Who were Jesus' Disciples? Who were His two half-brothers who we are told wrote two of the Books in our New Testament? What does the Bible tell us about them? What about Church History? Each of these men chose to live out their Faith in Jesus even to the point of death. All but John were murdered in horrific ways. Do you really think any of them, much less all of them, would have done so for something they knew was a lie? Of course not! They did what they did and made the sacrifice they did because they knew absolutely that Jesus of Nazareth died on a cross, was buried in a borrowed tomb that was sealed and guarded by the best soldiers from the best army the world had ever seen. He remained in that tomb for three days, then rose again. Finally, He ascended into Heaven with a promise to return for us. That is why they were willing to die to tell others of Jesus the Son of God, because they knew they were speaking and living the truth. Yet, how many of you are willing to die for that truth? Even simpler, how many of you are willing to live for that truth? The New Testament is very clear on what a Life of Faith is, but virtually none of us are willing to live it. The Modern American Church is full of dry bones with no life, just like Israel. We are so often lukewarm and playing at Church instead of living on faith. But it doesn't have to stay that way. In Ezekiel 37, we are told to pray the Spirit will fill us and give us life. Let's do that. Those Dry Bones Are Coming Alive! CONVERSATIONS WITH THE EVANGELIST: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh8GzfEMFpImVnezs0C_JEA #Ezekiel’s Prophecy was primarily concerned with the Nation of #Israel. They had rejected their God, so He rejected them. Sent them into Exile. But this #Prophecy was looking ahead further than that. The #Prophet was seeing that one day the Nation of Israel would become nothing but dead, dry bones. They would be completely wiped off the map. And, when that happened, the world would say it was impossible for them to ever become a Nation again. But #Ezekiel was shown that one day God would bring them back into being as His Nation. He would bring the #Jews back to life. And, ultimately, when the Messiah set up His #Kingdom on Earth, they would be a part of it. In other words, he was prophesying the impossible. So, did this ever come to pass? Join the Conversation and find out. Yet, the same can be said of the Modern #Church. We are lukewarm at best. We play at “church” but do not actually act on what we claim to believe. And in Matthew 25, Jesus tells us those who are like that will be rejected when they stand before Him for Judgment even though they claim to have served Him. We are nothing but dead, dry bones and if we stay this way we will be thrown away. But it doesn’t have to be that way. In these #Endtimes, Jesus wants to give us the Holy Spirit so we can be brought back to life. He wants to raise up those Dry Bones. But we have to want the same thing. We have to be willing to act on our faith and do the things Jesus did while on Earth. Only then will our Dry Bones come to life. As hard as it might be for young people to believe, there was a time when we did not have computers in our homes, on our arms, and in our pockets. We actually had to think for ourselves. And in those days, when dinosaurs walked the Earth, I was a true Computer Expert. I was an excellent programmer. And one of the first things they taught us about programming is in fact still important today. The IF-THEN command. That is also something that applies in our Christian Faith. It is the ONLY way to be saved. Throughout His Ministry and while He was teaching His Disciples to live Holy as God is Holy, Jesus made the Promises of God conditional. He Promised to Love us unconditionally. And that is about it. Everything else was conditioned on what we first did. In other words, IF we do something, then God will do something. The reverse is also true. IF we do not do something God asks, then He will not act. The most basic is that if we Believe in Him and allow Him to wash away our sins, He will apply the Grace of God and save us. But if we do not, then we will be condemned to Hell for all Eternity. The Bible commands us to go to "church". If we call ourselves Christians, that is the most important thing we can do. Show up for "church" on Sunday Morning. NO!!!!!! He Meant To The World Around You! Yes, that is what virtually all major denominations such as #assembliesofgod, #churchofgod, #methodistchurch, #lutheranchurch and all #MegaChurches such as #joelosteenministries, #tdjakesministries, and more would tell you. But they are WRONG! In actuality, Jesus NEVER said anything about going to what we today call "church" because such a thing did not exist and would not exist for hundreds of years until the Catholic Heresy invented it. Rather, one of the last and one of the most important commands Jesus gave us was to "GO". If you are Living Saved, you have a duty to GO and to show unbelievers His Love with your life. Just the opposite of sitting in a building and expecting the Lost to come to you which is what