Don’t go to Toronto’: Canadian city considers implementing a ‘rain tax’
Toronto’s proposal to charge homeowners a stormwater fee has sparked outrage and criticism.
Sky News host Caleb Bond reacted to Toronto’s proposal to implement a “rain tax”.
“You thought it couldn’t get any worse ... don’t go to Toronto because they’re going to tax you when it rains,” he said.
“How are they going to assess this?
“You have to pay in Toronto for the water that falls out of the sky and goes into your own water tank.”

Leftist gender activists have ‘colonised’ the calendar with ‘radical causes’
Sky News host Peta Credlin highlights how leftist gender activists have “colonised” the calendar with days devoted to promoting “radical causes”.
It follows the White House releasing a proclamation commemorating the International Trans Day of Visibility on Easter.
President Biden, on “Transgender Day of Visibility”, also honoured the “extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans”.
As reported by The Australian’s Adam Creighton, other days have made their way onto the calendar, including Asexuality Day on April 6, International Day of Pink on April 10 and Lesbian Visibility

Reid Gets Triggered By D.C.'s Reagan And Dulles Airport Names
MSNBC’s Joy Reid and The ReidOut’s assembled panel reacted on Friday to the efforts by some Republicans to name D.C.’s Dulles International Airport after Donald Trump and Democrats’ response of trying to name a federal prison after him by getting triggered at the eponyms currently on D.C.’s two airports: John Foster Dulles and Ronald Reagan. Reid even admitted that she refuses to call Reagan National by its name.
Reid opined, “Let’s talk a little about this idea of renaming Dulles. Now, Dulles is not the best airport, it might be the worst airport in America. The Republicans are like, 'let’s name it after Donald Trump.' I love the fact that it's named after one of the most diabolical secretaries of State who destroyed Iran and a bunch of Central America.”
Ali Veshi chimed in to add, “But, let's make that worse.”
Echoing the sentiment, Reid continued, “Let’s make it worse. Also, the Democrats have said, 'Instead, let's name a prison after Trump.' Thoughts? Thoughts? Thoughts? Name a prison in Miami?”
Velshi loved the troll move, labeling it “fantastic,” but the table then went on a digression about prison names. When the digression ended, Reid returned to Dulles, “I think this is a great opportunity for the nerds of the table just to talk about Allen Dulles and also his brother, it was John Foster Dulles, I think, and Allen Dulles and both of them were involved in destroying Guatemala and Iran.”
No, that would be the ayatollahs whose oppressive domestic regime and foreign policy escapades have destroyed a once proud civilization. Still, there was one more D.C. airport to discuss. Political Science Professor Christina Greer added, “Well, I mean, we've— they've already renamed National, Reagan which I refuse to call it Reagan.”
If the professor can’t even bring herself to say “Reagan Airport,” one can only wonder what kind of education Fordham University political science majors are getting. Reid, however, would fit right in, “Yeah, I just call it DCA. https://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/alex-christy/2024/04/06/reid-gets-triggered-dcs-reagan-and-dulles-airport-names

ABC’s GMA Fails to Mention ‘Biden’ When Covering Crippling Grocery Prices
Who’s the current U.S. president? ABC’s premier morning news show clearly didn’t let viewers know when covering the crippling food prices Americans are confronting at the grocery store.
During the April 5 edition of Good Morning America, co-anchor Michael Strahan and correspondent Rebecca Jarvis broached the issue of daunting food prices, but did their best not to go as far as making Biden look bad. Strahan acknowledged, “Prices for hundreds of food items have jumped more than 50% since 2019.” However, neither Strahan nor Jarvis mentioned Biden or his out-of-control stimulus policies that exacerbated the price spikes.
Jarvis did visually demonstrate the massive difference between what a consumer could afford in 2019 versus 2024. She said, “The visual is what really creates the contrast. So this is 2019. This is what you got in 2019 for $100. Come over here. This is current day — what you get. And you see, there's an entire section that's missing because you're getting about 30 percent less these days for your money.” But Biden’s inflation-stimulating policies had nothing to do with this, right Jarvis?
Jarvis added, “Back then you could have done the frozen foods, some meat, some hot dogs, some steaks, some strawberries. You see that's missing from over here because $100 then will now cost you about $130.” She continued: “So you want to buy all of that then? Today it would cost you $130. If your budget is $100 then you're sticking to $100, but you’re getting less

One man interviewed said it was a “difficult question,” and the answer depends on the current “gender norms”.
A woman said everyone has their own definition of the word.
Ms Panahi said the video is an example of the failures of the US educational system.
“Toddlers could answer this question better than these adults,” she said.

