Surprise BFS Catch 👊!!!! [Shimano SLX BFS][Bait Finesse System] 🐟

Shot at while Fishing
I was out Kayak fishing a creek and gun shots could be heard in the distance and as I went further
up river they kept getting closer and closer. I went around a bend and the rounds came super close some breaking branches on the side of the river and one was close enough to hear that "whizzing" sound. Closet call to getting shot yet. I have been on other lakes deep in the woods and heard people screwing around shooting but they never came across the water like these did.
I called the police and they did find the shooters and asked if I wanted to press charges, I said I would prefer a warning and that was the last I heard of it. I can say that I never heard another gunshot all the way into November.

How I caught cold water Smallmouth, Largemouth Bass and Pike in November using crankbaits
How I caught cold water Smallmouth, Largemouth Bass and Pike in November using crankbaits while kayak fishing with the Native Slayer Max 12.5. I show the exact lure I used for each fish as a custom Davinci Resolve Title with an image of the exact lure.
It was a windy November 17th 2021 and had some good luck with a particular Monsterbass Crankbait that kind of looked like the baitfish I saw breaking the surface.
I got 7 fish on the crankbait and one on a ChatterBait with a Zako trailer.
Be sure to use the chapters below for easy navigation.

November Cold Water (37 Degrees) Jerkbait Kayak Fishing with the Native Slayer Max 12.5 and Piscifun Alloy M baitcaster.
I had been watching the weather for a good time to go out fishing and November in Wisconsin can be super hit or miss. Turned out opening day for the gun deer season was perfect with Light winds and mild temps.
I started out with a lipless crank and quickly moved to a crankbait and jerkbaits. I noticed what looked like small shad breaking the surface by the boat launch and used all shad like colors which seemed to be effective.

Hooked in the Leg: Thrashing Hammer Handle Pike gets me in the leg with Treble Hook!!!
While kayak bass fishing in Wisconsin it's almost impossible to not catch pike, and in this particular instance while unhook the slimy snot rocket went bonkers and one of the hooks got me in the leg.
It went all the way through so I was able to easily extract the hook and kept on fishing.
This was the 3rd time a treble hook has got me, the other two time where in the hand,
once by a dink smallmouth and another hammer handle Pike.

Fishing is not always fun!! Bridge takes my Power Pole Spike after not paying attention!!!!!
#Shorts
So I was on my way back to the launch and there are 2 bridges, and on the way up I wait until I get past the last bridge to put the spike into the power pole micro. There is a nice spot in the middle of the river that is gravel and I get out and put the spike in, well on the way back I was supposed to stop at that same spot and remove the pole so this exact incident would not happen LOL
I went back the next day to try and snag it with a long painters pole and a hook but could not locate it :-(

November Kayak Bass Fishing in Wisconsin with the Motorized Native Falcon 11
#nativewatercraft #kayakfishing #wisconsinfishing
In this video I had met up with Hernan from Hernan's Reel Game YouTube channel and we had to portage the kayaks 1/2 mile to get to the lake (1 mile round trip)
I ended up with 2 Largemouth bass and Hernan got 2 Pike. The water temp was 47 degrees and I kind of expected the Pike to be a bit more active.
Overall not a bad trip for a November afternoon in Southeast Wisconsin.
Gear:
Native Watercraft Falcon 11 with a Watersnake trolling motor.

Piscifun Serpent Casting Rod

Motorized Kayak Bass Creek Fishing with ChatterBaits and the Native Watercraft Falcon 11
Motorized Kayak Bass Creek Fishing with ChatterBaits and the Native Falcon 11!!
#nativewatercraft #piscifun #kayakbassfishing
In this video I was using the motorized Native Falcon 11 with foot steering to fish a bank on a Southeast Wisconsin
creek. By using the ESC (electronic speed control) I was able to control my speed and make casts under the over hanging vegetation and a nice LMB slammed the Chatterbait. The foot steering and left side mounted rotary throttle allow me to have control just as good if not better than a pedal kayak.
Trolling motor is a stern mounted 24lb thrust WaterSnake.

Chatter Cat!! Creek Catfish slams Black and Blue Chatterbait while Kayak Bass Fishing.
#piscifun #nativewatercraft #alloym
While creek fishing during early fall I was surprised that a decent catfish slammed my chatterbait in about a foot of water right at the entrance to small slough.
I was using a Motorized Native Watercraft Falcon 11 along with a Piscifun Alloy M baitcaster paired with a Piscifun Serpent casting rod.