so many do today. It is about the world around you, not a building owned by a business created by men. We should go to church in order to be around God's People and to learn more about Him. But that cannot be the end. We must take what we learn there and use it to show Jesus' Love to others. Fort Wayne, IN used to be called the “City of Churches” because we seemingly had a church on every street corner. But that did not mean we had places of True Faith on seemingly every street corner. Most of those places that called themselves churches were actually practicing religion, following a system of organized practices, traditions, and man-made doctrines. When confronting the Jewish Priests, Jesus condemned them for doing this. Yet, we continue this practice more than 2,000 years later. Why? True Faith stands in complete contrast to this. It is about walking in the ways of God and letting the Holy Spirit lead us in every way. Instead of having an “Order of Service” and doing things the same way every week in our Church Services, we ask the Holy Spirit how He wants us to worship and learn that day. Instead of having a sermon that has been written out word for word, we trust the Holy Spirit is going to speak through us. Instead of deciding for ourselves what our day and our future will be, we walk into the unknown trusting that God will always be with us. Only True Faith will get us into Heaven. Yet, we continue to, in far too many cases, cling to religion and the way things have always been done. Our Traditions and the teachings that have come down through the centuries from Men are far too often more important than what God says and what He commands. If we truly want to see what so many in the Church call #Revival, then we have to return to living in True Faith just as the First Believers did. There is absolutely nothing in the New Testament that says ANY Christian, a Follower of Christ, is promised they will be able to live life without suffering and persecution. Sure we have mostly escaped that so far in the Modern #americanchurch. But those days are about to end. All of the signs #Jesus told us to watch out for to know we are in the Season of His #Return are all around us. The One World Government will soon rule everything and the One World Church will come into being. Then it will be a crime to follow Jesus. To speak His Name. Persecution will begin. We will also see the beginning of an Angry and Just God stomping out the Grapes of Wrath. All of the terrible things we read about in Revelation will come on the Earth. And those still living here are going to suffer greatly. Is it guaranteed Christians will be here for part or all of it? No. But we also cannot rule out that there is a chance we will. The #UnitedStates is less than 300 years old. Although, that seems like a long time if you think about it. But picture the Israelite People. “For all #Scripture is God Breathed.” Many today use that verse to argue the entire #Bible, every word of it was #inspired by #God and that the Men who wrote it only put in exactly what God wanted it to say. And then the Men who translated the original languages into the versions we have today were also inspired to use only the exact words God wanted it to say. But is any of that true? That much of what is in the Bible is actually #fiction or simply an analogy. It never happened. However, we can rest assured the Bible is the Written Word of God. Not because of a single verse that was written centuries before the version of the Bible we have today came into being but because we are in a relationship with God and He has sent the #HolySpirit to guide us in understanding what the Father wishes us to know about Him and how to live a #HolyLife. While there are many who want to distract and argue in order to keep people from growing in #Christ, they are simply serving the wishes of their Master, #Satan. Read and accept the Bible as it is, but do so while while asking for guidance, understanding, and #wisdom from the Holy Spirit. The Thief comes only to steal, to kill, and to destroy. We always have to be on guard or else Satan, The Thief, is going to take away everything we have and hold dear, our families, our health, and everything we own. HOLD IT! HOLD IT! Nope! Nope! Nope! If we change “A” to “The” John 10:10 says something that Jesus never said and never intended. Of course it would help if we would read more than just the one verse, maybe actually read those that came before or after. But most #pastors won't do that because they want you to know their opinion rather than what Jesus actually said. And that is actually what Jesus was warning about in John 10:10. If we follow those who are not of God, we will lose everything spiritually and materially. So know the Holy Spirit's voice instead. Throughout His Ministry and all of His Teachings, #JesusChrist made it clear we are not to focus on or value material things. He is not saying we cannot have them but that they cannot be so important to us we are failing to live as He did. Yet, that seems to be the number one focus in so many #churches and in the lives of #Christians.
