Modern theologians and christians like to state that Eve "usurped" her role as a woman and wife when it comes to the serpent and the fruit. But the reality is that we don't actually know what the Bible says. Coincidentally, Eve also found herself in that situation when the serpent questioned her, "Did God REALLY say that?" And it begs the question, do we really know what the Bible says in general?
