Unleashed Games CEO Brags: No White Males in Our Game
In a series of controversial posts, Unleashed Games Founder and CEO Irena Pereira sparked outrage by boasting about excluding white male characters from the company's upcoming game Haven. Pereira's comments, since deleted, highlighted a deliberate choice to feature only non-white male characters in the alpha build of the game.
Pereira's remarks emphasized the importance of representation in games, stating, "Just wait until they notice that none of our starting characters in our alpha build are white males. None. Out of 6." She defended her decision, stating that representation matters and that games should reflect a diverse player base.
Despite facing criticism for her statements, Pereira remained steadfast, even suggesting that her actions were an experiment to challenge the lack of diversity in video game characters. She faced further backlash for comments made at the Game Developers Conference '24, where she shared intimate stories about menstruation, drawing criticism for being out of touch with the industry's priorities.
Pereira's insistence on her stance has led to questions about her motives and the impact of her decisions on the gaming community. What are your thoughts on Pereira's comments and her unwavering defense of them? Join the discussion to share your perspective.

8-Bit Eric OWNS and EXPOSES ReviewTechUSA
Officially owning ReviewtechUSA with my own dance for exposed. In a stunning revelation, ReviewTechUSA was caught using an alternate account to donate to his former editor Jay Hooft (JKB)'s stream. This donation wasn't just a friendly gesture; it was a malicious attempt to troll and disrupt the live stream. This incident comes after ReviewTechUSA claimed to be moving on from the drama and even bragged about having a victory in ending Jay's streaming career.
ReviewTechUSA's behavior has been erratic and obsessive since his fallout with Jay Hooft. It's evident that he needs to step back and seek help. The evidence of his trolling was uncovered when Streamlabs sent a PayPal email revealing ReviewTechUSA's email address as the donation sender. This was also confirmed in JKB's Discord group, along with additional evidence shared with me directly from JKB.
It's disappointing to witness such behavior, especially after ReviewTechUSA claimed to be moving past the drama. His actions demonstrate a lack of maturity and a troubling level of fixation. Let's hope this serves as a wake-up call for him to address his behavior.

ReviewTechUSA is OBSESSED with Melonie Mac
After ReviewTechUSA had a complete meltdown against 8-bit Eric on stream last night, where he attacked me, labeled my actions as lies, and even brought up Trump for some reason, it's clear he's still obsessed and butt hurt over Melonie Mac. Let's address the situation:
ReviewTechUSA recently accused me of spreading lies about him, claiming I leaked private audio messages he sent to Jay Hooft (JKB) and posted his Facebook post and tweets. I want to clarify: I did not leak any of Rich's private messages or post his content. Despite this, Rich has continued to blame me for his actions, even bringing up unrelated topics like Trump to deflect criticism. It's clear he's grasping at straws and trying to shift blame.
In a recent stream, ReviewTechUSA aired private audio messages he sent to Jay Hooft after Jay announced he was cutting ties with Rich. This came after Jay received unpleasant messages from Rich, sparking controversy.
The drama began when Rich posted a Facebook post mocking JKB about a PC he had given him, which he later deleted. JKB responded by revealing the truth about his firing on Discord. Rich's comments about JKB in Discord screenshots prompted others to defend JKB, leading to a video addressing the situation.
After the video's release, Rich accused others of leaking the Discord posts, including one of JKB's defenders. However, this accusation was false. Following the situation, Rich eventually apologized to JKB, personally paying him and apologizing for his behavior. Rich also apologized to others, including the defender, for his false accusations.
Despite the apologies, the drama between ReviewTechUSA and Jay Hooft continues. This incident serves as a reminder to verify information before making assumptions in online controversies.

Kotaku Is Dying: Editor-in-Chief Quits Amid Sweet Baby Inc Backlash
Kotaku's editor-in-chief, Jen Glennon, has resigned from her role, citing a new editorial directive from G/O Media that prioritizes game guides over news. This decision has sparked controversy within the gaming community, with many questioning the future direction of the publication.
Glennon's resignation letter expressed her belief that the decision to focus on guides is "fundamentally misguided" and ignores the site's current infrastructure. She highlighted the disregard for the livelihoods of the remaining writers and editors at Kotaku.
According to sources, Kotaku staffers are now expected to produce 50 guides per week, a significant shift from the site's previous emphasis on news coverage. The site's landing page, which typically featured major stories and breaking news, has been replaced with tips and guides.
Glennon's departure marks another leadership change for Kotaku, following Patricia Hernandez's reported firing in August 2023. The reasons for these changes, as well as the future of Kotaku, remain uncertain.

