Cadillac is going all electric and we got a first look of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ. This is the first all-electric full-size SUV from Cadillac. Cadillac says it redefines the luxury SUV experience with an estimated 450 miles of range, rear wheel steering, Super Cruise driver assistance technology, bidirectional charging capability, reimagined interior and exterior designs, and zero tailpipe emissions. This is a new modern design full sized SUV. It’s big and bold and stunningly large 24” wheels and 35” tires. The Escalade IQ is power with GM’s new Ultium battery with 24 modules for longer distance and quick acceleration. The 2 motors put out up to 750hp. and a 8000 pound towing capability. 0-60 MPH is under 5 seconds which is fast for a vehicle of this size. It offer a 450 mile range. Cadillac Escalade IQ come with standard four-wheel steer, which makes the vehicle feel smaller and gets into tight spots. It decreases the turning radius by more than 6-1/2 feet. This is especially important at low speed turns. At higher speeds it will turn the rear wheels slightly to help the vehicle increase handling stability and control. The Escalade IQ has magnets ride control which adapts to road surfaces. Inside the Cadillac Escalade IQ is a huge interior that is ultra luxury with amazing detail. Available Super Cruise driver assistance technology. The 55” pillar to pillar interface screen is super impressive. The Escalade IQ can has three-row seating configuration or choose the Excutive 2nd row seating for the ultimate in luxury. AKG audio covers the cabin with 40 speaker plus speakers in headrests. We have positive updates on the mandate to buy electric cars by 2035. U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) introduced a bill, the “Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act” (S. 2090), to protect Americans’ right to choose the technology that powers their motor vehicles. S. 2090 includes the same text as the House bill(H.R. 1435) that U.S. Rep. John Joyce (R-PA) introduced in March. Both these bills respond to California’s plans to ban the sale of new gas and diesel-powered cars and trucks in 2035 unless certain conditions are met. If passed into law, the legislation would prevent the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from allowing California’s Zero Emissions Vehicle regulations that would ban the sale or use of new motor vehicles with internal combustion engines from taking effect. This would impact at least 17 states immediately. Its here, the all-new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser in three different models. We look at all the details with a Toyota internal. Since its introduction in the U.S. market in 1958, the Land Cruiser evolved over the years from the legendary two-door models like the 40 Series with its fold-down front windshield, white roof, and rear jump seats to was the last generation to be sold in the States and the capable yet fully loaded 200 Series, which combined Land Cruiser’s unbreakable strength with premium luxury features. Now, Land Cruiser stays true to its heritage, returning as a high-quality off-roader at a more accessible price point that will take a wider range of customers on numerous backcountry adventures across the globe. When Land Cruiser arrived in the U.S. in the late ‘50s, Toyota sold only one unit in its first year. But then, when the 40 Series arrived, Land Cruiser became the best-selling Toyota in the U.S. for five years running. These early models featured solid front and rear axles on leaf springs, and the boxy look with a flat roof, short overhangs, and “TOYOTA” grilles became iconic. Soon after, though, customers wanted a bigger 4x4, and the Land Cruiser grew into larger station wagon models such as the 55 and 60 Series and ultimately lead to where the Land Cruiser left off in the U.S.: the 200 Series, a premium, full-size luxury off-road SUV. Powered by i-FORCE MAX turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that produces 326 horsepower, 465 lb.-ft. of torque. The First Edition grade limited to 5,000 units for North America and comes equipped with round heritage LED headlamps, roof rack, rock rails, and exclusive interior design plus two-tone paint. Are electric vehicle charging stations the end of driving freedom? Some worry that relying solely on electric vehicles means being tied to charging infrastructure. Sadly EV charging stations in the US are plagued by reliability issues. Charging your EV at public stations throughout the United States can sometimes be challenging, to say the least, with stalls that are out of order, software hiccups, and occasional vandalism rendering chargers useless. To put things into perspective, we now have fresh data that paints a dreary picture of the reliability of American public EV charging. Ford is slashing the cost of the base model, the Pro, by some $10,000, down to just under $50,000 but still above the initial $40,000 price tag. Ford said the cuts are due to “increased plant capacity, continued work on scaling production and cost, and improving battery raw material costs.” The company added that one of its vehicle assembly plants in Michigan is undergoing final upgrades to triple its output starting this fall. eFuel, which promises to breathe new life into combustion engines. Automakers are taking a hard look at carbon neutral e-fuel to extend the life of the internal combustion and diesel engines for sports cars, SUVs, and pickups. Synthetic fuels are the only way to decarbonize internal combustion engines; critics say that it is a costly distraction from electrification. What are e-fuels or synthetic fuels? E-fuel combines carbon dioxide taken from the air, (or captured from carbon producing systems, like a refinery) and hydrogen obtained from water by electrolysis. The lure of e-fuel is that, with no modifications to the engine, gasoline injectors, different elements, or emissions methods, it allows an inside combustion automobile to run almost as cleanly as an EV. Automakers say the e-fuel works in all their engines. The latest research by the Worldwide Council on Clear Transportation says Shell, Exxon, Aramco, and several other smaller refiners have been creating e-fuels and testing them daily for years. Automakers say that e-fuel is a direct, drop-in alternative for gasoline. Utilizing e-fuel in a gasoline or diesel vehicle is a smart option because it eliminates almost all the dangerous emissions. E-fuels are not yet produced at scale. The world's first commercial plant opened in Chile in 2021, backed by Porsche and aiming to produce 550 million liters per year. Other planned plants include Norway's Norsk e-Fuel, due to begin producing in 2024 with a focus on aviation fuel. We shall see what consumer want to buy and their choices will improve over time . The UAW has an issue with the EPA vehicle emissions plan, and the impact to union workers is not making them happy. The Biden Administration is being pulled in two directions over the EPA’s proposed vehicle emission targets. Earlier this year, the agency revealed a plan to cut emissions by 56% which would result in electric vehicles accounting for an estimated 67% of new car sales by 2032. Here’s some good news for anyone shopping for a used car. Used car prices are falling fast. According to the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index, which tracks wholesale used car prices sold at Manheim auctions, prices fell 4.2% in June compared to May, which is the largest drop since the pandemic began. If you compare it to a year ago, they’re down 10%. We think that used prices could be dropping because as new car inventory goes up, more people are deciding to buy new cars instead of a used one. The car buying and selling market is always fluctuating. This month the average car prices are now holding steady at or below sticker for new cars. However, the average new car cost is $251 more in May than in April. New car prices have essentially stayed flat for three months.
