"My generation dropped the ball"—a 70-year-old church member told me his regret
I have the privilege of speaking to a lot of different churches, Bible studies, and groups of all ages. Sometimes they have some very interesting insights to share with me. One elderly gentleman told me about why he thinks his generation didn't do a good enough job at raising the next generation of Christians.
You don't have to be worried about the next generation if you take the correct actions NOW! Don't leave it up to chance—teach your kids what they need to know to be confident, lifelong Christians. Consistency gets results
Last Saturday I was down at Mission Beach giving out free hot dogs and witnessing to people. Our group has been doing this once a month for years. Sometimes it goes great! ...Other times, so-so. But the key to getting results is consistency.

Ellen vs. Mark: a battle of worldviews
In the Ellen Degeneres/George W. Bush controversy, there's a deeper issue than how we treat our enemy: it comes down to our underlying worldview. When different worldviews clash, how do we know which is correct? Is it just an opinion, like ice cream preference? Or is it based on the truth that comes directly from God? The answer is critical.

How do you treat your enemy?
Ellen Degeneres was recently criticized just for socializing with President George W. Bush at a football game. Among other voices, Mark Ruffalo claimed that until President Bush is "brought to justice", kindness must not even be considered. This raises the question, how do we treat those we (strongly) disagree with, our "enemies"? Jesus had some ideas about this.

Should we read the Bible literally?
In my recent interview with Dr. John Yeo of Southern California Seminary, we got to talking about Biblical interpretation (aka. hermeneutics). When should we take the Bible literally, and how do we know? Dr. Yeo argues that this issue is a lot simpler than many modern Christian scholars make it out to be.

How to teach hard truths
I was recently up at Green Valley Lake Christian Camp speaking to a group of high school students about some tough subjects. A lot of times it's scary talking about controversial topics, especially with people who don't agree with you. But there's actually a secret formula, taught by Jesus in the Bible, for how to go about doing this in the best way possible.

Witnessing at a convention
A lot of people didn't expect to see a Christian apologetics booth at the LA Apartment Owner's Convention... And to be honest, I didn't really expect to be there. But I was given an opportunity to share the word of God, so I took it. God often works in unexpected ways, at unexpected times and places. The question is, are you ready to be used by God at any time he so chooses?

How could a good God commit genocide?
If you were suddenly asked this question like I was, would you know what to say? This is a very common barrier to belief for both Christians and atheists, so it is important to be prepared with a well-thought-out response. Not only that, but knowing the answer to questions like this will make your own faith stronger, and give you the confidence to share your beliefs.
I recently did a full in-depth treatment of this issue in one of my online classes. You can check out a long free preview of it here: https://educateforlife.org/course/300s/class306/

Is your child emotionally weak? — Expert explains
All kids face conflict—whether they can deal with it or not depends on their emotional strength. Brooks Gibbs is an expert on bullying who has spoken at thousands of schools. He teaches that the solution to bullying (and interpersonal issues of all sorts) is giving kids the tools they need to be resilient, not become chronic victims. Go to https://www.brooksgibbs.com/ for a free test to gauge your child's emotional resilience.

Evolutionist becomes Christian creationist
Professor Emeritus and biochemical evolutionist, Dr. Dean Kenyon, abandoned evolution because of life’s irreducibly complex makeup and is now a Christian creationist. If abiogenesis (life from non-life) occurred as is claimed, then raw, undirected chemistry must have given rise to the highly complex interrelated machines and processes that make biologic life possible. Everyone has heard of the chicken/egg conundrum; which came first? There are many chicken/egg relationships required for life to exist. Take ATP for example. ATP is the energy currency of life. Every biologic function is powered by ATP. Stop ATP production and you’re dead, instantly. That’s why cyanide is so lethal, it stops ATP production. ATP is produced by the molecular rotary motor ATP Synthase, which spins at around 7000 revs a minute with every turn spitting out three ATP molecules. Around 50kg of ATP is produced in our bodies daily by the over 10 quadrillion ATP Synthase rotary motors in our bodies converting ADP6 to ATP; less when resting, more when working hard.
But … ATP Synthase is coded for on the DNA. So to get ATP Synthase you have to have the DNA coding for it. But to get the DNA code for ATP Synthase transcribed so as to get ATP Synthase, you need ATP to drive the transcription process. However, to get ATP to drive transcription, you need ATP Synthase to produce it. No ATP Synthase = no ATP = no transcription of DNA coding for ATP Synthase = no ATP Synthase = no ATP…
To make the issue explicit: The whole interrelated, irreducibly complex DNA/ATP Synthase system has to be fully intact and functional for it to work. Without it life is not possible, thus it had to come into existence as a going concern from the very first moment of life’s existence. How fast was the earth rotating 3.5 billion years ago?
Calling all math nerds! I have a math problem I need help solving. According to Leslie Morrison, an astronomer now retired from the Royal Observatory Greenwich in London, the earth’s spin has slowed by about 6 hours in the past 2,740 years, Morrison and his team reported this finding in the Proceedings of the Royal Society A. This means that the farther back in time we go, the faster the earth would be spinning. What I want to know is this: assuming that the decrease in the earth’s rotation speed has been constant if the earth is currently spinning at approximately 1,000 mph at the equator, how fast would it be spinning A)2.5 million years ago(when the supposed evolutionary chimp line diverged from the human line) B)65 million years ago(when dinosaurs supposedly went extinct) C)3.5 billion years ago (when the first life supposedly appeared on earth) D)4.5 billion years ago (when earth supposedly formed). The reason I ask is that I’m skeptical that life could exist on earth if the rotation was too fast in the distant past. Educateforlife.org