Contra: Operation Galuga Review - Is Contra Back?
Operation Galuga is a new take on the classic Contra series, aiming to revitalize the franchise after some lackluster entries in recent years. The game, while not groundbreaking, manages to be a solid addition to the series with its fast-paced action and updated gameplay mechanics.
The story mode, although lacking in depth and featuring trite writing and bland voice acting, stays true to the spirit of the franchise. However, players can easily skip the cutscenes and get straight into the action with the arcade mode, which offers a more traditional Contra experience.
One of the game's strengths is its ability to cater to different types of players. While it can be played on high difficulty settings for a challenge similar to the classic games, it also offers lower difficulty settings and an HP bar for those who prefer a more forgiving experience. This inclusivity allows new players to enjoy the game without feeling overwhelmed by its difficulty.
Operation Galuga also introduces new elements to the series, such as perks unlocked with credits earned in-game. These perks range from starting levels with specific weapons to tweaking health and mobility, adding a layer of customization to the gameplay.
Despite its positive aspects, Operation Galuga has its flaws. The graphics are notably subpar, lacking the detailed spritework of previous games in the series. However, the game maintains a steady framerate even during intense action sequences.
Overall, Operation Galuga is a welcome addition to the Contra series, offering a fun and engaging experience for both new and veteran players. While it may not reach the heights of its predecessors, it manages to capture the essence of what makes Contra games so beloved

The Verge Reporter Ash Parrish ADMITS To Lying About Sweet Baby Inc
Step into the latest gaming controversy as we dissect The Verge's recent article, "The return of Gamergate is smaller and sadder," penned by Parrish. The piece attempts to recap the current state of video game discourse but falls short with its heavily skewed perspective.
Parrish's narrative conveniently omits crucial details, such as Sweet Baby Inc. staff writer Chris Kindred's call for a mass false reporting campaign against a public Steam Curator List tracking games associated with the company. This omission is akin to leaving out a significant chapter in a story, distorting the true sequence of events.
When critics pointed out this glaring oversight, Twitter user @YourReadThisWr1 shared private messages from Parrish, revealing her attempt to justify Kindred's actions. She defended the false reporting campaign as a means to shut down a forum allegedly filled with harassment, conveniently sidestepping the fact that it was a direct attack on free speech and fair criticism.
Despite these revelations, Parrish has remained silent on the matter, opting instead to lock her personal Twitter account. This move suggests a lack of accountability and transparency on her part, raising questions about journalistic integrity.

Kotaku & PlayStation PR's Attempt to DEPLATFORM RGT85
In this explosive video, we delve into the shocking revelation that the US government is backing Sweet Baby Inc, labeling any criticism as 'Gamergate 2!' Join us as we uncover how taxpayer money is being used to support a narrative consultancy company and what it means for gamers.
The drama with Sweet Baby Inc. takes an unexpected turn as the United States government enters the fray, sparking even more controversy. Recently, a US government-funded organization has taken aim at those of us who are raising questions about Sweet Baby Inc.'s activities, attempting to silence dissent.
Notably, Kotaku senior editor Alyssa Mercante and PlayStation PR Mike Diver have tried to deplatform RGT 85 for his negative opinion about Sweet Baby Inc, adding to the ongoing drama. Despite their efforts, we maintain that we have every right to identify games associated with a particular company, which is all that Sweet Baby Inc. Detected is doing. This is akin to having nutrition facts on food labels; we should know what we're consuming, whether it's a game or a meal.
The situation is further complicated by the involvement of a US government-funded nonprofit called Take This, founded in 2014 to support mental health in the gaming community. However, it's hard to see what they've accomplished beyond taking up space and funds. Their recent call for the denouncement of "Gamergate" raises questions about their true motives, especially given their ties to Bethesda, Ubisoft, and PlayStation.
Furthermore, Take This' association with the Department of Homeland Security's research project, which aims to monitor extremism in gaming, is concerning. It seems our own government is spying on us while we play games.
As a United States citizen, it's infuriating to think that my hard-earned tax dollars are being used to fund a useless organization that seems more interested in condemning me than actually accomplishing anything meaningful. The existence of Take This, especially in light of its founding in response to the original Gamergate, is a slap in the face to gamers everywhere.
In response to Take This' call for action, I urge gaming developers to consider the consequences. Gamers have massive backlogs of games and can easily boycott new releases. The industry needs us more than we need them.

