They instructed her to submit a delegation to be heard in January. On January 10, 2023 Tanya Gaw and Krystyna Bielecka, both from Action4Canada, attended the Mission school board meeting via zoom to present to the board. They were approved in advance to discuss the learning resources and books. Former Brandon School Board Trustee, Lorraine Hackenschmidt, calls for the removal of sexually explicit books. Hackenshmidt is a Brandon constituent and a grandmother of five students in the division. She calls on the Brandon School Division to create a committee to look at which books are appropriate for children and "remove those with vulgar language, description of sexual acts, those that are of pornography content."
