I Am Trying

I think I can. I think I can. Will powered doing. Not Fun! Has anyone ever said to you: I will try or I am trying? Well you know at that point whatever it is, it may not get done. Will power fleshes out really strong in the beginning, but then it fades out to failure before it accomplishes anything good. I think I can do that; doesn’t mean I will do it. It means it is a big maybe. So many times, we engage our mind, we engage our will, we think positive thoughts and we trudge through, pushing through and then we run out of drive, and we crash and burn. Will power is not enough. Thinking in our mind is not enough. Our mind and our body sometimes do not agree with each other. Our mind says yes, our body says no. Our mind and our will and psychologically our soul did not agree when we thought we could, so we failed. We can do anything. Yes this is true. But don’t forget the second part. In Christ, all things are possible. I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. I think I can do this, but not without Christ Who empowers me. If our soul is not with us when our mind is saying: I can do this. Our emotions will overpower our mind and we will not get it done. If we truly want to “do” something, then it begins with “being” something. Being found in Christ. Learning to live in God’s Presence, learning to be found in Him, becoming wholly-holy His, and walking in His power, we can. An incredibly engaged will that pushes, pushes and pushes forward, will run out of steam and fail us. Our hearts and our minds fail us, but God can be the strength of our lives. We need to allow God total access to our lives so it doesn’t matter if our will is bucking up or our soul is not feeling it, or our mind is worn out being positive, all these things don’t matter when we are engaged with God’s Holy Spirit, in followship of Him, we will have exactly what we need to grow through and finish well.