ReviewTechUSA's Meltdown Over 8-Bit Eric!
ReviewTechUSA recently stirred up controversy by accusing me of spreading lies about him, claiming that I had leaked private audio messages he sent to Jay Hooft (JKB) and posted his Facebook post and tweets. Let me set the record straight: I did not leak any of Rich's private messages or post any of his content. Despite this, Rich has continued to blame me for his own actions, even bringing up unrelated topics like Trump in an attempt to deflect criticism. It's clear that Rich is grasping at straws and attempting to shift blame onto others. Let's delve into the details of this ongoing drama and see how it has unfolded.
In a recent stream, ReviewTechUSA (Rich) aired private audio messages he had sent to Jay Hooft after Jay announced he was cutting ties with Rich. This decision came after Jay received unpleasant messages from Rich, sparking controversy and discussions among fans.
The drama began when Rich posted a Facebook post mocking JKB about a PC he had given him, which he later deleted. JKB responded by revealing the truth about his firing on Discord. Rich's disparaging comments about JKB in Discord screenshots prompted others to defend JKB, leading to a video addressing the situation.
After the video's release, Rich accused others of leaking the Discord posts, including one of JKB's defenders. However, this accusation was false, as the defender was merely standing up for a friend. Following the escalating situation, Rich eventually apologized to JKB, personally paying him and apologizing for his behavior. Rich also apologized to others, including the defender, for his false accusations.
Despite the apologies and attempts to resolve the issue, the drama between ReviewTechUSA and Jay Hooft continues. The incident serves as a reminder to verify information before making assumptions in online controversies.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection! Does It Suck?
**Rediscovering the Galactic Battlefields: A Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection Review**
Back in the early 2000s, the original Star Wars: Battlefront games captivated fans with their immersive gameplay and epic battles set in the Star Wars universe. Now, almost two decades later, these classic titles have been re-released in one complete package: Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection. As a long-time fan of the series, I was excited to dive back into these beloved games and relive the excitement of battling across iconic Star Wars locations.
One thing to note right off the bat is that the collection doesn't feature any visual improvements. While some may find this disappointing, I found that the nostalgia of the original graphics added to the overall experience. It was like stepping back in time to when I first played these games, and I appreciated the authenticity of the presentation.
The collection is packed with content, offering a variety of game modes to choose from. The two campaigns, in particular, are a great place to start. The campaign from the first Battlefront game is more of a collection of battles from various locations, while the campaign from Battlefront II offers a more structured story, complete with cutscenes voiced by Temuera Morrison.
One of the standout modes for me was Galactic Conquest, which remains as engaging as ever. This mode allows players to fight for control over different planets, with the ultimate goal of challenging the final planet under the opposition's control. The strategic element of Galactic Conquest adds depth to the gameplay and provides a satisfying challenge.
The controls are familiar to anyone who has played FPS games, but one issue I encountered was the slow turning speed. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an option to adjust the sensitivity, which can be frustrating in fast-paced combat situations. Despite this, the gameplay remains engaging, with a variety of classes to choose from, each offering a different playstyle.
One of the highlights of the collection is the ability to play as iconic Star Wars characters in the Hero Assault mode. It's a thrill to wield a lightsaber as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader and engage in epic battles against other players. The addition of characters like Princess Leia, Boba Fett, and Chewbacca adds to the excitement and variety of gameplay.
In conclusion, Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection offers an authentic Star Wars experience that will delight fans of the original games. While the lack of visual improvements may deter some, the nostalgic charm and engaging gameplay more than make up for it. Whether you're reliving fond memories or experiencing these classic games for the first time, Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is a must-play for any Star Wars fan.

Princess Peach Showtime!: Not What I Expected!
Join me as I play the demo of Princess Peach: Showtime for the Nintendo Switch! This game isn't your typical Super Mario adventure—it's a unique blend of action and platforming with a stage play aesthetic. While it draws inspiration from Mario games, it offers a fresh experience with its own twists.
Princess Peach: Showtime features platforming, boss fights, hidden areas, and collectibles. The game's 2.5D approach allows for movement in multiple directions, adding depth to the gameplay. The stage play aesthetic is charming, with sets that rotate, objects that lower from the ceiling, and an unseen audience that cheers you on.
Unlike traditional Mario games, Princess Peach: Showtime plays more like an action game with platforming elements. It's simple to control, with a focus on fun rather than complex combos. However, mastering the game and uncovering all its secrets will require skill and dedication.
One of the game's highlights is Peach's transformations, which not only change her abilities but also alter the entire stage around her. Each transformation brings a unique theme to the gameplay, making every level feel fresh and exciting.
Overall, Princess Peach: Showtime is a delightful and engaging game that offers a unique take on the platforming genre. Whether you're a fan of Mario games or looking for something new, this demo is definitely worth a try!

