Nintendo Gaming Journalists Got Everything Wrong in February
In the tumultuous world of gaming journalism, sensationalized rumors and clickbait headlines have become all too common. The month of February, in particular, seemed like a whirlwind of unverified reports and constantly shifting goalposts, especially when it came to Nintendo Direct and the rumored Switch 2.
It's frustrating to see how some outlets and insiders seem more focused on generating hype than delivering credible information. As a consumer, it's disheartening to constantly sift through these rumors, unsure of what to believe.
Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation are all known for keeping their cards close to their chests, and that's part of the excitement of being a gamer. However, when rumors and leaks become more about generating clicks than informing the audience, it can be exhausting.
As we move forward, it's essential to take these rumors with a grain of salt and wait for official announcements. It's understandable to feel jaded by the constant barrage of rumors, but until there's concrete evidence, it's best to approach them with skepticism.

First Impressions and Review Highlights:
Familiar Yet Fresh: Rebirth feels incredibly similar to Final Fantasy 7 Remake but is layered with several new ideas, making it feel like a genuine sequel.
Storytelling: The opening section recreates the Nibelheim Incident flashback, an important slice of Sephiroth’s backstory, which plays out more or less identically to what you remember of Remake, elevated by exceptional combat and character work.
Open World Exploration: Chapter two introduces a large open world of rolling grasslands and towering trees, providing a more expansive and natural environment than seen in previous Final Fantasy games.
Side Activities: Discover and activate 'remnawave towers' that plot a variety of activities on your map, including hunt-style battles and item salvaging, adding depth and variety to the gameplay.
Improved Movement: Cloud can easily hop over obstacles and use a basic climbing mechanic, providing a sense of freedom and adventure in exploration.

Visuals and Performance: The game covers significantly larger and more detailed areas than the original, turning what were once minutes of play into hours, with improved movement and environmental details.
Character and Skill Development: Red XIII is now a fully-playable companion with his own unique gameplay mechanics and skill tree system, adding depth to character development beyond just Materia choices.
Overall Impressions: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth promises to continue in style this worthwhile reinvention of one of history’s landmark RPGs, with a compelling story, engaging gameplay, and memorable moments that fans will love.
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you rediscover this classic RPG in a whole new light.

Is Palworld Dying?
Pocketpair, the developer behind Palworld, responded to concerns about a drop-off in the game's active player base, stating that it's normal and "fine" for players to take breaks from games. The lead community manager, known as "Bucky," reassured players that new content is on the way but takes time to develop.
Palworld, released in early access in January, quickly became a hit with over 1 million copies sold on its first day. Despite its initial success, the game has seen a decline in players, prompting discussions online and in the media.
Bucky addressed these discussions, calling some of the discourse "lazy" and expressing surprise at the game's popularity. They noted that while the player base has decreased, Palworld still boasts over 300,000 active players on Steam alone.
The drop-off in player numbers is not uncommon for games after the initial release period. Even popular titles like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds have experienced similar trends. Bucky emphasized that players should not feel guilty about playing other games, as there are many great titles available.
Overall, Pocketpair remains optimistic about Palworld's future and hopes that players will return for future updates.

Phil Spencer Disappointed With Helldivers 2..
Phil Spencer Expresses Disappointment Over Helldivers 2 Skipping Xbox Series X|S
Xbox chief Phil Spencer voices his disappointment over the absence of Helldivers 2 on Xbox, highlighting the game's success as a multiplatform release on PlayStation 5 and PC. While acknowledging the strategic value of exclusive titles as games-as-a-service for building a robust community, Spencer expresses his desire for broader availability, including on Xbox Series X|S.
Spencer's remarks, made during a conversation with Game File, underscore a growing trend in the industry towards multiplatform releases. This sentiment aligns with recent comments from Hiroki Totoki, CEO of PlayStation, regarding the expansion of PlayStation Studios' games to other platforms like PC and mobile.
While Totoki's statements were not specific to other consoles such as Xbox or Nintendo Switch, they indicate a broader industry shift towards multiplatform releases, particularly for games designed as ongoing services. This trend suggests that future titles in this category are likely to see simultaneous releases across multiple platforms, a strategy that contrasts with the traditional approach for single-player titles.

