Convoy Coordinator Talks About Antagonizing DC Mustang Causing 3 Truck Pile Up Media Flips Story

March 26, 2022 Iowans gathered in front of the Des Moines, Iowa Capitol to fight for their freedoms and oppose mandates. A food truck was present and Sweet to Eat Bakery sold various snacks such as pie and cookies. Several speakers gave speeches on the matter from Jim Carlin, Gary Lefler, Rick Stewart, Gina Spampinato, Kari Hartpence, to Trent Thevenot. After the event, a group of them drove around Des Moines in a convoy.
Gina Spampinato, the main organizer of the Midwest Freedom Convoy talks about her experience with the Freedom Convoy in DC. Gina talks about the kickback since the convoy went out to DC. Gina continues, “They blockaded the exits. They pushed us off onto no truck roads, which they already had the officers and media sitting down on those roads before we even got there. We’ve seen a lot of things out there turn positive. When we got there it was very negative. Now there’s people all over the overpasses out there cheering us on waiving, flags hanging all over the place. It’s amazing.” Gina continues to say “There was a situation, which I want to make something very clear...It was spun very hard in the media. I don’t know if you guys saw it up here. There was a Mustang that got boxed in. They said we were terrorizing their commonaries. That is not how that went down. It came from the back of the convoy cutting in front of people jacking his breaks. He caused a 3 truck pile up. That is how that went down. He then ran a truck and a camper off the road smashed all over the road. We were in touch with the police department through CV and they cut this out on the media I know, but the police officer worked his way all the way up through the convoy as we had him boxed in, and took over and took him off the highway. So I just want you to know it’s not fun and games out there. It’s definitely been an amazing family like community.”