I Beat Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth... My Honest Review! (SPOILER FREE)
Check out my comprehensive review of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on the PS5! As a super fan of the original game, I've played every release and remake, so my thoughts are from a place of extreme love for the series. Rebirth is part of a trilogy remake of the original game, and it's the most expansive and deep Final Fantasy game to date.
The gameplay in Rebirth is top-notch, building on the action RPG mechanics introduced in the first part of the remake. Each character, from Cloud to Tifa to Red XIII, has a unique fighting style, and the combat is both active and strategic. I particularly enjoyed the new Synergy attack system, which allows for powerful team-up moves.
The world of Rebirth is massive, with each zone offering tons of exploration and hidden content. The game features new traversal techniques, like grappling hooks and chocobos that can fly, adding to the sense of adventure and discovery.
One of the highlights of Rebirth is the abundance of side activities and mini-games. From Gold Saucer's games to unique character-specific traversal sections, there's always something new and exciting to do.
While I loved the gameplay, the story left me a bit conflicted. While the plot beats and lore additions are well done, I felt that some parts of the story were overly drawn out or gratuitous. The constant escalation of events left me emotionally exhausted at times.
Overall, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a fantastic game that any fan of the series will enjoy. I'm giving it a nine out of ten and can't wait to dive back in for more playthroughs. If you love Final Fantasy 7, this game is a must-play.

The Problem with Sweet Baby Inc! #sweetbabyinc
Today, let's talk about Sweet Baby Inc, a company that's stirring up some controversy in the gaming world. They say they want to make games more diverse and tell better stories, which sounds great. But some people are worried that they're more focused on making money than actually improving games.
Sweet Baby Inc has benefited from ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investments from major firms like BlackRock and Vanguard. While this may seem fine, some are concerned that this could impact game narratives negatively. Injecting woke narratives or politics into games for the sake of representation rather than focusing on the game itself can lead to issues.
Recently, some of Sweet Baby Inc's employees have been causing problems. One employee, Chris Kindred, got upset about a group on Steam that warns people about games associated with Sweet Baby Inc. He told his followers to report and ban the group, which seems like a big overreaction.
Another employee, Felix "At Home" Legobutts on Twitter, complained that Steam doesn't have rules against groups that warn about Sweet Baby Inc games. But here's the thing: Legobutts also works for Sweet Baby Inc, so it seems like there might be a conflict of interest.
On top of that, Legobutts has a history of making negative comments about white people. While people can change, this raises concerns about fairness in the games they're working on.
In the end, while it's good that Sweet Baby Inc wants to make games more diverse, their recent actions have raised some red flags. Games should be about fun and entertainment, not pushing an agenda. What do you think about all this? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you next time.

Is YouTube Being Unfair to My Retro Life?
YouTube's support for content creators has come under fire once again, with the My Retro Life channel facing a baffling issue. Despite featuring family-friendly content centered around old and nostalgic gaming consoles and games, YouTube has disabled comments on their videos, citing concerns about unsupervised children appearing in the content. This move is seen as a clear example of YouTube's policies failing to account for the nature of the content and the channel's audience.
The My Retro Life channel, hosted by Tyler Esposito, primarily showcases videos of him reliving his childhood gaming experiences. These videos are a source of joy for many viewers, evoking nostalgia and creating a sense of community among retro gaming enthusiasts. However, YouTube's decision to disable comments has had a significant impact on engagement and the channel's algorithm, hindering its growth and reach.
It's frustrating to see a channel like My Retro Life being unfairly punished due to YouTube's rigid policies. The content is harmless and brings happiness to many, yet it is being penalized in this manner. This situation highlights the need for YouTube to review and revise its policies to ensure they are fair and considerate of the diverse range of content and creators on the platform.

