Leg strength - no weights #shorts
Looking for a simple way to build leg strength without weights? Check this out.
One of my current clients is the mother of a baby-age son. Her time is tight, and she's feeling like she's lost the sense of athleticism she had from years ago.
She asked if there was something she could do when she's with her son to build some of that strength back.
LEG STRENGTH. It's something I've been working on to improve my surfing (can't surf you can't balance your body while standing).
So I showed her what I do when I'm at the park with my son.
1) Find some way to elevate your heel(s) OR just use your lower leg muscles to maintain that elevation.
2) Do half squats to each side, focusing on control and a hold at the bottom position.
3) Repeat to fatigue for 2-3 sets, looking to gradually get deeper with full control (and no sharp pains) over time.
I've been doing these practically every day in the kitchen at the park, at the beach, etc. etc.
