Before the Dome of the Rock we see today, there was another temple built on the Temple Mount aside from the Jewish Temple. This temple was built by the romans and for a long time there was no archaeological evidence besides a few historical records. However the modern walls of the Temple mount give us a clue.

Acts 2:41 tells us that three thousand people were baptized following Peter’s sermon at the Temple Mount. That’s a lot of people! The traditional theory is that these new believers travelled a ways from the Temple Mount to get baptized in the river. However, archaeology reveals to us some very interesting facilities located on the south side of the Temple Mount that would have accommodated such a number of baptisms.

“Apart from me you can do nothing” is easily in Jesus’ top 10 most controversial statements. In this case He is talking about the fruit (what we produce) from the branches (us) grafted into the vine (Jesus). Continuing our study of John 15:1-11, this lesson explains what this statement means and gives practical applications for what types of “fruit” you can be producing in your Christian walk.

In gardening pruning is the process of thinning out the plant so that it can produce more fruit. This means removing branches or growths, and sometimes a lot. In a spiritual sense this is not as pleasant as it sounds. You are the branch that is going to get pruned. Prepare for pain ahead! This lessons continues our study of John 15:1-11 with practical applications on the spiritual process of pruning.

Dr. Eliat Mazar is a renowned archaeologist whose discoveries helped uncover the biblical record under Jerusalem. One of those discoveries was a bulla, also known as a clay seal that would have been used to seal letters. Hundreds of bullas have been found and they typically carry the symbol and name of the writer (such as a king, official, or scribe). This particular bulla was found on the south side of the Temple Mount and provides evidence of one of the most famous old testament prophets.

What makes a carpenter over a hobbyist? What makes an athlete over a weekend warrior? What makes an expert over a fraud? Buying the right clothes, practicing the proper language, and participating in certain activities can give us the illusion that we are more qualified and producing more than we actually are. So what makes a Christian over just acting like a Christian? John 15:1-11 clearly states that as followers of Christ there is only one source we can plug into to bear fruit: God. This lesson provides practical applications for how you can be certain you are grafted in God’s vine and how to stay grafted in the vine.

A common phrase you might hear in Christian circles is “God’s timing is not our timing.” It’s not a direct quote from scripture, but there might be reason to consider it. In this special theatrical presentation, we meet the lame man from Acts 3 & 4. Every day he sits at the Beautiful Gate begging for coins until he is healed by Peter and John. What we often miss is that this man is nearly 40 years old! This means he likely saw Jesus come to the Temple during His ministry. Have you ever thought about why Jesus never healed him himself?
Thank you to God’s Gathering Place in Conover, WI, for letting us film.

BASICS OF APOLOGETICS: Why are there 4 Gospels? (Session 9/10)
Watch the entire series here: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/christianbasics/
The differences found in the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) are often used to discredit the life of Jesus and as a reason to not trust scripture. This perspective often comes from a fundamental understanding of what these books are. As the books talk about the life of Jesus we are tempted to think of them as biographies. But compare any of the books to a modern biography and you will find the Gospels to be lacking quite a bit to fit the biography category. Are the differences between the Gospels and the events they emphasize intentional? Prophecies from the Old Testament shed light on this problem and provide a better framework to read the four Gospels as they were intended.

BASICS OF APOLOGETICS: How we got the Bible (session 8)
Watch the entire series here: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/christianbasics/
How did we get our modern Bibles? This is likely a common question you have heard and wondered about. A common misconception is that our Bibles are a very recent creation. Not all of the books in the Bible were written at the same time and not all writings were considered God-inspired. This lesson traces back the history of our Bible to the very first writings all the way up to our modern printed Bibles. You will learn how our current canon got put together and why you can trust the accuracy of modern translations.

BASICS OF APOLOGETICS: Is the Bible reliable? (Session 7/10)
Watch the entire series here: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/christianbasics/
Many say they can’t trust the Bible because it has been changed over time. The popular narrative is that the Hebrew people didn’t have a written language until 450 B.C. and much of scripture was written later. However, if we look at the facts, we can trace back the preservation of scripture throughout time. This lesson will give you an overview of how old and accurate our modern scriptures are, and how old the texts are.

BASICS OF APOLOGETICS: Historical Prophecies (session 6/10)
Watch the entire series here: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/christianbasics/
Fortune telling today is as popular as it was in antiquity. But the attentive observer will note that predictions tend to be vague to retrofit events more easily. Their prophets also tend to have imperfect track records. The Bible is one of the only religious books to contain a multitude of prophecies about world events, and specific instruction on how to verify the credentials of a prophet. This lesson provides an overview of Old Testament prophecies, when they were written, and when they were fulfilled.

Thanksgiving Blessings (recorded at Eaglebrook Church)
DONATE: https://evidence4faith.org/give/
Happy Thanksgiving!!! How has your year been? It can be hard to see the good things when your year has been filled with heartache, pain, and disaster. Often, we can fall into depression and start to believe that God has abandoned us. This is not what scripture teaches us. Through the examples of scripture and his own personal experience, Michael explains how we can apply scripture to difficult times and find the blessings in the suffering.

ARMOR OF GOD: Session 7 | The last overlooked piece…, 8/8

Watch the video/whole series: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/armorofgod/
This session concludes our Bible study in Ephesians 6:10-20 on the Armor of God. There is one last piece that is often overlooked missing from our armory yet: prayer. A key part of relationships is communication. If we have a relationship with God, we should be talking to Him often. That is what prayer is: talking to God! Paul instructs the Ephesians to be praying at all times! How often are you talking to God throughout your day?

ARMOR OF GOD: Session 5 | The Helmet of Salvation, 6/8
DONATE: https://evidence4faith.org/give/
Watch the video/whole series: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/armorofgod/
The Helmet of Salvation is often identified as the moment we are saved. However, Paul is writing to Christian who are already saved and salvation is not something that can be earned or has to be earned daily. So what salvation is Paul referring to? The Armor of God is about spiritual warfare and defending against Satan. A blow to the head is just as deadly in real life as a blow to your mind is deadly to your faith. Put on your helmet!

ARMOR OF GOD: Session 6 | The Sword of the Spirit, 7/8
DONATE: https://evidence4faith.org/give/
Watch the video/whole series: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/armorofgod/
The Sword of the Spirit is not quite the last item in our armory. The Roman sword was ideal for thrusting and stabbing. When used in conjunction with the rest of the armor, it is very effective. However, to use any of the armor effectively, especially offensive weapons, soldiers need training. It is the same principle in spiritual warfare. The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Just like a soldier trains daily for the day of battle, we need to train daily in the Word of God to stand firm in the spiritual battlefield.
