Report says Aurora Police Department investigations into serious crimes delayed due to records backlog

An independent report authored by a police records consulting firm found the Aurora Police Department had more than 2,500 reports still backlogged for investigation — a “high-liability matter,” according to the report — including reports involving child sexual abuse, murder and carjacking.
