Can creatine supplements help people suffering from post-COVID-19 fatigue? 1156 SEP 2023
Creatine supplementation induced a significant reduction in general fatigue after 3 months of intake compared to baseline values (p = .04), and significantly improved scores for several post-COVID-19 fatigue syndrome-related symptoms (e.g., ageusia, breathing difficulties, body aches, headache, and difficulties concentrating) at 6-month follow-up (p  .05). Taking creatine for 6 months appears to improve tissue bioenergetics and attenuate clinical features of post-COVID-19 fatigue syndrome; additional studies are warranted to confirm our findings in various post-COVID-19 cohorts.

Urolithin-A May Reverse Some Aging? 1154 SEP 2023
Implications for the Future- In essence, this groundbreaking research indicates that by encouraging the recycling of mitochondria using Urolithin A, it is possible to reverse the aging process within the hematopoietic and immune systems. These findings hold immense promise for the development of interventions targeted at addressing age-related health conditions in older individuals and pave the way for envisioning clinical trials.

Turmeric may be as good for treating indigestion as drug 1155 Sep 2023
Curcumin is effective in the treatment of gastric ulcers, erosions and dyspepsia, with ulcers and erosions reduced or even eradicated after administration of curcumin (3000 mg/day) for up to 12 weeks, while abdominal pain and discomfort were significantly reduced. This explains why in this study we compared curcumin with a PPI as a treatment for functional dyspepsia.

Korean Red Ginseng can alleviate addictive effects of alcohol Episode 1157 OCT 2023
Recent studies have reported the beneficial effects of KRG extract— a traditional herbal medicine— in treating neuroinflammation. Although, it has been traditionally used to treat a number of ailments, KRG is now finding use in diseases of the modern day, such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease. Previous research on rodents has demonstrated that KRG can relieve addiction against psychoactive agents. However, not much is known about the its effects on alcohol-induced addictive responses and cognitive impairment.

Strength, Endurance, Speed, Urolithin A EP. 1160 OCT 2023
It can increase the rate of protein synthesis within muscle cells and inhibit protein degradation processes [53]. This allows muscle cells to more effectively synthesize new proteins and maintain muscle mass. Additionally, Urolithin A can improve muscle endurance and exercise performance by promoting mitochondrial function and muscle energy metabolism [66]. This may lead to longer and more intense training sessions, further promoting muscle hypertrophy and the maintenance of muscle mass.

Choline is vital for Muscle Strength Gain EP.1159 OCT 2023
Choline may affect muscle responses to RET through many potential mechanisms. Since choline is a precursor to a neurotransmitter, ACh, which relays a signal from motor neurons to skeletal muscle to contract and generate force, and of which synthesis is reported to be affected by availability of choline [36,37], insufficient choline consumption may limit the availability of ACh at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) and, in turn, muscle contraction and force generation.

Ginger consumption and possible autoimmune benefits Ep. 1162 NOV 2023
New research has revealed a potentially important role ginger supplements can play in controlling inflammation for people living with autoimmune diseases. The research focused on studying the impact of ginger supplementation on a type of white blood cell called the neutrophil. The study was especially interested in neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation, also known as NETosis, and what it may mean for controlling inflammation.

Hot flashes reduced by 95% through microbiome diet Ep.1164 NOV 2023
The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine has conducted a study that shows a low-fat vegan diet, which includes soy, can significantly reduce postmenopausal vasomotor symptoms, commonly known as hot flashes. The study observed a 95% decrease in hot flashes overall, while severe hot flashes were completely eliminated. Moderate-to-severe hot flashes decreased by 96%, and daytime and nighttime hot flashes reduced by 96% and 94%, respectively. In addition, participants on the vegan diet lost an average of 6.4 pounds.