ABC’s ‘Station 19’ Promotes Children Attending Pride Parades, Touts ‘Ethical Non-Monogamy’
The seventh (and final) season of ABC’s liberal drama Station 19 has begun, and only three episodes in, it’s already pouring on the leftist propaganda. Thursday’s “True Colors” episode centered on “Fabruary-Seattle Winter’s Pride,” which the fire station is participating in and inserted a child into the planning.
One of the show’s many gay characters, Travis (Jay Hayden), asks a smart question…“How many Prides do we need,” adding, “…It feels a little excessive to me. I mean, we're here, we're queer…We don't need to look like a box of Lucky Charms year-round to prove that.”
Travis’s wise insight ends up being borne from internalized shame, as we later find out, which he carries because his father Paul (Robert Curtis Brown) was cruel to him when Travis came out because Paul was secretly gay himself. Of course.
At the parade, Travis introduces his boyfriend Eli (Rob Heaps) to Paul and meets his father’s boyfriend Kyle who he’s in an open relationship with (which they call “ethical non-monogamy”). Paul originally had an affair with Kyle while he was married to Travis’s mother: https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/culture/dawn-slusher/2024/04/01/abcs-station-19-promotes-children-attending-pride-parades

Survey Finds Young Women Prefer Femininity Over Feminism?
One of the only things that wake me up every day is the idea that one day I’ll get to homeschool my kids, honor God and serve my husband. Though that more biblical role is frowned upon by progressives who think women have to work a 9-5 to be worth anything, many women are waking up to what our natural, God-designed role as women is supposed to be.
A survey conducted by the Clare Boothe Luce Center for Conservative Women and steered by GOP campaign consultant Kellyanne Conway’s company KAConsulting, LLC, indicated that young women nowadays prefer femininity and tradition over feminism.
The Clare Boothe Luce Center surveyed 800 young women between the ages of 18-24 years old, only to find 82% of them admitted that they consider themselves more aligned with “femininity,” and only 50% consider themselves "feminists." Additionally, 79% agreed that women who are stay-at-home moms can be “just as successful as a woman who chooses to be in a professional field.”
The survey also asked participants about their top political issues, what they seek in life, and about equality. Thirty-two percent of women surveyed said that abortion was the top issue for them, followed by the economy and inflation. The survey also found many women say they're seeking marriage, buying a home, having children and the prioritization of time with friends and family.
One more interesting component of the survey was that a vast majority of women, regardless of political party affiliation, agreed that it is unfair to have biological males compete in female sports.

Mark Levin Rips CNN ‘Hack’ Dana Bash for Whitewashing Biden's Censorship Regime
Syndicated radio host Mark Levin tore into prominent CNN Biden flack Dana Bash for trying to gaslight viewers on the dangers of the White House censorship regime. Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told CNN anchor Erin Burnett April 1 — to her dismay — that it was in fact President Joe Biden’s censorship regime, not former President Donald Trump, that presented the bigger “threat” to America. Kennedy pointed out the Biden administration’s history of jawboning Big Tech companies like Twitter and Facebook to go after the president’s political opponents. Bash, clearly triggered, pathetically tried to “fact-check” Kennedy the next day on CNN’s Inside Politics.
Her argument pretty much amounted to excusing Biden because he supposedly wasn’t personally involved in directing his agencies to pressure social media companies and the censorship collusion was only engineered towards fighting so-called "false information" about COVID-19. Yes, you read that right. Levin wasn’t having it during the April 2 edition of his radio show: “[Bash is] a hack mouthpiece who burps up the usual left-wing, Democrat Party talking points.”
Nothing to see here, claimed Bash during her segment repudiating Kennedy: “Joe Biden wasn’t setting out to censor Kennedy’s speech or his political critics.” Rather, Bash brazenly whitewashed, “His administration was encouraging social media sites to monitor and take down [censor] false information about the COVID-19 pandemic. There’s no evidence that Biden himself was involved,” as if agencies censoring on Biden’s behalf by proxy is somehow any better and absolves the president’s culpability.
Levin took Bash to school. “What kind of a stupid comment is that,” he rebuked. “Did you [Bash] sit in on all the meetings? Is Biden going to say, ‘Yeah I told them to do that’? What kind of a stupid comment is that?” https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/free-speech/joseph-vazquez/2024/04/04/listen-mark-levin-rips-cnn-hack-dana-bash-whitewashing

