Supreme Court Hears Arguments Brought by Jack Smith on Trump Immunity
This morning, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Donald Trump’s immunity case. The former President’s attorney John Sauer argued before the Court that “prosecuting the president for his official acts is an innovation with no foothold in history or tradition and incompatible with our constitutional structure.” The attorney who argued the case for Special Counsel Jack Smith pushed back on that by saying, “That is not official conduct, that is campaign conduct.”

The Latest on Trump Gag Order - Caller Questions
Sekulow takes calls on how the New York civil case trial judge is about to deliver a ruling on the gag order for Trump and other potential witnesses in order to control public commentary that could compromise the trial's fairness. However, such restrictions could do the exact opposite, stifling opposing viewpoints and allowing only one side to dominate the narrative. Also, a huge case is at the Supreme Court on immunity for Donald Trump and other former U.S. Presidents.

Trump Gag Order Led By DA Alvin Bragg Decision Imminent
Yesterday, the Manhattan trial of President Donald Trump, led by District Attorney Alvin Bragg, focused on discussions regarding whether Trump breached the judge's gag order. A decision from the judge on whether to hold Trump in contempt of court is expected soon.

Trump Gag Order Decision COMING SOON
President Donald Trump’s Manhattan trial (spearheaded by DA Alvin Bragg) continued yesterday with arguments about whether Trump violated the judge’s gag order. The judge’s ruling, which could result in Trump being held in contempt of court (a $10,000 daily fine or possible jail time), is imminent.
The gag order that the judge put in place is very restrictive. President Trump isn’t in court today, but the judge’s ruling could still be issued.
First, let’s discuss what a gag order should be. It’s usually reserved to protect witnesses or jurors who fear possible consequences if they tell the truth about a defendant. This protects the witnesses and jurors from being pressured to lie because they feel threatened – it also hinders witness tampering.
But the Manhattan judge’s order doesn’t fall under this purview. And it even prevents the President from discussing the conflict of interest with the judge’s daughter, who isn’t a witness or a defendant in the trial but a Democratic fundraiser (has raised $93 million) whose client is Rep. Adam Schiff (CA-30). Do you think people might want to know about possible conflicts of interest?
While this circus is taking place in Manhattan, oral argument will begin tomorrow at the U.S. Supreme Court in President Trump’s immunity case. Special Prosecutor Jack Smith is arguing all Presidents should be denied immunity for any actions while in office: “A former President is subject to federal criminal prosecution for personal and official acts that violate valid criminal laws.” Smith’s radical claim ignores the potential consequences for former Presidents.
The ACLJ filed an amicus brief arguing that President Trump should not be held liable for official actions taken in office. Stripping U.S. Presidents of presidential immunity will only weaken the office of the President going forward – this outrageous crusade by the far Left must be stopped.

Election Interference At Its Worst: Jordan Sekulow on Newsmax
Jordan Sekulow, the Executive Director for the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), appeared on NewsMax to discuss what he describes as blatant election interference stemming from the legal challenges President Donald Trump is facing in New York. During the interview, Sekulow argued that the timing and nature of the charges suggest a strategic attempt to undermine Trump's influence ahead of upcoming elections.

