On Saturday, August 14, 2021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with His Beatitude Patriarch of Babylon for Chaldeans Cardinal, the head of the Chaldean Catholic Church, Mar Louis Raphael Sako alongside a number of Priests and Cardinals of the States of the region. The meeting was held at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad. Iraqi President Salih emphasized that the Christian of Iraq, the Christian of the East are the indigenous people of the region.
