Subscribe to this channel for more music released every week! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeYt37BGcnglKIjHgf8D7eg 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us that anyone who has placed their trust and dependence in the finished work of Jesus Christ has been totally recreated from the inside out, that the old is gone and the new has come. While the old refers to specifically to an old identity that was separated from God and deserving of wrath (thank God He did away with that person!), we know that with it has gone the old way of living. Before we had God the Holy Spirit dwelling inside us we were forced to live out of our own resources - our flesh - to get our needs met, and to protect ourselves. But that old way of finding value and significance and purpose is not for us who believe. Now we live and serve according to the Spirit. We have a brand new identity - a brand new heart. In the Old Testament we read about Israel standing before God, receiving the Law. They say, "We will do it!" WE will obey. WE will keep the commands. WE will measure up. WE will! And then they didn't. They failed - miserably at times. Because the Law set a standard they were never equipped to meet in their own strength. The Law was given to show the great need we have for a Saviour who can live and express His life in and through us. So what a great moment when Ezekiel starts to prophesy about the season after the rescue, after Messiah arrives. God says, "I WILL." I will cleanse you. I will remove a heart of stone. I will give you a heart of flesh. I will pour out My Spirit on you. I will write my law and desire on your heart, and I will cause you to follow my decrees. I will. I WILL DO IT. And He did. And He does. And at any given moment we have the opportunity to trust Him, and allow the Spirit to bear fruit in us. We are brand new - new hearts reconnected to the Father.