Riot Police Dispersed Throughout Yale, Columbia Universities Amid Palestinian Protests
Last night in New York City, protests turned violent as pro-Palestinian protesters clashed with the NYPD, leading to 150 arrests at NYU. And the antisemitic riots on college campuses continue to threaten the safety of Jewish students and faculty. Columbia University, where 100 rioters were arrested yesterday, is extending hybrid classes throughout the end of the semester to protect its students, and numerous arrests took place at Yale University.
https://aclj.org/israel/defend-israel-stop-biden-from-supporting-her-enemies?utm_medium=Video&utm_source=YouTube&utm_campaign=d-04232024_seg-ytsekulow_top-IS_typ-PT_con-defendIsrael
ABC News reports on Monday night’s chaos:
“More than 150 people were arrested at New York University on Monday night, police said, as pro-Palestinian protests spread on college campuses throughout the country.
Students, faculty and others were arrested after school officials asked the New York Police Department for help clearing a plaza on NYU’s Manhattan campus, police said. Many of those arrested were “still being processed through the night and most if not all will be released,” the department said. . . .
‘There is a pattern of behavior occurring on campuses across our nation, in which individuals attempt to occupy a space in defiance of school policy,’ Kaz Daughtry, the NYPD’s deputy commissioner for operations, said in a social media post. ’Rest assured, in NYC the NYPD stands ready to address these prohibited and subsequently illegal actions whenever we are called upon.’”
Yesterday, we told you how Columbia sent its students home because the administration couldn’t provide a safe environment for them. Now hybrid classes are in place for the rest of the school year. Will there be a graduation ceremony for the seniors?
We’re having flashbacks to colleges during the early COVID-19 years when students were isolated and unable to interact with each other. We wonder if the COVID-19 isolation is connected to young people forgetting how to protest peacefully without attacking others and creating chaos.
This is the United States of America. We are a nation of laws. Why are school officials essentially giving up on trying to protect their students?
School officials used to take precautionary measures to protect their students instead of waiting until violence spirals out of control – putting students and faculty at risk.
And are we even talking about anonymous protests or anonymous chaos? When a mass number of people are arrested, it’s not just civil disobedience. These rioters came to commit violence, to injure others, and to bring attention to their issue – but not in a positive way. They’ve gone far beyond peaceful protest protected by the Constitution.
What’s happening right now on college campuses speaks to the importance of the next election. Are we going to be a nation that allows violent pro-Hamas riots to break out regularly? Or are we going to be a nation that respects civil dissent without turning to violence?
Unfortunately, chaos isn’t just occurring on college campuses – the Middle East is also in turmoil. And we’ve got a huge bombshell to report from a FOIA request that we originally filed after Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal debacle.
We have a letter from a leading NGO network to the State Department from August 1, 2021, regarding Biden’s forthcoming withdrawal from Afghanistan. The NGO network warned the State Department that if it did not change course, the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan would lead to a “great power competition with China and Russia and interference by Iran to exert nefarious influence in the region and undermine U.S. strategic and security interests.”
So basically, the letter became a fortuneteller, predicting everything that would unfold on the world stage during Biden’s presidency. Russia has invaded Ukraine, Iran has been wreaking havoc in the Middle East and against Israel, and China continues to exert more control.
The ACLJ will continue to hold the Biden Administration accountable for its failures to protect America and our allies. We will keep you informed as we find other documents of interest from our FOIA.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of the violent protests on college campuses. ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell reacted to the lack of control by college administrations, and Five for Fighting’s John Ondrasik discussed performing in Israel during Iran’s recent attack.

Columbia University Jewish Students Under Assault
The antisemitism against Jewish students on college campuses is so volatile that CNN is reporting that classes at Columbia today (the start of Passover) are meeting virtually. Fearing the worst for Columbia University, New York City Mayor Eric Adams condemned the “professional agitators” at Columbia and warned that the NYPD would be ready to intervene if needed. This comes on the heels of a riot on Saturday night at Yale University that resulted in a Jewish student being stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag.
CNN reports on Columbia’s decision to go virtual:
“Columbia President Minouche Shafik said in a statement the decision was made to ‘deescalate the rancor and give us all a chance to consider next steps.’
The move underscores how tense the situation has become at the Ivy League school and the enormous challenge facing Shafik to get the situation under control. . . .
As Columbia students move to virtual learning, scores of protestors were camped out on the university’s West Lawn Monday morning opposite the lawn where the original encampment took place.
More than a dozen tents were pitched and tables were stocked with supplies of clothes and food. Signs along the perimeter include ones reading, ‘End the siege on Gaza now’ and ’Welcome to the People’s University of Palestine.’”
So Columbia isn’t just telling its students to be careful – it’s sending students home because they can’t control the antisemitic riots. The administration is essentially admitting that it can’t protect the students or faculty.
Remember when Jews had to flee Poland in September 1939? The threats against Jewish students aren’t on the same level, but there are still disturbing similarities. Orthodox Jewish students walking across campus must literally fear for their safety.
Ironically, most of these college students were raised in liberal homes that preached “tolerance.” That’s why it’s so shocking to see how these minds have gotten so polluted against Jewish students without any respect for their beliefs or ethnicity.
ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison is no stranger to college campuses. He commented on the adverse environment for Jewish students:
“What we have in the United States is basically a movement . . . designed to classify Jews and supporters of Israel as oppressors. And the individuals in Palestine, for instance, the pro-Hamas individuals, are now classified as victims. And so in our American system, if you are classified as a victim, you gain political and moral power. And so at Columbia, we see individuals who are proudly supporting Hamas. . . . So all of this has happened after October 7 when Hamas launched an unprovoked assault on Israel. And now Israel is seen in the eyes of elites as the oppressor.”
The anti-Jewish propaganda isn’t isolated to radical professors. President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken are also to blame for this violence against Jewish students. They’ve poured fuel on the flames of vitriol against Jews by opposing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempts to defend Israel and excusing slanderous lies about the IDF’s fight against Hamas. Biden’s waning support of Israel empowers the pro-Hamas crowds even further.
The Biden Administration and college campuses must reign in the antisemitic rioting before it’s too late. This is the United States of America – this violent behavior is unconscionable. And again, today’s attacks against Jewish students are taking place on Passover, which is just heartbreaking.
The ACLJ stands with Israel and continues to defend our ally. Today we sent legal demand letters to 36 countries demanding that they inflict crippling sanctions on Iran, label their Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization, and allow Israel to defend itself.

