GOATS!!!

Viewer discretion. It was an exciting evening! She gave birth to one buckling, one doe. I had to pull on the boy, he was quite large for a first-time mom, and was stuck. Dottie's sister Carmela goes off on her own and delivers, no problem, but I was glad to be around for Dottie.

Such an amazing experience to see this. One of God's gifts. I get made fun of by my family...I think the girls are going into labor all the time, and sometimes I do cry wolf. But this day, Dottie did give birth to two kids.

Two weeks of mucous and false alarms, but then finally she gave birth! This is only our second year kidding, so we are still learning what to look for when they go into labor.

I think you either love them or hate. They make a lot of noise and don't have much for brains. We started with 12, then 11, then .... there were 3. As of today's upload, there are 2. When they are gone, they won't be replaced.

We really do feed them everyday, but you wouldn't believe it sometimes!

After Christmas, some friends and family were generous enough to give us their trees and decorations. The goats love them!

Grandpa is taking leveling and grading next to the house, and then moving clearing for a new barn.

Helper is now 1.5 years old, I think (i lose track easily), anyway, this was a week or two into the breeding season, and he was still going strong.