How are DORITOS made in Factories | How were NACHOS invented?
It isn't easy being a crunchy corn triangle that bombards you with flavors. Ask Doritos… Doritos begin life as a huge sack full of corn kernels. First we cook them, soak them and rinse them really well. Then we grind the kernels and make a delicate corn dough, which is flattened and cut into cool triangles. And then we work hard to create the perfect bite that crunches and crackles in your mouth! How? First we bake the triangles and then fry them. Last but not least is the flavor. Here each triangle gets a dash of salt or special spice and officially becomes a Dorito!
How were NACHOS invented?
Piedras Negras is a charming town located in the northern Mexican state of Coahuila, situated just across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas, USA. With its vibrant culture, rich history, and a deep-rooted love for food, it’s no surprise that this town would play a pivotal role in the creation of nachos.
The story of nachos can be traced back to the year 1940 and a restaurant known as the Victory Club in Piedras Negras. At the helm of the kitchen was a creative and resourceful chef named Ignacio Anaya, who was affectionately known as “Nacho” by his friends and patrons.
One fateful day, a group of American military wives crossed the border into Piedras Negras, only to find that their intended restaurant was closed. Hungry and in search of a meal, they found their way to the Victory Club, where Nacho Anaya was working.
In a stroke of culinary brilliance, Nacho decided to whip up something special for his unexpected guests. He took some crispy tortilla chips, covered them with freshly grated cheese, and added sliced jalapeño peppers for a kick of spice. The result was an instant hit, and Nacho aptly named the dish “Nacho’s Special.”

How "Death Diving" Works
Feb. 7, 2023: Death diving’ is the latest dangerous stunt to make a splash on TikTok Death diving” is what can only be described as extreme bellyflopping — and it’s the latest dangerous trend gathering fans on TikTok.
Videos of people jumping from great heights and purposefully bellyflopping into the deep blue have gone viral as people across the world are discovering death diving.
Asbjorg Nesje, a young woman from Norway, is responsible for several viral videos in which she can be seen catapulting herself off high surfaces. Her most recent dive alone has gathered 42.5 million views. In the clip, Nesje throws herself off a wooden platform from 81 feet in the air (the highest Olympic diving board is about 33 feet) and spirals downward for several seconds before splashing into the waters below.
Stunned viewers pleaded for confirmation that Nesje was safe — prompting the dare-diver to upload another angle of the jump that clearly shows her landing and reemerging out of the water. People are evidently mesmerized by the nerve-racking videos, which boast more than 253 million views on TikTok thus far — and all come stamped with a safety warning.
But these divers don’t have a death wish. Most of them are, in fact, professional extreme athletes. These terrifying jumps originated in Norway where the sport is called dødsing.
The sport was created in Norway in the early 1970s as a way for men to show off in front of girls, said champion Anders Rox.
Dødsing is officially monitored by the Dødsing Federation, which sets guidelines and world rankings and has hosted the world championships in August every year since 2008. https://nypost.com/2023/02/06/death-diving-is-the-latest-dangerous-stunt-to-make-a-splash-on-tiktok/

Burger King, In-N-Out in California raise prices after minimum wage increase.
Prices for burgers, fries and other fast food items have increased at various restaurant chains across California, according to a recent report.
A New York Post investigation revealed that some fast food chains in the Los Angeles area raised prices on April 1, after new California statewide legislation went into effect Monday enforcing a $20 minimum wage for restaurants that have at least 60 locations nationwide, except those that make and sell their own bread.
Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the legislation, AB 1228, into law in September. In addition to the pay raises, it also establishes a "Fast Food Council," including representatives for both workers and employers, that can approve further pay increases and set standards for working conditions.