Tulsi Gabbard Discusses the Hypocrisy of Hillary’s “Bully” Response
Hillary Clinton's claim that Trump is a bully is undermined by the inconsistency of her own actions, particularly her treatment of Sekulow Senior Military and Political Analyst Tulsi Gabbard during the 2020 Democratic primary race. Despite advocating against bullying behavior, Clinton's derogatory remarks towards Gabbard, including baseless accusations and insinuations, exemplify a lack of adherence to her own stated principles.

Retaliation in the Middle East Against Iran
Last night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel reportedly retaliated against Iran in response to its unprecedented attack last weekend. According to reports, Israel initiated a “limited” drone strike on an apparent military target in Isfahan, avoiding civilians. Before the launch, Israel reportedly informed the White House and carried out the drone strike despite President Biden’s opposition. Iran had threatened an “immediate . . . maximum level” response to any retaliation by Israel.
Recently, AP News reported:
"Speaking at the G7 meeting in Capri, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said the U.S. received “last-minute” information from Israel about the attack on Isfahan. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken did not dispute that, but said: “We were not involved in any offensive operations.”
The apparent attack, near a major air base and a nuclear site around the central city of Isfahan, came on Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s 85th birthday. Israeli politicians also made comments hinting that the country had launched an attack.
Air defense batteries fired in several provinces over reports of drones being in the air, Iranian state television reported. Iranian army commander Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi said crews targeted several flying objects, but the incident caused no damage.
Analysts said the relatively limited scope of the Israeli attack and the subdued response by Iran seemed to indicate the threat of an immediate escalation had diminished."
One of the strikes was very close to the Natanz nuclear plant, which you may have heard of in reference to the Iranian nuclear deal. The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was put in place between the U.S. and other countries of the Security Council monitoring Iran’s nuclear program.
Well, Israel might have hit near the nuclear base. Iran is saying there were no nuclear issues. However, it issued the statement to their citizens, which means this strike was very close to Natanz. You’ve also got a huge military base there at the airfield, so it could have been a strike on Iran’s airfield.
Notably, Secretary Blinken made it very clear that the U.S. had had no part in Israel’s attack. I’m anxious to see how the Biden Administration responds over the weekend. Will it support Israel defending itself from future Iranian attacks? Or will the Administration continue to distance itself from Israel?
ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon reacted to Biden’s troubling lack of support for Israel:
"Israel knows that America has always been its strongest ally. But this President and this Administration are not as strong an ally [just] as Obama was not as strong an ally. And the fact is Obama first broke ground with creating daylight between Israel policy and America policy. . . . And now you see the aftermath of Israel shooting down that massive, unprecedented launch from Iran . . . was to “take the win” – as the President said. What does that mean? “Take the win?” It’s not a win for Israel to allow Iran or any country to launch a barrage of missiles into its airspace and try to wipe out its population. That is not a win. Israel had no choice but to react."
Now is the time to stand with Israel. The ACLJ stands with Israel and continues to defend our ally. On Monday we are sending legal demand letters to 32 countries demanding that they inflict crippling sanctions on Iran, label their Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization, and allow Israel to defend itself.
Stand with Israel by signing our brand-new petition. Your voice makes a difference.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast discussed Israel’s justified response to defend itself from Iran. We were joined by several guests: CBN’s Chris Mitchell, retired Israeli Brigadier General Amir Avivi, and former Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. and the U.N. Danny Danon.

Drone Attack Against Iran Strikes Close to Nuclear Facility
Last night, in response to Iran's unprecedented attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel reportedly carried out a retaliatory strike. Sources indicate that Israel executed a "limited" drone strike on what appears to be a military target in Isfahan, deliberately avoiding civilian areas. Reports also suggest that Israel notified the White House before proceeding with the drone strike, despite opposition from President Biden.

