Ukraine President Zelensky rules out territory deal with Russia - BBC News
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has ruled out giving up any of his country's territory in a potential peace deal with Russia.
Almost one year on from the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Zelensky said in a BBC interview that conceding land would mean Russia could "keep coming back”.
Russian forces launched part of their full-scale invasion from Belarus 12 months ago. Zelensky still believes Ukraine's forces can continue resisting Russia's advance until they are able to launch a counter-offensive - although he repeated his calls for more military aid from the West.
"Today, our survival is our unity," said Zelensky on how he thought the war will eventually end.

What were the flying objects shot down by US military? - BBC News
The US military is 'still unsure' what the flying objects it shot out of the skies over North America were - and how they were able to stay aloft.
President Joe Biden ordered another object - the fourth in total this month - to be downed on Sunday.
As it was traveling at 20,000ft (6,100m), it could have interfered with commercial air traffic, the US said.
A military commander said it could be a "gaseous type of balloon" or "some type of a propulsion system". He added he could not rule out that the objects were extra-terrestrials.

Who is Nikki Haley, the trailblazer challenging Donald Trump in 2024? - BBC News
Nikki Haley's announcement that she will run for US president in 2024 makes her the first Republican to challenge Donald Trump for the party's nomination.
A former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador, Haley is the third Indian American to seek a presidential nomination.
"Now is not the time to hold back. Now is the time for a strong and proud America," she tweeted, linking to a campaign video.
The former governor, 51, said in 2021 that she wouldn't challenge Mr Trump for the White House. But she changed her position in recent months, citing the need for "generational change".
Other Republicans who are tipped to launch their own White House campaigns include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Vice-President Mike Pence.

Male contraceptive pill a real possibility, say scientists - BBC News
A non-hormonal male contraceptive pill may be a real possibility, say scientists who have found a switch that stops sperm from being able to swim.
In an early study in mice, the pill caused the sperm to stay stunned for about three hours.
Researchers think users could take the contraceptive pill an hour before sex, and keep an eye on the time for when it wears off.
Many more tests are planned and needed, moving to rabbits before people.
“The fact that it is able to act, and be reversed, so quickly is really quite exciting,” Prof Allan Pacey, professor of andrology at the University of Sheffield, said.
