The bathroom scale is the tool most people use to measure the progress of their weight loss diet. But is a daily weigh-in working for you or against you?
If the number is not what you wanted to see, do you give yourself a pep talk and get back to work? Or do you say to yourself, “This isn’t working, so having a treat won’t matter.”
If the number is what you’d hoped for, do you pat yourself on the back and gain motivation? Or do you look at it as a window of opportunity? Maybe saying to yourself, “I’m doing great, so having a treat won’t matter.”
If your goal is weight loss and your daily weigh-ins are inspiring you, fantastic! Keep doing what you’re doing.

Patterns, habits, and routines, no matter how we label them, your brain loves them. These repeated actions save your brain effort, so it is constantly looking to form them. Living at a healthy weight is something that I reached. It did not come naturally to me due to a genetic advantage. You May Have Insulin Resistance If…
When insulin resistance is present, insulin cannot efficiently move sugar out of your blood and into your cells. This makes weight loss difficult because the resulting high blood sugar and insulin levels block fat loss and make you feel tired and hungry. If it is allowed to progress, this resistance can lead to type 2 diabetes. A full diagnosis requires blood work, but there are markers that you can see on your body or that are revealed through your diet and lifestyle that may indicate that you have insulin resistance. Blood Sugar vs Popcorn - Is Adding Butter Better

A couple of months ago, I used my non-prescription CGM from Levels to see how plain popcorn would affect my blood sugar level. The result was very poor. It shot my blood sugar straight up and just as quickly dropped the level to a point lower than my starting point.
Sharing this result spurred a lot of questions about buttered popcorn. Since butter is pure fat, (which is a nutrient that does not spike blood sugar), would adding butter to the popcorn make it a better snack for blood sugar control? Well, I ran the test. It should be better, right? It was not what I expected. Here are the results.

You are frustrated. You cannot figure out why you keep eating foods you know are bad for you. The short answer is - because it is challenging not to.
