We'll explain in this tutorial video what fixed track curtains are, and how they're different from full-track curtains and other forms of drapery and window treatments.

Fixed-track curtains are often seen in South Florida and Miami, and are purely a decorative vs functional window treatment. You'll primarily see fixed-track curtains being installed in non-sleeping rooms, such as bedrooms or office rooms that don't get too much all-day sunlight.

In short, a fix-track curtain gives the illusion of there being drapery for the entire length of the windows, when in reality it is non-functional. As a result, it is much cheaper because there is much less fabric being used.

Fixed track curtains as you might imagine simply hang there at the end of the windows, and look like they've been retracted when in reality they don't extend at all! In fact, they are unable to really move due to the fixed-track as the name implies. The track that the curtain runs on is abridged, and typically only extends as far as the folded curtains themselves, i.e. several feet.

We'll show you a few photos as well to illustrate what fixed track curtains look like in this video. It's certainly a cheaper alternative if you simply want to dress up a room, but don't actually need any window treatments otherwise.