Smallmouth Bass Slams Lure Hanging Over Side of Native Slayer Max 12.5 Kayak!!!
Smallmouth Bass Slams Lure Hanging Over Side of Native Slayer Max 12.5 Kayak!!!
#smallmouthbass #nativewatercraft #kayakfishing
I had just caught a small snot rocket Pike and after I unhooked the little dude, i tossed the lure to dangle over the edge of the kayak, it was down maybe a couple of feet just hanging there and right after I released the pike I noticed the rod was bouncing around and sure enough I had a fish on.
I was targeting a bend in the river that had a under cut bank and my guess is the Smallmouth saw the lure and came out from the under the bank.(The kayak was up against the edge of the grass bank).

Fall Kayak Bass fishing in Southeast Wisconsin on the Native Falcon 11
In this video we had just endured a fairly heavy rain shower and I made a really long cast to this big fallen tree and a
very decent Largemouth came out and slammed the DIY Bladed Jig which had a Baby Bass pattern skirt and a Green Pumpkin Pearl Strike King Rage Swimmer Paddle tail.

Pike slams wacky worm in front of Native Falcon 11 Kayak while bass fishing
While I was kayak bass fishing this 31 inch Pike slammed the wacky worm right in front of the Native Falcon 11.
Luckily I hooked him perfectly in the corner of the mouth so the 10lb fluorocarbon leader didn't get cut like butter.

Wisconsin Kayak Bass Fishing at Honey Lake with the Native Falcon 11 (Motorized)
Wisconsin Kayak Bass Fishing at Honey Lake with the Native Falcon 11 (Motorized)
#nativewatercraft #kayakbassfishing #wisconsinfishing
I got a late start and the first lake I was going to try was kind of low and the small channel to launch the kayak had dried up and was super muddy so I decided to find a different spot and ended up at Honey Lake which I had never fished before. I had no idea to expect at this lake as it was a on the fly selection with 0 prior research, so I had no idea how deep it was or what fish species populated it besides Largemouth Bass so I was a bit surprised at one of the catches.

Wind, Waves, and Catfish while Kayak Fishing with the Native Slayer Max 12.5 on Beaver Dam Lake
Wind, Waves, and Catfish while Kayak Fishing with the Native Slayer Max 12.5 on Beaver Dam Lake
#catfish #nativewatercraft #slayermax
Headed up to Beaver Dam Lake to check it out and the conditions were not ideal.
Wind and short rolling waves made for a choppy and wet ride in the kayak.
The trolling motor really helped but still many waves crashed over the bow and I had to pull the scupper plugs, also ended up with about a gallon of water in the hull.
Wasn't a skunk situation as I got a catfish and Hernan got a giant carp. The catfish hit a Zman/Evergreen Jackhammer Chatter bait which I later lost at Fox Lake to a decent Pike that cut my 60lb leader hahahah!!
We made it back to the launch and headed up the road 7 miles to Fox Lake and much better conditions were to be had there.

Evening Kayak Bass and Pike Fishing on Friess Lake with the Native Falcon 11
Evening Kayak Bass and Pike Fishing on Friess Lake with the Native Falcon 11
#nativewatercraft #nativefalcon11 #motorizedkayaks
I had some issues with the motor remote control so I ended up just paddling this lake.
I really miss the motor when I can't use it because it's so much easier to foot steer and cast then quickly adjust speed from the remote control, it works better than a pedal drive in my opinion.
I headed up to Friess Lake for the first time and did OK with a total of 5 pike and 1 Bass.
4 of the Pike were hammer handles and didn't make it into this video.
I did pretty well on a Reaction Tackle Tungsten Bladed Jig before I lost it. The bass fell for a Monster Bass Hammerhead 1.5 Square bill.
Overall a decent evening exploring new water.

Fox River Multi Species Kayak Fishing with the Native Slayer Max 12.5!
In this episode I headed down to the fox for some evening fishing. I had planned to target White bass and did get one, but the river also gave me a really nice Pike and a Catfish.

Motorized Kayak Bass Fishing with the Native Slayer Max 12.5 and Leaping Smallmouth
Motorized Kayak Bass Fishing with the Native Slayer Max 12.5 and Leaping Smallmouth caught
with a wacky rigged Bass Pro Shops Stik-O Worm. The Slayer Max is now controlled with a 1/10 scale RC Truck ESC along with a custom wired remote control. I was using a Minn Kota PWM but the thing was massive and weighed about 7lbs. The ESC is tiny and light weight in comparison.
In this episode I had met up with Hernan from Hernan's Reel Game for some smallmouth bass river fishing. It was super hot that day and we only caught two fish (one each)
This stretch of river is nice because there is a rail road grade right up against the river that is loaded with rip rap.