SHOCKING Trump Announcement by Attorney General Bill Barr
Former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr declared Trump’s Manhattan trial an “abomination” and shockingly admitted that he’ll “vote the Republican ticket” in the 2024 presidential election. Remember that AG Barr was one of the strongest Republican critics of President Trump following the events that transpired after Trump left office.
The Hill reports on AG Barr’s unexpected admission:
'Former Attorney General Bill Barr said Wednesday he will vote for the “Republican ticket” in the November presidential election.
“I think it’s my duty to pick the person I think would do the least harm to the country,” Barr said on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom.” “And in my mind, that’s — I will vote the Republican ticket.” . . .
Barr said Wednesday he thinks “the real danger to the country — the real danger to democracy, as I say, is the progressive agenda.”
“And while … Trump may be playing Russian roulette, but a continuation of the Biden administration is national suicide, in my opinion,” Barr continued.'
Declaring a continuation of the Biden Administration a “national suicide” is as condemning as it gets. Apparently, AG Barr had a “come to Jesus” moment about the upcoming election and now believes that Trump would be a much better option than Biden.
Barr’s comments stem from the ongoing political prosecution against President Trump. Look no further than Trump’s ongoing Manhattan trial, which would be a misdemeanor at worst for an everyday citizen.
https://aclj.org/government-corruption/stop-political-prosecution-of-president-trump?utm_medium=Video&utm_source=Rumble&utm_campaign=d-04182024_seg-rumrecap_top-GC_typ-PT_con-politicalprosecution
As you know, jury selection has been taking place, and many jurors were rejected for saying they couldn’t be impartial in deciding a verdict. But let’s be realistic: How can they find 12 truly impartial jurors unless the jurors have been in a coma for the last eight years?
It’s hard to imagine anyone being completely impartial in a case involving a President. It will be nearly impossible for Trump to get a fair and impartial jury.
The prosecution wants to get this trial over by November . . . just in time for the 2024 presidential election. Normally, a trial of this magnitude would take a long time. So, in other words, it’s obvious election interference.
We also have news about an ongoing debate in the House about three separate funding bills. Many far-Left Representatives don’t want any funding to go to Israel, whereas many conservative Representatives don’t want additional funding for Ukraine. There’s also a bill about sending aid to Taiwan. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has a tough road ahead of him trying to work through a divided House.
Former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard joined the broadcast to comment on holding Members of Congress accountable for their spending decisions:
"We all know the reason why the Democrats lump these [bills] together . . . because they are worried that the Ukraine vote might lose. It’s such a dishonest way of policymaking and governing because Members of Congress are then not held accountable for their position on a single issue. They then go back and say, Oh well, I wasn’t really for that, but it had this other really important thing. So I didn’t have a choice on how to vote. . . . I agree that Speaker Johnson made the right decision to have individual debates on each of these [bills] and individual votes. . . . The American people should demand, at a bare minimum, an accounting of the dollars that [Members of Congress] are spending – our taxpayer dollars."
One appalling aspect of the Ukrainian bill is that $300 million has been set aside to help secure the Ukrainian border. Wouldn’t it be nice if Congress spent that same money to secure the southern border back home?
The ACLJ remains steadfast in supporting Israel even if Congress falters. Through the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ), our international affiliate, we just sent a letter to the European Union demanding that they list the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. Doing so would result in tougher sanctions on Iran.
We’re also about to send critical demand letters to 32 countries next week to defend Israel’s sovereignty rights. We will never stop defending our greatest ally. Join our efforts by signing our brand-new petition. Your voice makes a difference.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of former AG Barr’s bombshell announcement. ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell responded to the growing calls for presidential debates between President Biden and President Trump.

AG Bill Barr SHOCKS: “Vote Republican Ticket” Ahead of 2024 Election
Former Attorney General Bill Barr announced on Fox New that he plans to vote for the "Republican ticket" in the upcoming November presidential election. "I believe it's my duty to choose the candidate who I think will cause the least harm to the country," Barr stated. "I will vote Republican ticket."
This declaration comes despite Barr's previous criticisms of his former boss, President Trump, who is the likely Republican nominee for President in the upcoming 2024 election.

J6 Protestors Facing Obstruction Ruling at Supreme Court
Today the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on whether January 6 protestors at the U.S. Capitol can be charged with obstructing an official proceeding. The pending ruling could greatly impact Special Counsel Jack Smith’s election interference case against President Donald Trump because the former President faces the same charge. Fair Trial? Trump Jury Selection is Underway
As jury candidate questioning proceeded, certain prospective jurors acknowledged potential challenges in maintaining impartiality. This realization led them to express concerns about their ability to remain fair and unbiased throughout the trial. Consequently, numerous jurors have already been excused from serving on the panel. This ongoing process highlights the importance of selecting jurors who can uphold the principles of fairness and impartiality essential to the judicial system.

Supreme Court Verdict Could Drop Jack Smith Cases Against Trump
Joseph Fischer, one of the individuals arrested for unlawfully entering the U.S. Capitol in 2021, is facing seven charges. He is contesting the constitutionality of one of these charges: "obstruction of an official proceeding" under 18 U.S. Code Section 1512(c)(2). The crux of the debate revolves around whether this provision specifically pertains to "tampering with evidence." In essence, Fischer argues that he did not violate this law because he did not tamper with evidence in relation to an official proceding.
This issue is significant as two of the charges against President Trump, namely "obstruction of an official proceeding" and "conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding," are under this category. Should the Justices dismiss these two pivotal charges, Special Counsel Jack Smith's case against Trump would primarily rely on two remaining generic charges: "conspiracy to defraud the U.S." and "conspiracy against rights."
