Shocking video captured the moment an Arkansas man who claimed he was injured during an arrest made an apparent miraculous recovery – when he jumped out of his wheelchair and escaped from police on the way to court.

Joel Sanchez Delgado, 41, was being escorted to a court in Little Rock for a routine appearance on drug-trafficking raps Monday when he bolted from a sheriff’s deputy and triggered a manhunt, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

The Pulaski County deputy’s bodycam shows the parolee, who was recently charged with shooting his girlfriend, saying, “My shoe, my shoe,” a ruse that distracted the lawman.

Delgado then leaps out of the chair and makes a run for it as the deputy gives chase.

The parolee’s freedom was short-lived, however, and he was caught several hours later and charged with felony escape, in addition to the many other crimes he is accused of committing.

Delgado was being escorted to a court in Little Rock for a routine appearance on drug-trafficking raps.

Delgado, who has reportedly done prison time in Florida for domestic violence, has been jailed since his Feb. 6 arrest at the Magnuson Inn, where he, a woman and two other men were charged with burglary, the news outlet reported.

Police in North Little Rock recently charged Delgado with first-degree domestic battery amid allegations he shot his girlfriend, Teresa Ann “Peaches” Howard, 31, in the parking lot of a local McDonald’s.

She underwent three surgeries and spent at least a month in a hospital, according to an affidavit cited by the paper.

He has been jailed since his Feb. 6 arrest at the Magnuson Inn.

Delgado also has been charged with felony drug trafficking after being found with methamphetamine.

In June 2019, he was sentenced to four years behind bars after pleading guilty to theft by receiving and was approved for parole in October that year.
