DESCRIPTION:

Mildred Fay Jefferson, the first (1st) Black-American woman to graduate from Harvard Medical School (1951) who was a founding member of the National Right to Life (NRTL) and served as NRTL President from 1975-1978. Mildred died Friday, October 15th, 2010, at the age of 84.

This NRTL video tribute was shown at the 41st Annual National Right to Life Convention Thursday, June 23rd, 2011 in Jacksonville, Florida.

During her lifetime, Dr. Mildred Fay Jefferson broke many barriers. But it was her four (40) decades of activism in the "Right-To-Life" movement that left an indelible mark on our society.

Dr. Jefferson was also a co-founder of both Massachusetts Citizens for Life, Inc. Mildred was a sought-after speaker who eloquently and passionately advocated for legal protection for unborn children.

Following her death the National Right to Life honored Dr. Jefferson's life with this tribute video.
