Deer In Nature

My cat likes to go up in the bush but the deer get very skittish when he does.

Everyone is just relaxing in this beautiful mild day. Even my indoor winter cat is outside today

We have a very mild season and the turkeys are in town.

Mama and her twins show up.

There appears to be 2 different groups of deer and they are competing for the territory. They do it gently with snorts and stamps, no real violence at least between these particular groups.

Mama, her twins and big sister all show up on the property.

These 2 female deers came down from the Bush and they are following me around my property. As they live in my Bush they know me well and so they're not afraid of me.

I went outside to have a barbecue and 3 deer decided they were going to come over and see what I was doing

This is the 1st day the turkeys have come into town for the winter. Also a deer comes on to the property that has a growth near her eye.

Deer are getting use to the colder weather.

I've decided to give the deer a treat to fatten them up for winter. They love corn. It is delicious. It doesn't have a lot of nutrients in it but right now they just need to fatten up so they can get through the winter with all the snow and lack of food

The deer like to hang out together.

This mother deer and her fawn are worried about my cat. They watch my cat closely.

The mother cleans the fawn which is a form of bonding. The fawn attempted to get milk from the mother but was unsuccessful. The fawn now can eat grass and so doesn't need as much milk from the mother. This is her way of weaning the fawn off of her milk.

This mother deer gets nervous when another deer comes onto the property and approaches her and her fawns.

There is a family of deer at the neighbors. Mama arrived with her fawn and then 2 other deer showed up which all know the family as they're very friendly with each other.

A mother with a young fawn that still has his spots is spotted in the bush. The mother at this time starts to lick the fawn gently to clean him.

Not only is there for deer but one of those are a fawn.

This deer is starting to get her winter fur. Her body has much darker fur that appears silky to look at. You can see her neck still has the summer fur which is a much lighter in color.

So nice to look out my window and see these beautiful deer.

This deer is eating mushrooms from the side of a tree

First the fawns appeared and then after a few minutes the mother showed up.

This is the first time I've seen this deer this year and only once last year