California News: Los Angeles. Gang Steals $30 Million During Easter Sunday Heist
Thieves reportedly stole up to $30 million during an Easter Sunday (March 31) heist at an undisclosed San Fernando Valley money storage facility, the Los Angeles Times reports.
The incident took place at a Sylmar facility that handles cash for various businesses in the Southern California region and was reported to be among the biggest heists to ever hit Los Angeles. The break-in was described as being part of a complex scheme involving highly experienced burglars entering through the roof of the building and accessing the vault without setting off the alarm system.
Officials weren't made aware of the incident until after the safe was opened Monday (April 1) as there were no signs of the break-in outside the actual vault. The Los Angeles Police Department was notified of the incident by Sylmar facility officials and gathered evidence at the scene.

When Regulators Hurt People: The Biden Administration Aims To Destroy ObamaCare’s Competition
This article appeared in Real Clear Health on March 26, 2024
Right now, most consumers who miss ObamaCare’s enrollment periods can buy “short‐ term limited duration insurance” that covers them until the next enrollment period. At that point, they can either enroll in Obamacare or renew their short‐term plan.
Last year, the Biden administration announced its intention to require insurers to terminate all short‐term plans after just four months and to prohibit renewals. When the Obama administration imposed a similar rule, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners warned, “state regulators believe the arbitrary limit…could harm some consumers.” Why?
The Biden administration aims to destroy ObamaCare’s competition, even if it means some consumers will suffer—in the administration’s words—“potentially worse health outcomes.”
Enrollees who fall ill would lose their coverage within four months, at which point they generally would not be eligible to enroll in ObamaCare. Since the administration would forbid them to renew their short‐term plans, they would then go up to 12 months without health insurance.
For instance, Consumer Reports explains how in 2017 the Obama rule terminated 61‐year‐old Phoenix resident Jeanne Balvin’s coverage in the middle of her diverticulitis treatment, leaving her with $97,000 in medical bills.
The Biden administration admits its proposal would indeed expose consumers to “higher out‐of‐pocket expenses and medical debt, reduced access to health care, and potentially worse health outcomes.”
They gingerly acknowledge their proposal “could also lead to an increase in the number of individuals without some form of health insurance coverage.” Estimates from the non‐partisan Congressional Budget Office suggest 500,000 people would lose comprehensive coverage. The administration even proposes to require short‐term plans to carry a label warning consumers about the effects of the administration’s changes.
Why are regulators introducing changes so dangerous they require their own warning labels?
The answer relates to the fact that short‐term plans are providing lower‐cost health insurance to some 3 million people who are either ineligible for other coverage options like ObamaCare or who find those options unaffordable.
The CBO reports that 95 percent of short‐term plans are “comprehensive major medical polic[ies] that, at a minimum, cover[] high‐cost medical events and various services, including those provided by physicians and hospitals.” Short‐term plans basically “resemble a typical nongroup insurance plan offered before 2014, when many [ObamaCare] regulations … took effect.”
On some dimensions, short‐term plans provide more comprehensive coverage than ObamaCare. The CBO reports that STLDI “may exclude some benefits that [ObamaCare] plans must cover [but] may have lower deductibles or wider provider networks.”
For consumers buying coverage outside ObamaCare’s enrollment periods, short‐term plans provide more comprehensive coverage than all ObamaCare plans.
Short‐term plans accomplish all this at a fraction of ObamaCare’s cost. The CBO finds that for many consumers, comprehensive short‐term plan premiums are “as much as 60 percent lower than premiums for the lowest‐cost [ObamaCare] plan.”
Such wonders are possible because Congress exempts short‐term plans from ObamaCare and all other federal health insurance regulations.
In other words, markets are beating ObamaCare—and the regulators will not stand for it.
The Biden administration aims to destroy ObamaCare’s competition, even if it means some consumers will suffer—in the administration’s words—“potentially worse health outcomes.”
In King v. Burwell, the Supreme Court explained that “Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets.” Arbitrarily limiting short‐term plans to less than 12 months directly conflicts with that goal because it makes health insurance worse.
The Biden administration should abandon this proposal, which is likely to spark a legal challenge. Congress shouldn’t wait for the other two branches to act. It should immediately codify the current rules for short‐term plans, including allowing renewal guarantees.
The Department of Health and Human Services has said short‐term plans with renewal guarantees could even reduce ObamaCare premiums. Which means codifying current rules would serve both Democrats’ and Republicans’ goals.