Annoyed by Nintendo Insider Rumors (RANT)
Nintendo Insiders are starting to annoy me. In February, it felt like the Nintendo rumor mill was working overtime, churning out speculation after speculation about the highly anticipated Nintendo Direct and the elusive Switch 2. Every day seemed to bring a new set of rumors, each one contradicting the last and leaving fans more confused than ever.
What's frustrating is that these so-called "insiders" seem to have no accountability. They throw out wild theories and baseless predictions without any real evidence to back them up. It's like they're playing a game of darts blindfolded, hoping that something will stick.
And the worst part? People eat it up. Fans hang on every word, desperate for any hint of what's to come from Nintendo. It's understandable to be excited, but blindly believing these rumors only adds to the chaos.
At this point, it's hard to take any of it seriously. Until Nintendo makes an official announcement, it's all just noise. So let's take a step back, take a deep breath, and wait for the real news to come from the source.

Sony's Gaming Empire in Trouble? Stock Plunge!
Sony's stock plunged by $10 billion last week as the company revised down its sales forecast for the PlayStation 5 this year. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg, according to financial analysts. The real concern lies in Sony's shrinking gaming operating margin, which dropped to just under 6 percent last quarter, down from 9 percent a year ago and significantly lower than the 12-13 percent margin seen in previous years. This trend is seen as "extremely disappointing" by industry experts.
Despite record-high revenues from digital sales and add-on content, the increasing costs of game development are eating into Sony's profits. Serkan Toto, CEO of Kantan Games, attributes this to the rising cost of making games, which has a significant impact on potential profits. This aligns with Shawn Layden's prediction in 2020 that the PS5 era would bring even higher development costs.
In light of these challenges, some experts suggest prioritizing smaller games in 2024 to manage costs and maintain growth.

Nintendo's Switch 2 Delayed to 2025: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Nintendo's next-gen console, originally rumored for late 2024, is now reportedly set for a first-quarter 2025 release. The delay aligns with the original Switch's timeline, announced in October 2016 and released in March 2017.
Publishers have been briefed on the launch date change, with some working on Switch 2 games slated for early 2025. Speculation points to long-awaited titles like Metroid Prime 4 as potential key releases.
Nintendo's stock took a hit amid the release delay rumors, according to Reuters. The future device, rumored to support backward compatibility with Switch, is also expected to feature 4K capabilities and visual quality akin to the PS5 and Series X. It could utilize NVIDIA’s DLSS upscaling tech for improved graphics in older games.
While much remains uncertain, Nintendo's 2025 release target indicates a busy year ahead, possibly culminating in a reveal at a later Nintendo Direct showcase.

PS5 Pro Launching This Year? Do We Really Need It?
Sony is expected to launch a PlayStation 5 'Pro' version in 2024 to revitalize interest, analysts say. The move follows a cut in sales outlook for the current PS5, with the new console potentially timed for the release of Grand Theft Auto VI in 2025. Despite anticipation for the new console, Sony faces challenges with profit margins in its gaming division at decade lows. Analysts suggest the PS5 Pro could help Sony navigate these challenges and capitalize on the highly anticipated release of GTA VI. Sony has not yet commented on these speculations.

Why I Called Out ReviewTechUSA...
Why did I attack ReviewTechUSA on video? An absolute mess was exposed on Discord following the drama of ReviewTechUSA firing Jay Hooft from JKB. Rich had posted a Facebook post mocking JKB about the PC he gave him and deleted it. JKB went on Discord and told everyone the truth about what happened with his firing.
After witnessing ReviewTechUSA's Rich badmouthing my friend Jay Hooft in screenshots on Discord, I felt compelled to defend Jay. This led me to create a video addressing the situation. However, after I posted the video, ReviewTech accused me of leaking the posts, which was untrue. I simply wanted to stand up for a friend who was being treated unfairly.
The situation escalated, but Jay and Rich have since had a phone call, and Rich personally paid JKB and apologized. Rich also apologized to me for thinking I leaked the info. We are now moving forward, and I hope this situation serves as a reminder to always verify information before jumping to conclusions.

Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.. What Do You Hope To See?
Nintendo fans have been on the edge of their seats, eagerly awaiting news about the future of their beloved Switch console. With rumors swirling and speculation rampant, all eyes are on the upcoming Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, set to air on February 21st.
The showcase, scheduled for 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET, promises to be a 25-minute deep dive into the world of Nintendo Switch games slated for release in the first half of 2024. However, fans expecting major first-party announcements may be in for a disappointment, as the showcase is expected to focus primarily on second and third-party titles.
One major title that fans shouldn't expect to hear about is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Masahiro Sakurai, the game's creator, recently announced that his work on the game is finally complete, meaning that any future updates or DLC are unlikely.
Additionally, fans hoping for news about Nintendo's next-generation console, rumored to be the Switch 2, may have to wait a bit longer. Reports suggest that the release of the new console has been pushed back to 2025, meaning that any major announcements regarding a successor to the Switch are unlikely to be made during the showcase.
Despite these limitations, there is still plenty of excitement surrounding the showcase. Fans are hopeful for surprises and new game announcements, with titles like Blazing Strike, set to release soon, potentially making an appearance.
The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase will be available for streaming on Nintendo's official YouTube channel and is expected to be broadcast on Twitch as well. Fans are encouraged to tune in to see what exciting new titles are coming to their beloved console.
In conclusion, while the upcoming Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase may not have all the news that fans were hoping for, it still promises to be an exciting event. With surprises potentially in store and new games on the horizon, Nintendo fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
So mark your calendars and set your alarms, because February 21st is shaping up to be a big day for Nintendo fans everywhere.

Why is Nintendo's Stock Down? Can They Recover?
Nintendo is back in the spotlight, and as someone who doesn't usually cover Nintendo, the start of 2024 has been quite intriguing. We've seen game releases like Another Code: Collection and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, but they haven't quite hit the mark for me personally. The touchscreen functionality of the original DS version of Another Code was something special, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong seems to have left some fans wanting more, with reports of players completing it in just four hours.
Many of us were expecting a relatively quiet first half of the year from Nintendo, with hopes pinned on a potentially big second half that could have been accompanied by new hardware. However, recent reports suggest that any hopes of new hardware, like the rumored Switch 2, are likely to be dashed. It's being speculated that Nintendo has internally shifted the release of the Switch 2 to 2025. This news has had a notable impact, especially on Nintendo's stock, which dropped by 6% after these reports surfaced.
While 2025 is still just a rumor, it seems increasingly plausible given the current landscape. Nintendo's 2024 lineup, without the potential boost from new hardware, raises questions about their strategy for the year. Games like Princess Peach Showtime, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, and Paper Mario Thousand-Year Door Remastered are known titles, but they aren't exactly groundbreaking in terms of driving hardware sales.
The upcoming Partner Showcase event might shed some light on what to expect for the rest of the year. Rumors suggest we might see games like Pennies Breakout and possibly something from Game Freak. However, with the absence of major first-party announcements, it seems Nintendo might be relying on third-party partnerships, ports, and remasters to carry them through 2024.
It'll be interesting to see how Nintendo navigates this situation, especially in their investor interactions. Shareholders will undoubtedly be seeking answers regarding the second half of 2024 and the future beyond. Nintendo has always been known for its unique approach, and while the stock drop might be a temporary setback, it highlights the importance of a clear communication strategy, especially in uncertain times.
What are your thoughts on Nintendo's future? Do you think we'll see any major announcements at the Partner Showcase? Let me know in the comments below. And as always, if you enjoyed this video, don't forget to subscribe and hit the bell icon for more content.

Nintendo Switch 2 Delayed to 2025? Let's Discuss!
Nintendo Switch 2 Delayed to 2025? Let's Discuss! We were all expecting a Nintendo Direct last week, but it didn't happen. Instead, Microsoft had its own event, which led to some confusion. There were rumors of a Partner Showcase or a Nintendo Direct Mini, but nothing concrete. Now, the buzz is that the Nintendo Switch 2 might be coming in 2025, not 2024 as previously thought. Sources suggest that Nintendo is delaying the launch to prepare stronger first-party titles, which makes sense but raises questions about the timing of the system's unveiling this year.
Personally, I think it's okay if Nintendo delays the Switch 2. It's better to have a solid lineup of games at launch than to rush it. Plus, a little mystery can be fun and lead to speculation and discussions within the gaming community. So, let's not get too worked up about it. We'll find out more details soon enough.
What are your thoughts on the potential delay of the Nintendo Switch 2? Let me know in the comments below. And if you're new here, hit that subscribe button for more gaming news and discussions. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video.

Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase: A Warning to Fanboys!
Nintendo fans have been eagerly anticipating news about the Switch's future in 2024, and it seems their questions will soon be answered. A new Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase event has been announced, set to air in less than two days.
The showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21, at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET, with an expected runtime of about 25 minutes. It will focus primarily on Nintendo Switch games slated for release in the first half of 2024, particularly highlighting second and third party titles.
This means viewers shouldn't expect much news about Nintendo's own game development, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as Masahiro Sakurai recently confirmed the end of his work on the game.
Speculation about the next generation of Nintendo consoles is also tempered, with reports suggesting its release has been pushed to 2025. This means any major announcements regarding a successor to the Switch are unlikely during this showcase.
While there's no confirmation of fighting game announcements, fans are hopeful for surprises. Titles like Blazing Strike, set to release soon, could potentially make an appearance.
The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase will be available for streaming on Nintendo's official YouTube channel and is expected to be broadcast on Twitch as well. Fans can tune in to see what exciting new titles are coming to their beloved console.

Xbox's Next Console Teased: Let's Talk!
In a recent Xbox podcast, Xbox president Sarah Bond hinted at Microsoft's plans for the future, promising "the largest technical leap" with the next-generation Xbox. This news comes alongside the announcement that four previously exclusive Xbox games will be making their way to the PS5 and Nintendo Switch soon. Despite these developments, Microsoft is keen to reassure Xbox fans that it remains committed to the future of its platform and hardware.
Speaking to The Verge, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer elaborated on the company's hardware plans, suggesting that the Xbox hardware team is exploring the possibility of building different kinds of hardware. Spencer hinted at the potential for unique hardware that would appeal to gamers due to its innovative features.
One possibility that has been the subject of persistent rumors is an Xbox handheld device. While Spencer did not confirm this, he did express his enthusiasm for handheld gaming. He also acknowledged that there is still work to be done to improve the Windows experience on handheld gaming PCs.
Additionally, Microsoft teased the possibility of a leaked discless Xbox Series X and new controller, hinting at a "robust and innovative multi-year hardware roadmap." The company promised more console and controller options for players this holiday season, ensuring that Xbox games are optimized for the latest hardware and services.
While specific details about Microsoft's future hardware plans remain under wraps, the company's commitment to innovation and delivering cutting-edge gaming experiences is clear. As Microsoft continues to push the boundaries of gaming hardware, gamers can expect exciting developments in the years to come.
Microsoft is teasing the potential for unique Xbox hardware in the future and a powerful next-gen console. Four previously exclusive Xbox games are officially coming to the PS5 and Nintendo Switch soon, and Microsoft wants to reassure Xbox fans that it’s still very much invested in the future of its platform and hardware.
In an official Xbox podcast today, Xbox president Sarah Bond teased that Microsoft will deliver “the largest technical leap” with the next-generation Xbox:
We’ve got more to come. There’s some exciting stuff coming out in hardware that we’re going to share this holiday. We’re also invested in the next-generation roadmap. What we’re really focused on there is delivering the largest technical leap you will have ever seen in a hardware generation, which makes it better for players and better for creators and the visions that they’re building.
Speaking to The Verge, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer went a step further, teasing that the Xbox hardware teams are thinking about building different kinds of hardware. “I’m very proud of the work that the hardware team is doing, not only for this year, but also into the future,” says Spencer. “[We’re] really thinking about creating hardware that sells to gamers because of the unique aspects of the hardware. It’s kind of an unleashing of the creative capability of our hardware team that I’m really excited about.”
Before the next-generation Xbox and potentially even a handheld, it sounds like the leaked discless Xbox Series X and new controller might still be a thing. “We have a robust and innovative multi-year hardware roadmap including more console and controller options for you this holiday,” says Microsoft in a blog post. “Xbox players will know that their games are built to maximize the latest features of our hardware and services.”