ReviewTechUSA's Livestream Meltdown.. Full DSP Mode!
ReviewTechUSA recently had a meltdown on his latest stream, revealing private audio messages he sent to Jay Hooft (JKB) after Hooft posted a tweet saying he was done with Rich (ReviewTechUSA) after receiving terrible messages from him. The incident has sparked controversy and discussions within the gaming community.
Why did I attack ReviewTechUSA on video? An absolute mess was exposed on Discord following the drama of ReviewTechUSA firing Jay Hooft from JKB. Rich had posted a Facebook post mocking JKB about the PC he gave him and deleted it. JKB went on Discord and told everyone the truth about what happened with his firing.
After witnessing ReviewTechUSA's Rich badmouthing my friend Jay Hooft in screenshots on Discord, I felt compelled to defend Jay. This led me to create a video addressing the situation. However, after I posted the video, ReviewTech accused me of leaking the posts, which was untrue. I simply wanted to stand up for a friend who was being treated unfairly.
The situation escalated, but Jay and Rich have since had a phone call, and Rich personally paid JKB and apologized. Rich also apologized to me for thinking I leaked the info. We are now moving forward, and I hope this situation serves as a reminder to always verify information before jumping to conclusions.

Nintendo Gaming Journalists Got Everything Wrong in February
In the tumultuous world of gaming journalism, sensationalized rumors and clickbait headlines have become all too common. The month of February, in particular, seemed like a whirlwind of unverified reports and constantly shifting goalposts, especially when it came to Nintendo Direct and the rumored Switch 2.
It's frustrating to see how some outlets and insiders seem more focused on generating hype than delivering credible information. As a consumer, it's disheartening to constantly sift through these rumors, unsure of what to believe.
Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation are all known for keeping their cards close to their chests, and that's part of the excitement of being a gamer. However, when rumors and leaks become more about generating clicks than informing the audience, it can be exhausting.
As we move forward, it's essential to take these rumors with a grain of salt and wait for official announcements. It's understandable to feel jaded by the constant barrage of rumors, but until there's concrete evidence, it's best to approach them with skepticism.

Is Palworld Dying?
Pocketpair, the developer behind Palworld, responded to concerns about a drop-off in the game's active player base, stating that it's normal and "fine" for players to take breaks from games. The lead community manager, known as "Bucky," reassured players that new content is on the way but takes time to develop.
Palworld, released in early access in January, quickly became a hit with over 1 million copies sold on its first day. Despite its initial success, the game has seen a decline in players, prompting discussions online and in the media.
Bucky addressed these discussions, calling some of the discourse "lazy" and expressing surprise at the game's popularity. They noted that while the player base has decreased, Palworld still boasts over 300,000 active players on Steam alone.
The drop-off in player numbers is not uncommon for games after the initial release period. Even popular titles like PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds have experienced similar trends. Bucky emphasized that players should not feel guilty about playing other games, as there are many great titles available.
Overall, Pocketpair remains optimistic about Palworld's future and hopes that players will return for future updates.

Phil Spencer Disappointed With Helldivers 2..
Phil Spencer Expresses Disappointment Over Helldivers 2 Skipping Xbox Series X|S
Xbox chief Phil Spencer voices his disappointment over the absence of Helldivers 2 on Xbox, highlighting the game's success as a multiplatform release on PlayStation 5 and PC. While acknowledging the strategic value of exclusive titles as games-as-a-service for building a robust community, Spencer expresses his desire for broader availability, including on Xbox Series X|S.
Spencer's remarks, made during a conversation with Game File, underscore a growing trend in the industry towards multiplatform releases. This sentiment aligns with recent comments from Hiroki Totoki, CEO of PlayStation, regarding the expansion of PlayStation Studios' games to other platforms like PC and mobile.
While Totoki's statements were not specific to other consoles such as Xbox or Nintendo Switch, they indicate a broader industry shift towards multiplatform releases, particularly for games designed as ongoing services. This trend suggests that future titles in this category are likely to see simultaneous releases across multiple platforms, a strategy that contrasts with the traditional approach for single-player titles.

Annoyed by Nintendo Insider Rumors (RANT)
Nintendo Insiders are starting to annoy me. In February, it felt like the Nintendo rumor mill was working overtime, churning out speculation after speculation about the highly anticipated Nintendo Direct and the elusive Switch 2. Every day seemed to bring a new set of rumors, each one contradicting the last and leaving fans more confused than ever.
What's frustrating is that these so-called "insiders" seem to have no accountability. They throw out wild theories and baseless predictions without any real evidence to back them up. It's like they're playing a game of darts blindfolded, hoping that something will stick.
And the worst part? People eat it up. Fans hang on every word, desperate for any hint of what's to come from Nintendo. It's understandable to be excited, but blindly believing these rumors only adds to the chaos.
At this point, it's hard to take any of it seriously. Until Nintendo makes an official announcement, it's all just noise. So let's take a step back, take a deep breath, and wait for the real news to come from the source.