53 Biblical figures confirmed by archaeology
There are at least 53 people in the Old Testament whose existence has been confirmed by archaeology. In “Archaeology Confirms 50 Real People in the Bible” in the March/April 2014 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review, Purdue University scholar Lawrence Mykytiuk lists 50 figures from the Hebrew Bible who have been confirmed archaeologically. His follow-up article, “Archaeology Confirms 3 More Bible People,” published in the May/June 2017 issue of BAR, adds another three people to the list. The identified persons include Israelite kings and Mesopotamian monarchs as well as lesser-known figures. Mykytiuk writes that these figures “mentioned in the Bible have been identified in the archaeological record. Their names appear in inscriptions written during the period described by the Bible and in most instances during or quite close to the lifetime of the person identified.” -Biblical Archaeological Society For more evidence proving the Bible is true visit EducateForLife.org

Unthinking natural processes couldn't make an eye
One fascinating discovery in the study of modern ophthalmology (eye science) is that there are three almost imperceptibly tiny eye movements. These three, referred to as ‘tremors, drifts, and saccades’, are caused by minute contractions in the six muscles attached to the outside of each of your eyes. Every fraction of a second they very slightly shift the position of your eyeball, automatically, without conscious effort on your part, making sight as you know it possible.
Tremors — the tiniest and probably the most intriguing of these movements, continuously and rapidly wobble your eyeball about its center in a circular fashion. They cause the cornea and retina (front and back) of your eyes to move in circles with incredibly minute diameters of approximately 1/1000 (.001) of a millimeter, or .00004 inch.
An even more amazing characteristic of tremors is that the seemingly tireless muscles that produce them wobble your eye 30 to 70 times each second. If sound were involved, that would be fast enough to produce a low-pitched hum. Amazingly, on average, each of your eyes completes one million of these tiny circular motions in 5 1/2 hours. The number of tremors taking place in a lifetime is astronomical.
Even though tremors are not large enough to be visible without great magnification, you could not see properly without them.
For example, consider what would happen if these and all other eye movements stopped while you were staring at someone’s face. The light-sensing cells in your retina would quickly ‘stabilize’, and cease to send updated information to your brain, causing the image you perceive to fade into a uniform gray within seconds. If the person you were staring at smiled, their mouth, and only their mouth, would momentarily reappear out of a visual field of nothingness!
(This has been done in the laboratory,2, and was said to have looked like the smile of the Cheshire cat in Alice in Wonderland.)
The reappearance of only part of the face would happen because only the mouth moved, causing a momentary change in that part of the picture which the retina was seeing at the time.
Thus, continued change in the light projected on each retinal cell in your eyes is crucial for constant vision. Hence the need for tremors that God has made to supply the retina with a slightly shifting picture many times each second. Without the tremors, which are probably the most critical muscular phenomenon for normal vision, you would have to be constantly looking about or continuously altering the light on a subject to see anything for longer than a few seconds at a time. [From Darwin vs. the eye by Tom Wagner and video from youtube video The Human Eye Genius of God] The eye is not the product of unthinking natural forces but a loving intentional God. Hightlight: Jews For Jesus
If you had to guess the number one belief system in the state of Israel, what would you say? If you said "Jewish" you would be right and wrong. The majority of Israelis would say they were Jewish simply because it is their nationality. However, the major belief system in Israel is atheism or secularism.
Furthermore, the majority do not recognize Jesus as a jew, much less the savior of the world. Many simply do not know who Jesus was or that his name in Hebrew means salvation. Israel is one of the most unreached parts of the world. Today on Educate For Life, Kevin speaks with a man who has made it his mission to reach these people. Guest Dan Sered knows first hand what it is like to have never heard the name of Jesus.
Dan Sered was born in Israel on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. His upbringing, like that of many Israelis, was secular, though he was bar mitzvah at age thirteen. Two years later, his family moved to New York where Dan attended Stony Brook University and met Dinah, a Jewish believer in Jesus. Dinah shared the Gospel with Dan explaining that the name of Jesus in Hebrew is Y'shua, and showed Dan how the Hebrew Bible spoke of His coming. Dan committed his life to Y'shua, but not before telling his parents first. Surprisingly, they didn't respond negatively and Dan discovered that Dinah, her family, and the church had all prayed about his parents' response. Dan's parent's reaction was one of 'you will get over this Jesus' which of course Dan did not. This led to Dan's parents' disowning him.
Tune in to hear the rest of Dan's amazing story and how God is working among His people. You can learn more about Dan and his group Jews For Jesus at http://jewsforjesus.org/. You will also find information on how to get involved or to support Dan's mission.
This episode first aired on June 4th, 2016.
