly herbivorous mammal in sub-Saharan Africa, and one of only two extant species in the family Hippopotamidae, the other being the pygmy hippopotamus.
The name comes from the ancient Greek for "river horse". After the elephant and rhinoceros, the common hippopotamus is the third-largest type of land mammal and the heaviest extant artiodactyl.
Despite their physical resemblance to pigs and other terrestrial even-toed ungulates, the closest living relatives of the Hippopotamidae are cetaceans (whales, porpoises, etc.) from which they diverged about 55 million years ago. The common ancestor of whales and hippos split from other even-toed ungulates around 60 million years ago.
The earliest known hippopotamus fossils, belonging to the genus Kenyapotamus in Africa, date to around 16 million years ago.
