MZ/IB Archive - Faith Series - God's Timing

Several years ago I read an account of a man named Lloyd Sumner who bicycled around the world. He was taking a ship across the Indian Ocean from Jakarta to Sri Lanka when he decided to "ride the deck." He noted that when he timed the swells of the ocean just right, he could coast forever, up and down the length of the deck. Whenever he failed to work in conjunction with the waves, however, he'd set himself up for a nasty crash.

It's the same with the timing of God. When we discern what God is doing when and go with His flow, we enjoy relatively peaceful times of coasting. When we try to wedge some foreign activity into a time period that wasn't made for it, however, then frustration ensues.

Here is an audio that I made in 1999 in Willard, Ohio, at the annual Northeaster Ohio Conference that I sponsored with my wife. I haven't heard this one in a long time and boy, did it minister to me when I both heard and watched it yesterday, thanks to the wonderful video work of Rodney Paris of Texas, who has digitized many of my early cassette tape audios and, God willing, will do many more. I thank God for Rodney's provision in bringing classic Scriptural messages to you that might otherwise be lost to history.

I am suffering along with you at the tail end of this wicked eon. Let this bring you some degree of comfort, as misery loves company—so they say. I tend to believe it.

From the peninsula,
