Today, I created a color chart for Metro Pro threads and added it to my Embird software. I figured I should add it to my Wilcom Hatch software as well, since I do more digitizing in Hatch than Embird nowdays. Here are the steps I used to create the new color chart for Hatch software.

Embird Tutorial - How to build your own custom thread color chart. This short tutorial will show you how to take the existing color charts supplied by Embird to create your own custom thread chart. That way as you digitize, you can digitize using the threads that you have on hand and will get a better representation of what your design will look like. Note: Save your file frequently, just in case you make a mistake so that you have a place to recover from. Additionally, this process can take quite some time, but in the end it is time well spent.

Did you know that your Skyline S7 or S9 machine has the capability to remember the length of seams? This will help speed up piecing parts of your quilt while you chain piece. Just press the button and let the machine sew the exact same length every time with no fuss or thought required. Switching from sewing say 4x4 squares together to say 6x6 squares? Just sew the one seam to program a different length and you'll be off to the races in no time.

How to clean and oil your Janome Skyline (in my case S7) sewing machine bobbin area. Also learn to look at the feed dogs because they can become filled with dust bunnies too.

Video tutorial on how to use your Janome Skyline S7 to sew on a button with the button foot. Practice putting on your button foot. Don't forget to measure the distance between the holes on your button and convert into MM. When you select the 'sew on button' from the menu (or select the proper stitch number), don't forget to adjust the distance in your settings to be the correct MM to sew on the foot. Be sure to slowly turn your hand wheel to line up the holes in the button and make sure that the machine will actually stitch inside the holes. If you do not have a way to measure MM, measure in fraction of inch, convert to decimal and use a conversion tool such as this one: https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/length/inch-to-mm.html Remember, after you are finished sewing on all of your buttons, to flip the switch to bring your feed dogs back up. No affiliation with Janome, just love my machine.

This video discusses how to attach the accufeed ankle to your machine. If the accufeed is not attached correctly, it may possibly break the foot, and will not stitch properly when attempting to use.

Just a small discussion on the ruffler foot for the Janome Skyline S7 (S9) series of sewing machines

This video shows you how to turn on the Resume mode in settings, so that the next time you start your machine, the machine will select the last stitch you sewed (if desired), so that you don't have to go back in and select your stitches.
